@@ImAvocado Pretty big difference overall. I did a review on the Pictors in the past if you haven't seen if yet, however the Catta Zooms have full frame coverage, they're smaller overall, lighter and they have the filter cartridge. The lens mounts are also much quicker to swap than the Pictors. Optically, you'd honestly need to test them out to decide.
does the color cuts well between the other two catta ace zooms & also vespid series? with pictor in other reviews, it doesn't cuts well between the zooms and vespids.
I like your videos so much. I learn a lot about videography and technology from your videos. Thank you so much for making your exceptional knowledge and extensive experience available for us free of cost. God bless!
I still prefer the overall look coming out of the Tokinas. Opitcally, they're superior however I appreciate how lightweight the DZO's are compared to the Tokinas.
If we only plan on shooting with the Komodo-X is it better to opt for the DZO Pictor Zooms vs the Cattas to save some $ or is there other benefits to the Cattas other than FF coverage? Thanks!
I think that the Cattas have an overall better look, but that's my opinion. I didn't get to mess with it but the rear filter cartridge shows some promise. You're also going directly to the camera (RF) instead of needing an adapter for the Pictors.
I think both lenses are amazing. There are pros and cons to each. The Tokinas are built extremely well, have a really nice look however the 25-75 is a bit heavy. The Cattas on the other hand are lighter, cheaper and cover full frame sensors, however they’re not built as well as the Tokinas and aren’t as optically consistent. My suggestion is for you to rent the lenses first to test. A short 2 day rental could save you from making the “wrong” choice. I know that I didn’t give you a clear cut answer but I Hope this helps.
Great video! I’m torn between the pictors and the catta for my Komodo. I currently use the Vespids but want a zoom to help compliment them. What are your thoughts?
Good question. I currently have the Vespids, the Cattas and the Pictors in my posession and I've shot on them all. I think its only natural for you to go with the Cattas if you've got the Vespids. The reason being, the Cattas have the full frame coverage so IF you go with a larger format sensor (V-Raptor maybe?) you'll have that option wheras with the Pictors...you're tied to S35. Also....you have the option to speedboost the Komodo with the Cattas & Vespids. Not something I'd do personally BUT again, you've got the option :) Thanks for watching! @@joenicklo Thanks so much for all the information! Very helpful. I just subscribed as well! Do the Cattas and the Pictors have a similar look to the Vespids or are they all a little different in their own way? I love the look of the Vespids.
@@joenicklo thats perfect I would greeatly appreciate it, it sort of answers one of my questions . I use mainly Sony Alpha's and I recently got myself a BMPCC 6K Pro and looking into cinema glass to use on both , sony with EF adapter. With the current sale on the Tokina 10-20 and 35-70 kit on sale i'm trying to decide on which image suits me between it and DZOfilm. I'm not to pressed on full frame vs crop sensor as the BMPCC is cropped and i can used those lenses on my Sony FX30. So looking forward to that video and thant yiou for taking ur time to respond ! You're the best !!!
No, these are not the ace. These are the mirror versions. They are the same optics as the ace though. And yes, the footage that you see in this video is client work. The Ford GT footage is from a project that I shot for Haggerty marketplace
When watching a lens review, what do you want to see more of? Example footage from REAL client work or technical test shots in a controlled studio?
What is the difference between these and the Pictor set?
Real client work!

I like the balance you did with the technical specs and illustrated view of the specific topic, great video
Thanks! I appreciate the feedback
Nice review bro! These look like awesome lenses. Planning on trying them in the future for sure.
Thanks for watching. Looking forward to what you do with these lenses.
Great video brotha. I love the look from these lenses, really nice!
Means a lot coming from you!
New background setup looks great!
Thanks! So glad you said that. Put a lot of time into getting it to look how I wanted.

Holy timing batman I've been looking at these.
Well there ya go! 😜
Off topic for this video- but in your experience with the pictor / tokina zooms, which would you own if you just had one set?
No worries. Tokina over Pictors.
Great review as always! If you had to choose between the Tokina cine zooms that you have and these, which one would you choose?

didnt know you could order it with an RF dedicated mount I thought you had to swap and shim it to use it with an RF @@joenicklo

Very interesting, their price point makes them quite enticing
It's a no brainer to get the pair with the price break.

Great video as usual. I would like to see a comparison between these and the Tokina's u reviewed
I might be able to do that with the 25-75 and 35-80 but one is a full frame lens and the other super 35+ coverage.

But the biggest question is what do they taste like?
White chocolate.

White lenses or: "reflections love me, post hates me"
That is a big reason why I won't buy white lenses.
