Kudos to the young lady who narrated this video, you were not slipping e yet when the beautiful Secretariat captured the hearts of the world, but you showed your love for horses. It has been told that his groomer played games with Big Red. Once that gorgeous big boy took the rake that was used to muck out the stable and did a good job raking. When Secretariat was retired he would bring a stick to the fence for someone to throw and he would fetch it. Oh, how I wish I could've met him! Perfection. He was God's horse, no doubts. Often in my dreams I watch him run a race. He's running in Heaven now and he still runs like the wind,!

The large heart alone would not have made him a success. Secretariat had the composition, the constitution, the mind, and the attitude. He had it all.

They also trained him a lot and he had great lung capacity to go along with a larger than normal heart

Exactly, Sham had the X factor as well. Got it passed down through their family tree.

I don't follow horse racing but I do remember as a young teenager following Secretariat because it seemed he always won and that alone is very impressive. As fast as the horse was I loved to watch him run, it is like seeing a buck run at full stride. Secretariat margin of victory at the Belmont Stakes is still astounding. I will have to say on this narration I found it a little difficult to understand the lady I don't know if it was her accent I'm not being critical I'm just saying it might be my iPad it's not that old it's a good one and I haven't had trouble with other narrations on most any subject but the information was good.

The absolute best racehorse that ever lived. Records that still stand today. 47 Years ago this magnificent beast, set records in the triple crown, that still stand. The Belmont some say, will never be broken. How can any of these achievements, be relegated to a 2nd place standing.

There have been so many commenrs about "Secretariat's" racing style or method, if you like. But it seems to me that certainly in both the Kentucky Derby and "The Preakness", if not quite so evident, in "The Belmont", that "BigRed" merely needed a few seconds, to gather himself or as they say, "find his stride" before unleashing his blistering pace and stamina. Once he did that and providing of course, that he was in perfect health then no horse could ever hope to catch him. ..! He may have had impeccable breeding and ideal conformation, even an "outsized" heart, but without the elusive yet oh so essential something,
simply the determination to win " SECRETARIAT" could never have become the "Legend" he so deservedly is..!!

You've done a very good job, especially in covering the large-heart gene, which is one of the most important contributing factors in Secretariat's success (combined of course with an excellent system of management and training).

Good video. (A larger heart allows for more oxygenated blood to be pumped with each stroke/beat (higher stroke volume) which delivers more oxygen faster to working muscles. Oxygen is not 'synthesized', even if Jerry I. said it in the documentary.)

Good job Girls, however there were many women involved in the "Sport of Kings" Bold Ruler's owner comes to mind and there were female jockeys and exercise riders (Sham's former rider has a FB page). Still that was nice work, hat's off!
