This video failed to mention that Sun Yu retired at the age of 25 due to her injuries not long after that match where Marin accused her of faking her injuries. Marin's accusation has always been baseless. She herself is guilty for delaying tactics, but hates it when others do it to her. She is not just rude, but also hypocritical.

@@Mulknwan In phycology, this is called 'projection', whereby a person projects their own thoughts and behavior onto another person. She thinks her opponent is purposely delaying the game by employing these kind of tactics, because this is exactly what she would do (or done) if it was her. That's why she was so sure that's what other people would for sure do too. What she fails to understand is, not every player is as classless as her. It's kind of sad because as most would agree, she has one of the best talent in this sport. She could do so much more to this sport had she be a better person on court (I don't know how she is off-court so I won't judge that).

If, at any point, the majority of sports fans want a player to lose, there is something off about that player. For Marin, as amazing as her athletic track record has been, the perception of her is so negative because of her atrocious behavior on court. The shouting, the taunting, the lack of sportsmanship, the constant abuse of loopholes to stretch out or mess with the game's flow. There's a great reason people like Tai Tsu Ying and Intanon are being seen as soon of the most respected and respectful players in the sport. Marin, by comparison, just falls far underneath that standard.

It's kind of a poetic justice when Marin never cared for the injuries of her opponents, rather blamed them for delaying and to finally get the same injury(ACL) not just once but thrice.
She's actually way worse. Always carried a haughty face and thought she was better than every other player. There a bunch of videos about the mind games she plays with the opponents starting with delay tactics, pushing the shuttle outside the court instead of properly returning it to the opponent after losing the rally, running and picking the shuttle from the opponent's side after winning a rally, scolding the opponents after they win the match if they go and shake the hand of their coach instead of coming and shaking hands with her first, because she is supposed to be the most important person even in the opponents' life and a plenty of other tactics and delusions.
She treated everyone with disdain. I don't think she has ever heartily congratulated an opponent. Mostly she'd just use the fingers for a handshake after losing and not her hand. She is someone who cared only about her; so selfish and arrogant.
I wish she hadn't been injured but continued playing and that some players had stood up to her. I wish she had lost most of her matches and every other player she faced screamed more than her, pushed the shuttle outside the court, taunted her in every possible way that she had always treated her opponents. I'm sad that none of that happened.

I don‘t believe in Karma. However I was extremely glad that CM was not part of the Olympic Final. Simply because the finalists (and their behavior) influence thousands of young athletes and I find her antics deplorable at best.
I sincerely hope she is gone from the big stage of badminton for good, simply because imho the loss of her as a supremely talented player does not outweigh the negative influence her behavior has on future generations of players.
