Dr. Joe DeMarco, chiropractor and owner of OcraMed Health, discusses and demonstrates how to treat neck pain.
As a chiropractor for the past 32 years, I've treated many patients for neck pain. A couple of the common muscles involved in neck pain are the sternocleidomastoid (SCM) muscle and the trapezius muscle. One of the things that these 2 muscles have in common is that they are both innervated by the spinal accessory nerve.
In today's video, I demonstrate 3 techniques. First, how to perform nerve flossing on the spinal accessory nerve. This is performed to "free up" the nerve and reduce irritation to it.
Second, I go over how to self massage the SCM muscle. And third, how to perform fascial release work on the upper trapezius muscle.
Give these techniques a try next time you are experiencing neck pain. Leave me a comment, in the comment section down below, after you try the techniques. Let me know how they worked for you. Good luck!!
