@@yeabah I meant it generally. For instance when you can get a fansub of an Anime, that's always way superior to professional translations. Because fans don't care whether you understand the cultural implications or not. That way you can actually learn about a different culture and understand the way of thinking.
I'm not watching this particular video again, but as far as I remember the question was, how she ranks the interviewer, not the interview, so I guess it's some kind of pc bull. Don't judge people or so. And I think Akane answered with katai, which I would translate as (a bit) stiff. Maybe you can get away with formal. No idea. You can get your own picture, if you check the word yourself. written in Japanese, it's かたい. That you can put into some translators, if you want.
