Thank you very much, you’re explanation of how the psoas attaches makes it a lot clearer to understand why it can cause pain.

I’ve been dealing with this for a while now, but today is the first day doing stretches. How long would you say until I feel relief?

It takes time and how quick someone gets better varies quite a bit. However, these things often take time. Give it a few weeks at least.

Thanks for this Dr. Joe! Perfect timing.
Question... given the location and route this muscle takes, can a tight Psoas result in a snapping hip? For positioning, if doing a "dead bug" movement, lowering/straightening one leg to the floor results in a loud "pop" or snapping sound deep within the hip. It sounds like perhaps this psoas muscle is "snapping" over the head of the femur. There is also lower back pain. It sounds like I might be able to get both of these issues with these stretches (I hope!). Does this sound like a possibility in your opinion? I know you can't diagnose, but just want to see if my thinking makes sense.

Yes it can be a cause of a "snapping" hip. Good luck Bill! Let me know how it goes.

I have lower back pain when I'm on my feet too much. Is this because the muscle or because hip alaignment?

Really hard to say without examining you. Perhaps go in to see a chiropractor and have it evaluated. Good luck!

Hey have a question does the glutes help pull the back which pulls the rib cage and the spike ball is safe to roll it anywhere for releasing tension for muscles for example the abs, thigh, glutes, and the entire back cuz I wanted to get this ball to roll my back just wondering!

It's usually safe to roll over any muscle group depending on the particular injury.
