Great review, most people are brand snobs and don’t or won’t acknowledge that GM and Cadillac make the best handling chassis in the world right now. All the major car mags agree that this is better than the M3 as well so the haters can go take a walk.
Very true, and the same thing can be said for the past two decades with the introduction of the CTS (2003) and the reviewers that rave about the razor sharp steering and better driver feel, and overall how it is more fun to drive than the import competition ...but there are so many snobby Americans that hate on their own country's cars because they are stuck in the 70's and haven't followed automobile development. That and "import" has a certain arrogant status to them
I'll never give up my IS 500, but if I ever have a moment of reconsideration, THIS would be the car I'd get. (...and in manual.) I don't need the burbles on the outside, but the on the inside (where it counts) I'm totally digging the sound of the engine and the shifts. Brilliant review.
Yep, I'm biased cause I picked up a manual ... Plenty of power to have fun, incredible gearbox, 15inch 6 piston brembos, suspension is dialed in, looks great, excellent exhaust note ... GM crushed this send off
Sold my 2018 ATS-V 6 speed for a 2022 Blackwing auto I have to admit I only miss driving it when I was ripping the gears. Normal driving it was not fun. The new car has the carbon fiber package and does make the car look more aggressive.
Nice Review, but I think you mis-stated the Front Tire Size. When you drive the CT5 BW, lets see if you think it handles better or not. The CT5 BW lap-times are reportedly faster, than the CT4 BW, but I wonder if that would be different, on a tighter track.
The number on the steer wheel: 46-130 4: CT4 BlackWing (There would be a 5 instead of a 4 if it was a CT5) 6: 6-Speed Manual (There would be a 10 if the car was equipped with the auto) 130: Build Number out of the first 250
The 46 means it's a manual. The 130 is the production number for manual cars. I believe for '22 they built 665 total CT4 Black wings with the 6m tranny.
The M3 Comp is faster on some circuits, but the CT5 BW outperformed the M5 Comp here. BMWs have higher quality interiors - but they also cost more. As a BMW fan, I am happy about the sporting competition. Caddy's are currently rougher, Beamers are more luxurious.
The 6.2 from the Camaro SS would be too heavy and ruin its razor sharp turn in. I think its just about perfect although an extra 75 hp would be very nice.
Dear followers!! Don't let the beautiful pictures confuse you . Anyone who buys a new car from GENERAL Motors the chance you threw your money into the trash is very large. In this company there is no customer service, the company's management does not care at all, if you have a problem or a malfunction, you can only pray to God there is a chance that the help will come faster. GM is a very dangerous company, be careful and keep your money safe.!!!Share so more people don't get screwed.GM is a big bluf
If you believed that why don't you post with a real name? Until then I stand by my positive V3 CTS-V and CT5-V Blackwing experience and call you out as a troll. Else, share some real experiences with GM.
@@rdollie1 Who is this dude he be on every GM post in the comments singing the same song it's a little disturbing he needs help or something else to do smh
Whoever you are you don't know what you are talking about..gm makes really reliable American cars..they are on the top end in reliable cars..especially for the money against German cars..you can pay twice as much for a German car..an can you get twice as many miles..plus cost of ownership is alot less for gm..gm cars get 200 thousand miles..BMW and Mercedes gets about the same..for alot more

Well said..I totally agree
And the M3 Comp.

Great review, made it look like a really fun car to drive!

Paddle shifters weaving in and out of traffic is a lot of fun
@@Ryan-cp4rh not as fun as slamming gears. LOL.
The auto transmission is 10 speed but thanks for a great review.

Faster lap times. With the CT5 - yeah I agree.
It has 200 more horsepower. I’d hope it would be faster….
The number on the steer wheel:
46-130
4: CT4 BlackWing (There would be a 5 instead of a 4 if it was a CT5)
6: 6-Speed Manual (There would be a 10 if the car was equipped with the auto)
130: Build Number out of the first 250
Thanks I wasn’t 100% sure about those numbers.
- xxx is VIN last three

This comes optional with the 10 speed auto (not 8 speed)
I am all about the auto blipper!
Nice vid
Shame you got the manual visor option
You definitely weren’t in track mode regarding the noise

$25k price difference, so not comparable. M3 comp is comparable to C8 Z51 magride Stingray at $90k
8 speed or 10 speed automatic???
If you choose the auto it’s a 10 speed. I prefer the 6 speed stick!
I am waiting for a used one. I can't afford the new one even the base.

I like how this guy is losing his British accent.
How come RUclips reviewers never do any research on the car before your start spouting misinformation?
The M3 is not it's competitor it is the smaller models.....the fwd models from the Germans.
