Oh my God! It's like the band is on steroids. They just friggin rock. Incredible improvements from a year ago. It's just high power music and vocals. Love the added segments of the song and how they come back to the original version. Arnel has really found his comfort zone. Love his embellishments and character he puts into the song. I missed this but I remember many of my coworkers went to this concert. Pinoys powered this to sellouts and Arnel was the big draw. He has a movie like true rags to riches story.
He puts more life in this song, high tone but not irritating sound just rock.. I'm sorry but I tried listening to SP's live versions of this song (1983 and 1994) and almost fell asleep or cringe at his super high tone. I just dont like it. It's different kind of high tone.
This guy is awesome. He was engaging with the audience, went up the stage, went turn round and round then looking just casually belted that high note for so looonnngggg ... he certainly knows how to bring the house down.
You’ve have to be kidding. I know you’re an Arnel fan and I get it. The guy was in his prime vocally in this performance. He does a pretty good Perry impersonation. As does Deen Castronovo. Steve Perry is the gold standard of vocalists. Look at how many singers they went through to replace ONE. Now after 15 years with the band, Arnel can’t hit those notes anymore and is straining to sing certain parts. He and Deen are sharing vocal duties now. Journey’s catalog takes a toll on every singer’s voice.

They're just humans made of flesh and blood who age...so when phenomenal singers like steve p and arnel loses their voice's versatility its understandable and i mean who cares. If you're a genuine Journey fan, whether Steve P, Steve A, Scott Soto or Arnel Penida falters or go flat it doesn't matter you will continue to support and cheer for them and Journey always and forever, like me, that's what i do.
