How to bandage and ice a sprained knee

Instant pain relief. Have no idea what happened to my knee. Over the last week just kept on getting more and more swollen. I had been working underneath my car putting new fog lights in must have kneel down on my knees 20 times in 3 days this started about 5 days later. So how long can I leave that ace bandage on it's got the velcro tape too
