Your channel deserves so much more subscribers & supports ! Your impressions, your personality, your ability to capture an audience & re tell the story without being a bore ! I’ll always be a supporter of your work ❤️ ima watch this movie again when I get home lol ace was so fine to me, everybody always talks about Mitch but ace was laid back, introverted, chill always low key !
Thank you so much PrettyTee we will get there one day ❤️💕
This movie is a modern day classic. Over twenty years old and it still holds and aged liked the finest of wines. All the performances in this movie were really good.
This movie will never get old.
mekhi phifer and wood harris definitely were booked and busy in the 90s and early 2000s and wood still gets booked. Definitely feel like that generation of black male actors hit different. Morris Chestnut, Leon Robinson, Larenz Tate, then you have powerhouses like Denzel, Laurence Fishburne, Samuel L., Morgan Freeman, Wesley Snipes, James Earl Jones, and so many more. They had RANGE!! You couldn't box them into one genre or role.
Calvin was so disrespectful the things he was telling Ace before dinner he was doing with Ace sister. I think Ace didn’t like that
For the longest time I didn't know that Wood Harris's brother is Steve Harris; he played the abusive husband in the movie Diary of a Mad Black Woman.
Yes I know very talented family
I've seen Wood Harris play like 4 different drug dealers and they all had different layers to them. Dude is a great actor. He was my favorite in The Wire.
What I never understood about the true story was how these dudes were making all of that money but didn't have enough money to pay the ransom for the little brother. His death was the saddest part of the entire scenario. Moral of the story, find something legal to do.
Because they were spending the money on luxury; instead of saving. He could have at least sold those cars he had over 12 luxury cars.🤦🏾♂️
FAKZ. 💯
Camron deserved an Oscar, Academy, and a BET Award for the role of Rico
What happened to Rich & his little brother was imo more tragic than the movie. The uncle & The Preacher Crew were animals. Smh….great review!!!
Thank You!
Regina Hall is too gorgeous in this movie, this movie got too many quotes! Great Review!
Thank you!
What make this movie more iconic is you can go and find the real story. I was surprised when you said it flopped at the box office.
I remember diving into the backstory of this film after my first watch. I was astonished 😮You are so correct, Tyra, layers! Great review.
Thank you! ❤️
"The folks whose close, hurt you the most"- unknown
Peace to Rich Poter and his brother. Peace to the 3 people who were killed during the robbery.
Thank you sharing.
Anyone would leave a bad place in a second than trying to live in it and get hurt or worse. Great review as always Tyra and looking forward to the TLC biopic review. 😁
Girl! This is my movie!!! I’ve gone down the rabbit hole looking at every interview by AZ, Alpo and all the documentaries!!! It’s too bad Netflix wasn’t around because it could have been a great series!
It has the potential to be a great series!
No offense but it's all oversaturated with 50 cent shows and stuff but quality wise maybe
I remember back in the day my Aunt who lived in Grant Projects was taking me and my cousin to the McDonald's on 125 and Bway. Me and my cousin were disappointed because it was closed off due to a crime scene. Come to find out that was where they found Donell's finger in the bathroom. That McDonalds is no longer there as it was bought by Columbia University. That McDonalds was a landmark though.
This is literally in my top 3 favorite movies all time and a lot of that is due to knowing the real story so well
They WERE teenagers when they made all those millions.
You've got some of the best reviews on RUclips!
Glad you like them! Thank you !
I know how people can smile in your face then talk behind your back
Real ones Richard Porter and AZIE
I remember the whole story of Rich Porter, Azie Faison and Alpo Martinez.
I had to go back and watch the scene in the car. The car scene was priceless
I was so in my feelings first time watching the movie I anyone to get Rico so bad & the uncle i was big mad but u did a great job reviewing ❤❤❤
I just don’t understand why Rich didn’t move his family out of the projects but had all that damn money?! Pissed me tf off 😂
This isn’t said in the movies, but when most of this happened, they were teenagers. They had adult actors play them.
@@moon-millionaire ohh ok ok makes more sense but still they knew how to make money and buy cars I would’ve bought my people a brownstone in a good neighborhood or a house 😂 something!
Classic movie and watching the docs and all the interviews of the people involved is so sad.
Moral of the story be careful bc the tables do turn when you least expect it
You have the best intro music please never change them!
Thank you !
I forwarded this video before i watched it. I enjoyed this review movie & it’s the definition of no new friends. Fun Facts: Wood Harris, Kevin Carroll (Calvin), Mekhi Phifer, Ron Cephas Jones (Ice) & Regina Hall all appeared on New York Undercover. Ace’s mom was Mike’s mom in The Wood. i am looking forward to the Drumline & Crazy, Sexy, Cool (The TLC Story) review.
Great review. I never knew any of those details. Those guys are monsters. I can't imagine how terrified Sonny must have been...
Thanks for watching!
Speaking of wood Harris you gotta do the wire one day. Greatest tv show of all time.
What i don’t like about Azie’s thoughts of the movie is that regardless of his portrayal.. he’s still deemed as a snitch for testifying against Calvin for the robbery 😭
Great review! I learned a lot! I didn't realize it bombed at the theatre. I remember going to the theatre to see it when I was in high school and it was packed, and all my life it's been a "cult classic". Also, I had no idea the true story of how "Mitch" died or what ended up happening to the real "Rico" after he got out of prison. Whew! Comparing it to a Hood Horror movie was spot on!
Thank you 😊
Mekhi Phifer was fine in this movie 😍
Now I heard this in a Dame Dash interview. the reason why Paid in full got leaked out was because Dame Dash and Harvey Winestein got into an argument, and Dame Slapped Harvey Winestein. Idk how true that is, but I saw Dame say it in an interview
🤑🤑 poppin review 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
You got that right girl. 💯😁
Ayeee u came in kickin that gangsta ish!! 💪✨🤣 I love it. This was definitely a hood classic too. Loosely based. Goes in the basket wit Belly and Above the Rim, Menace and nem. ❤
Yes it down straight classic!
Yes ma'am. Happy Holidays!
Yea I don't cry no more
I remember watching it 10 years after it came out after watching the VH1 Documentary: Planet Rock(Crack & the Rise of Hip-Hop).
This film is a legit classic and I agree that it could have been even better with more resources. It reminds of Goodfellas.
Paid in full & Shotta's were the start of my love for toxic men 😂😂😂 cause all 6 of those main men were so damn fine to me smh!
Your intros funny as hell😂😂this is one of my favorite movies
It's a Classic thanks for the info, didn't know all that
What’s poppin Kermie
I love your body of work keep it up 👌🏿
Thank you and welcome to the channel! ❤️
Off work, a blunt and a struggle review. Always right on time ⏲️ 👌 💯
💯
Yeah alot of the time. Life is stranger than fiction.😮
Not proud of it but I was in the drug game back when this happened. I was actually in Brooklyn and I remember reading this in the paper. It scared me to the he point I never let people know my real name, that I had a daughter who was 2 at the time. They didn’t even know where I laid my head at. That shook me up cause I knew dudes were ruthless but killing kids scared me.
U gotta do this weekly
I’m here now 😂
Don’t make me do a list for u 😂
Lemme scroll to see what u did first
Welcome to the channel I see you running the videos up and I thank you!❤
Just an excellent movie and great review..
Thank you ❤
Love it. Belly is another classic!
Great breakdown.Rico/Alpo just a silver tongued snake nothing more. He was type to just talk people into crash dummy missions on his behalf . Sidenote you are FINE.
Thank you ❤️
Soon as this video started 😂
Yeah the real life alpo was a psychopath and a grimy dude
An Classic Fasho✅✅✅

hi Tyra why you didn't open with the song paid in full by Eric B and Rakim?? that would been more fitting! good review!
I didn’t feel it in my spirit 🤣
@@StruggleReviewzTV lol you listen to it?? It’s a oldie goodie classic…
Can you please tell me what you use to edit your videos?
Vlog Star ❤
@@StruggleReviewzTV thank you!❤️
I saw paid in full years before it's official release. Like VHS bootleg. That's why it didn't make money
Thank you for another great video. My favorite characters were Mitch and Ace. I didn’t like Calvin.
Love this movie it's such a blassic.
Alpo and Ritchie Were not friends 💯. Ritchie crossed Po first ❤
The story was not told right 👍
