My rule of thumb re ranking predictions is that if you're within 3 either way, that's pretty accurate.

If Miami is a top 15 team, then Syracuse must be too. Look at where Miami and Syracuse are ranked. They both went 10-3, Syracuse won the head to head and beat multiple ranked teams. Miami didn't beat any good teams. I can't see how Miami should be ahead of Syracuse.

I guess a regular season rivalry game in their heads has some kind of correlation with a post season national championship. I’ve never heard of someone try and link the two together. Although, I guess when a “mighty” program like Michigan as of late can only claim one title this century, sharing one with Nebraska in the 90’s and rest of their accomplishments pre 1950’s…. This is brain dead, we’re nothing but hopeful and nobody is whiny we all think we had an amazing season, Michigan beat one of the best ohio state teams with fucking Davis Warren. do you even KNOW how impressive that is? Anyways nobody is whining because we’re not top 25. We love being underdogs. It’s probably the thing we’re best at.

While it’s very entertaining as a Big 12 fan, unfortunately watching my team (Kansas) start 1-5 was some of the worst time I’ve had in being a fan, ending 4-2 and effectively ruining 2 other teams’ playoff hopes was incredible.
All that being said, next year’s B12 championship game will be Cincinnati vs TCU because of course it will be.

There were zero elite teams this year. Shades of 2007. Ohio State had a good CFP run, but let’s not pretend any of those teams were juggernauts.
OSU lost 2 games, one to an unranked team. They are only the 2nd 2 loss NC ever I believe.

Indiana at 10 is hilarious. They will come in next season with a good rank that’ll only prop up Penn State after Penn losses to Oregon and Ohio State. I’m calling it now. A two loss Penn State is going to claim a win over a ranked at the time Indiana is why they should be in the CFP.
Hasn’t that been happening in the SEC for at least 20-25 years? I’m not hating, I always thought that the SEC was the best conference but the polls and the media still inflated their rankings to keep them at the top of the rankings in case they lose to another inflated ranked SEC team.

The AP final poll will always matter, both for history sake and consistency. Also, it clarifies where all the teams ended up after the CFP and Bowl games. You can't use the CFP final seedings which were confusing, idiotic, and inaccurate.
Nothing wrong with looking at the final CFP playoff bracket, and also the final rankings. 20 years from now, it's much simpler to look at the rankings.

You really have to cut yourself some slack with Alabama. If you told me that Alabama would beat Georgia, but lose to Vanderbilt at home the next week, that's like alternate reality Twilight Zone level of no way. I would have asked you what color the sky is in your world.

Do the top 25 more as playoff contenders. Teams you think are locks, 80% , 60% chance and so on. Will pair well with your season team by team previews and predictions.
How is texas above georgia?
They lasted longer in the playoffs. Also prolly bc they gave OSU the toughest test in the playoffs while UGA got little embarrassed by ND
@VeryGoodDeals texas was forced to play more games against teams ranked lower than them like arizona state and clemson because texas was worse than georgia. Both texas and georgia lost to teams that made it to the natty. Head to head still needs to matter, especially if georgia won the head to head multiple times in the same season.
Tennessee has 2 top 10 finishes in three years. I think most fan bases would take that. Offseason this year hasn't been great for us so we will have to see what 2025 holds.

Considering the success athletes have had by gaining that extra year because of Covid shouldn’t they consider allowing them to play one more year? Think of all the guys that would possibly not even be in the league right now if they didn’t have that extra year to develop and now they are the face of the teams future plans. Penix Jr, Daniels, Ward (soon)Nix etc Unlike with the NBA an extra year of development clearly makes a big difference for college players to make the NFL.
