Honestly having both would be a really good investment in the long run, but as a recent graduate who doesn't have a camera yet I think I'll have to stick to trying to get affordable lenses that can get me started first😂. By the way, what camera would you recommend for a beginner? GH6? S5? or save for an S1H?
What I love about mostly using a prime lens is that I already know how things are framed before I even raise the camera. It makes shooting a lot more intuitive for me. :) It does look like a nice lens. I love my vespid primes.
The images do look nice, but those micro jitters with that physical length and weight... kind of takes handheld filming out of the question unless using a nice heavy shoulder mounted rig (which you did mention). I do know of people who shoot with bigger camera bodies such as an fx6 or fx9 where such large zoom cine lenses work for that (they were using fujinon lenses I believe), so that def could be an option. For me if I wanted a high quality zoom (not neccesarily 'cine' but high quality) at longer length's id go for the canon 70-200 f4, even though it's a bit slower it's optically fantastic, really light and has IS. That or super 35 zoom lenses, much much lighter and very high quality options
Love the video and confirmation! I just literally invested in the 50-125mm for my BMPCC 6K and wrestling with the purchase of a 20-55mm now. But I’m loving the look & results of the one I did get. Your points in regards to usage are correct, but the replacement of single primes with zooms seem the way to go, but not cheap! Thus be the choice of the 20-55mm investment! LOL
I just bought my first 50mm MFT cine lens, combined with the Panasonic 10-25 zoom I feel I have pretty good coverage for my style of shooting. Still I would love to try a 70-180. At some point, however, you just have to say enough is enough and stop chasing squirrels.
You say that in the video, it goes on the s5II without an adapter toward the end of the video. However, I don't see it available for l-mount; only EF and PL. Could you clarify if you are using some sort of mount adapter or not? Thanks
@@SamHolland Lol, sorry for another question. I really appreciate you getting back to me on the last one. That said, where did you get that extended plate for your ronin that accommodates this monster?
Sam, how do you record your camera screen directly? Do you plug it in to a PC and record the screen? If you could answer me that I would be very happy ^^. This Lens has definitely a purpose. I think it is a great Lens for people who work a Lot with a Camera. For Hobby enthusiasts is it probably to big and heavy.
I would personally buy the Tamron 35-150mm F2.8-F4 in both Nikon F mount and Canon EF mount and adapt it to Panasonic S5, Panasonic S5 Mark 2 and Panasonic S5 Mark 2 X. For the Sony A74 I would purchase the Tamron 35-150mm F.2-F 2.8 .
I might go with the Pictor Zoom 20-55, a little more in my price range. Sam, with the Catta’s, did you have to tweak the infinity focus at all or was everything good from the off?
They produce a great look! How does Lumix handle stabilisation with these lenses? Do they communicate focal length to the camera so it can adjust IBIS levels? or is there some compromise there?
Honestly it was a bit tricky to get steady shots at tighter focal lengths but that’s natural. As I stated in the video it’s best to rig these up with a cage and proper weight distribution if going hand held 🙏🏻🎥
DZO no doubt is a great maker of lenses and especially if you look at their MFT zoom, it's a great match for the GH5s. Why the 5s? Because IBIS is not connected to the lens. That means every time you zoom in, you ruin your IBIS because you will need manually type in the focal length AFTER EACH ZOOM! If you skip this, your image will be wobbly. Therefore, you wanna probably turn off your IBIS anyways... Other than that, good lenses and would be my top choice if i was a on-the set type of independent guy. I'm just a scrub baby youtuber/hobbyist so haha.
Which one would you go for, 35-80, or 70-135? :) tell me why...
Both ..... Just because I want too 😂
Why not both with the Tamron 35-150 F2-2.8? Amazing lens that is worth the cost
@@RamTengri I dont believe that is a Cinema Lens is it ?

@@afrikiya_visions if you can afford an s5, go for it! I just bought mine a couple of weeks ago and its just amazing

Great video mate, love the colours in the sample footage 👌🏻
Thanks brother 🙏🏻🎥
That snow effect at the beginning was soooo good! ☃
😂 thanks. You could say it was snooooow good 😛😂 sorry! 🌨⛄️
Awesome vid Sam! I definitely live that frustrating life of changing prime lenses haha these lenses look great. Always enjoy your content! 🍻
Haha you know what I mean!!
Thank you brother 🙏🏻🎥🤩
These are really interesting! T2.9 constant is tasty for a zoom lens 📸
Thanks Emily 🤩🙏🏻🎥
I was just about to buy those lens. So Thanks for the good review.
Can you make a video about , what's in your camera bag? What gear do you use?
Sure thing. Is there anything you’d want to see specifically?
I have loads of videos coming early Jan so stay tuned 🤩 it’s gonna be exciting 🎥

I have dzo 20-55 ,50-120.It's really efficiency when shooting for client.
so when you were on the topic of focus breathing, why didn't you do the example with the Catta?

This is correct. The Catta zoom lenses can be bought in L Mount version 🙏🏻🎥 no adapter required

Do you need adapter for Lumix S5?
Hi. No they have an L mount 🤩🎉🎥
@@SamHolland wow do you have the link for the right lens for L mount because I can’t find
Now they look like quality lens would love one of each and give them a blast shame I just brought another Camera Body and 2 new lens 😁

Hey. I use the ninja v to record the screen - ruclips.net/video/rNG4Hk2u08A/видео.html
it would be nice if they had a mount for sony mirrorless cameras not a fan of adapters
Great video! Made fall in love with those 2 right away!
🤩 amazing!
informative 10mins. thank Sam.
Thanks John 🙏🏻🎥🤩
How does the ibis work while zooming. I noticed that the lens doesn't tell the camera what focal length it's at. So how does the ibis work?
Hi , my dzofilm zoom has a filter on (by default). but I can't find what kind of filter it is???
What is the cost for these lenses?
Love it! Although you didn’t say the price 😢
Unless I missed it 😊
Which camera do you use Lumix s5 or the Lumix gh6?
S5 🎥
Why?
