Wow man you played so well 🔥🔥 ... This video was awesome and hats off to you for playing all my favourite solos of Avenged Sevenfold...you really motivated me to practice more and more and more now.
That was so clean man, amazing play! I really like your top 10 cause you picked some underrated solos. If I had to choose my top 3, it would probably be M.I.A, Nobody and Danger Line, but Syn has done so many masterpieces that it is hard to pick only a few to rank! Great video man!
I own the same exact Synyster Gates guitar, and I can no longer make the excuse that it's my guitar that can't play these solos. Hahaha Damn You! STELLAR playing. I've been playing guitar for 6 years and hope to reach your level soon.
The second solo in Victim is my favorite Gates solo. And you’re the 1st person I’ve saw play the same fingering for the fast run in it. I see a lot of leads start on the b string and pick through it, but it’s sounds lighter like it starts on the e to me, with tons of legato and slides.
Yeah I spent a while trying to work out wth Syn is doing there haha. I didn't nail the timing or legato feel, but also didn't feel like it was worth re recording the whole video from scratch... definitely a unique lick! Wish there was some decent live footage of that bit hahaha
@@KarzGuitarI definitely wish there was some good live footage as well. I think I’ve got the notes right, but I’m just a little too sloppy when I try to pull it off. Either way, killer video, running through all those solos is no easy task.
I've learned most of these solos at one point or another over my years of playing guitar, and playing along to you playing them was such a nice trip down memory lane for me. Hats off for getting them all nuance for nuance, and glad some people know the Victim Solo's one of Gate's best
my brother, thank you very much for giving me this alternative to solo victim, I've been stuck on this solo since 2017, it helped me a lot, may god bless you, Brazilian guitarists thank you🤝
I really appreciate how you actually play the lead harmonies in these solos. Bat Country for example I see people play the rhythm harmony because it’s higher
Nailed these solos! But should have put the first half of the hail to the king solo. One of my favorites was kinda disappointed because that’s my favorite part😂 but great job man. You nailed that afterlife solo. One of the hardest ones in my opinion
semoga ga ada korban dari kejadian ini, Aamiin. kalo diambil sisi baiknya, memang akan menarik sih kalo wanita sepositif kak Mikay sharing sisi personal dan kesehariannya di akun youtube ini, semangat yaa
Oh my god man of course! This is an example of something I’ve only ever dreamt of seeing. I’ve always wanted to see someone shredding Syn’s solos in high quality with the same tone and intensity he has and my god man you nailed it. Absolutely 100% a video I will share over and over and watch repeatedly in awe. Excellent work.
Idk if it's the audio or what but they sound a couple bpm faster, but that could also just be my connection. Nonetheless great job! Also, Almost Easy or Cosmic for the Face Melter award? I remember the BTS for Almsot Easy and it was one of the most difficult solos Syn had written at the time. Now that he's matured more musically, which one do you think deserves the award?
Hm, could be! I tried to use backing tracks wherever I could find them - so you're hearing me rather than Syn - and I wouldn't be surprised if a few of them were slightly faster than the studio tracks. I think that was Afterlife, wasn't it? Not saying that Almost Easy is, well, easy, but its no Afterlife hahaha. My vote honestly goes to Nobody. It's so clearly his most difficult solo! Every time I've covered it, it's taken so many attempts to get a half decent one. Syn himself even said recently that it's impossible to play live haha
Victom second solo is one of the best learnt that one a few years ago along with strength of the world ,much under rated solo and song .great playing and great tone .
Solo 1: Buried Alive Solo 2: Afterlife Solo 3: Nobody Solo 4: Second Heartbeat Solo 5: M.I.A. Solo 6: Bat Country Solo 7: Seize the Day Solo 8: Hail to the King Solo 9: Cosmic Solo 10: Coming Home Solo 11: Victim
Thank you! It's a switch to turn on the Sustainiac pickup. That allows me to hold the note forever - and based on the setting of another switch on the guitar - holds the harmonic of the note rather than the root note. I don't even have to play the harmonic on my guitar! Just fret the root note and turn the Sustainiac on :) Syn loves using this technique.
i guess it's impossible to others guitarrists try not to find some mistakes, but this guy make it so clean, gz man, keep doing your best, i'll try play this like u do, u rock! @Karzguitar
If ever there was an 11th one to make the list, the second one in Victim fits the bill. For the second fast run in Coming Home, you're the first I've seen tap it. Always see it as a picked/legate 3-note-per-string pentatonic with some annoying stretching
Oh interesting. Haven't seen a video of Gates playing it, but im 99% sure that's tapping. Sounds like it tonally, and makes way more sense from a playing perspective. Plus, it's very much in his 2010s style of adding two finger taps (like the Stages intro has very similar positioning). Also not to sound jaded, but im approaching done with taking other covers as gospel hahaha. Man, when Nobody came out it was like fighting an uphill battle - "those difficult stretches are taps!!" "It's actually in Drop C because Nik Nocturnal said so in his reaction video!" etc. Glad they played it live early on and we could dismiss some of those ideas I think this means we just need to petition the boys to add Coming Home to the setlist.
@KarzGuitar I completely agree, so many transcriptions just don't make sense. Hell there's a couple I see Gates play and doesn't work for me. Everyone's different and feels comfortable playing different ways, just need the notes to be correct. Coming Home is easily best or second best on Hail to the King and it's a crime it is never played live. It deserves so much more than being a hidden gem.
@@KarzGuitarBro how much time? I kinda forgot all these solos existed but I am really struggling to play “exist” 💀 The Stage was the first song I learned how to kinda sweep.
@ericlewis1576 bro exist is crazy haha, the sweeps, the two hand tap stuff! As for time, super hard to say. Depends on how much you practice and what you practice - I suggest branching out into tough artists across the musical spectrum for training purposes! As for me, I've been playing since 2008
Afterlife solo still my fav ever... Syn maybe not the best guitarist for the skill, but he's the mos genius at creating such melody... even their orchestra players shout out to his melody when they record this song at studio
Definitely agree about his melody! Also, like you said he's not *the most* technical but id actually argue he's quite high up there. His licks are deceptively tricky, especially in the last two albums! I'm quite comfortable with Petrucci, Loomis and Friedman but man some of Gates newer stuff took some effort haha
@@KarzGuitar indeed! Hes getting better and better time by time... i remember, Waking The Fallen era, he still using a tiny woof to making a smooth licks, and he still seems nervous when time to solo guitar, but.. look at him at LBC Live concert era.. wow! He found his original style, and its so fkn cool.... definitely one of the best guitarist in term of performance, so good to see him playing!
Thanks man! You're not the first to mention Save Me - guess the fans really love the solo! It's in my like top three A7x songs, but the solo didn't amaze me as much as the ones here - just my thoughts haha
Wow, some out-of-this-world playing! 🎉🌟 If you have a few minutes, can you please give an idea of how you're able to learn such complex pieces and execute them so reliably? When you're learning the piece, do you make sure to never allow for any mistakes to occur, i.e., do you go super-slow to ensure that every rep is 100% accurate? Or is it ok to clean up later on? Would love to hear your insights on optimal practice. Thanks!
Thank you! There's definitely a lot of muscle memory going on, I tend to not remember the notes as much as my hand's movement. Whenever I put together tabs for these videos, I have to dig into my mind palace and action out the movements to figure out the notes! I think it comes from years of playing, because I definitely used to memorise tab notes in the first few years. As for the learning process, after I'm sure of the notes by checking tabs / live videos / covers / checking with my ears, I immediately try to record it. I then break down where the errors are, work on them in isolation, then try and get closer and closer to 100% over a few takes. Recording myself has been super important! I feel like the parts that really make a cover sound imperfect/novice might be nuances in timing, bending accuracy, slides and their timing and some other subtleties. I'd not realise what I had wrong, and continue banging my head against a wall - for years - because I'd be practicing the wrong notes without knowing it! It's when I do 5 takes in a row, hear the same discrepancy against the main track, and then can go back and learn the correct parts. Recording yourself and learning piece by piece reminded me a lot of studying for university - its almost like taking notes lol. As for consistency, it's unfortunately not great. Life's too busy and I've got way too many videos on my to do list, so I just get the consistency good enough that a video takes a reasonable amount of time. For this 11 min video, I probably had about 4 or 5 full takes? So an hour of play time, and this was the best of them. It's something I'm working on! Hope the info dump helps haha
This was awesome these are definitely some of Syns greatest solos, one you should check out is Syns masterclass solo, though its not on an album its still a very good solo by him. keep up the good work
Thanks! Yeah his master-class stuff is crazy. Those overhand tapping bits sound like a nightmare to transcribe. Also loved his gypsy jazz stuff from that session!
@@KarzGuitar it's actually not that hard to do once you get the muscle memory, I got it on a day off from work after maybe 5-10 minutes. Only part that sometimes kills me is letting off the note before if I haven't had my coffee and am not alert😅 there's a guy named Hector on here don't remember his last name but he does a tutorial I followed I strongly recommend you check it out friend 🙂

I’ve always wanted to see someone shredding Syn’s solos in high quality with the same tone and intensity he has and my god man you nailed it. Absolutely 100% a video I will share over and over and watch repeatedly in awe. Excellent work.
I'm a big fan of Synyster, now I'm also a fan of yours, good job
aaaaand out of all of those insane solos, I only ever saw Syn pull out a face while playing MIA!!
Bufffff! Sin palabras.
Gran trabajo, porque Syn es increíble.
Y los vemos, mi hijo y yo, este verano en Resurrection Fest. 🤤
Thanks bro! Have fun!
Santo Cristo!!!! 🫠. Que buena técnica brother!!!! 🔥🔥
Thanks dude!!
Great work Karz love from India, Jai Hind!
Thanks bro!!
Dude. U are an insane talent. OMG.
Cheers man, appreciate it!
@KarzGuitar I think there should be a TOP 100 because all of Syn's solos are magical, heavenly, and awe-inspiring.
I cannot understate how amazing it is that this is one take. Holy shi$
We can't also forget that sick solo in Remissions as well
Truuu, Waking is so underrated
MAgical Video Bro had so much fun..
1 week till i see a7x live.
Sick!!! Have an amazing time. Wish they'd come back to Australia already :P
Victom second solo is one of the best learnt that one a few years ago along with strength of the world ,much under rated solo and song .great playing and great tone .
Hell yeah! Strength of the World is great
Really awesome all the solos. Congratulations. And I totally agree with the best solos from Avenged. 'Comming Home' and 'Victim' are the best
Seize The Day will always be my personal favorite A7X solo. Afterlife as a close second.
Solo 1: Buried Alive
Solo 2: Afterlife
Solo 3: Nobody
Solo 4: Second Heartbeat
Solo 5: M.I.A.
Solo 6: Bat Country
Solo 7: Seize the Day
Solo 8: Hail to the King
Solo 9: Cosmic
Solo 10: Coming Home
Solo 11: Victim
What an amazing performance! Chills!
Also, what is that switch called you use near the middle of Cosmic that allows you to get that divebomb tone?
That Coming Home solo in one take was cold as fuck
eyyy cheers bro!
i guess it's impossible to others guitarrists try not to find some mistakes, but this guy make it so clean, gz man, keep doing your best, i'll try play this like u do, u rock! @Karzguitar
Hahaha thanks man!
Glad they played it live early on and we could dismiss some of those ideas
I think this means we just need to petition the boys to add Coming Home to the setlist.
Bro. You shred. Keep up the good work! 🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽
Cheers man!
Haner is a beast. Great job. One take is amazing
his fingers on fire!! amazing🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
You're soooo good with the guitar, i wish to play like you do someday😭🎸
Thanks!! It's all a matter of time and practice imo! You'll get there bro!
@@KarzGuitarBro how much time? I kinda forgot all these solos existed but I am really struggling to play “exist” 💀
The Stage was the first song I learned how to kinda sweep.
@ericlewis1576 bro exist is crazy haha, the sweeps, the two hand tap stuff!
As for time, super hard to say. Depends on how much you practice and what you practice - I suggest branching out into tough artists across the musical spectrum for training purposes! As for me, I've been playing since 2008
@@KarzGuitar Super duper crazy man.
Seriously, though. Eff off with that Coming Home solo. Jesus Christ, dude. 🤘🏼😳
Wow!! I like this..sound great..nice cover bro..good job
Thanks man!
Bring a video playing the solo of The Wicked End, from the album City of Evil.
Congratulations on the beautiful work!
Great guitarist and loved how relaxed you played, watched it completely and enjoyed it all!
Dude, the video is really good. congratulations! I just missed "The wicked end" on this list... It has a great solo too.
imo hail yo the king is very normal, Save me is way too better but, I repeat, imo. Really good video bro, You have so much talent
Thanks man! You're not the first to mention Save Me - guess the fans really love the solo! It's in my like top three A7x songs, but the solo didn't amaze me as much as the ones here - just my thoughts haha
Glad to see bat country in the top ten. It’s my personal favorite
Wow, some out-of-this-world playing! 🎉🌟
If you have a few minutes, can you please give an idea of how you're able to learn such complex pieces and execute them so reliably?
Thanks so much for your detailed reply! Appreciate it! Btw, subscribed 😂
Ive played for probably 5 years on and off nothing crazy but it just boggles my mind how good some people are I hope I can play half this good one day
It's just time and practice man! I've clocked up around 16 years now haha
Awesome playing 🤘🏻 Subbed!
Great job man. Gonna use this video to learn these solos
Hell yeah dude, all the best!
