Except the Bogeyman isn't trying to murder. It's literally spelled out in the episode that it's designed to scare. It never actually attacks anyone, it just makes them frightened and gives chase, it's designed to scare, not kill. Because it's a childrens story come to life and the childrens story wouldn't have the children eaten or killed.
@@burgunbeerd Why does there always have to be exactly? Can we not just have a fun story that doesn't have stakes and is rather self contained and happy ending?
Episode 2 kinda fucks with any attempt to make this an intro as it's a direct sequel to the giggle which means piss all unless you're already care about Tennant so IDK how well this will work as an intro. As a whole I'm pretty worried about this era as bar Wild Blue Yonder every episode has felt to varying degrees kinda derivative and rushed. I feel the show needs fresh blood. I feel like most Doctors and companions felt like they had more definition by episode 3.
The doctor can travel through all of space and time, except to where/when Gallifrey or other Time Lords actually existed or were themselves traveling through all of space and time. Conclusion being that the Time Lords must be avoiding them.
A man child can not play Dr who, Nctui is a single note, There no Family of blood Or Day of the Doctor Or Even speech of Akhaten or Racnoss drowning speech in him. He just a singular queer and here energy like its 2000s queer ete for straight guy. Its doesn't bring the emotional baggage of a war victim/war hero/genocider. Nctui is the compete inverse of "Because I'm the last of my species, and I know how that sits in a heart. So don't insult me" and its not working for me.
The doctor isnt supposed to be constantly depressed and angry you know the whole show is about change and how anybody can play the doctor and we only have 3 episodes whats wrong with some fun
It's got big "companions second episode" energy haha. Amy's was a big window though whereas these are both blast shielded viewports with blonde girls ;P completely different!
It'd definitely be interesting. I watched and enjoyed "The Sign". I honestly thought it was borderline not a kidshow anymore because of that episode but my 4 year old niece watched it 5 times that day so
@@burgunbeerd Yeah Bluey was originally going to be a adult show but it evolved over time to what it is today. It's amazing how much goes into the writing and visual storytelling. So much detail that people pick up on that goes on in the background and what doesn't get said by the characters. It really is a show that anyone can get into. I honestly think there are times Doctor Who can learn a thing or two from Bluey.
I dislike the new 'storytelling' (sic) intensely but I think it's a bit churlish to say it's ALL down to unoriginality: I notice you have End of The World in the thumbnail - just watching along waiting for the mention of it - however the similarities with that and say - time paradox and motives as in Father's Day are deliberate stylistic conceits and reference points (rather like the use of the radio telescope and the policeman in the cliffhanger echoed previous key moments in Logopolis as a more subtle example of this trick in actual Classic Who). Disney season 1 is deliberately emulating BBC New Series 1 from the 2000s - the bit with Ruby's phone being the most blatant paralell. Amongst the currently perceived awfulness it's the one noticeable gift or reward that RTD has deliverately given to the long standing fans from either that time or the Classic Series. Also it conversely may act as a reward for the new audience if they go back almost 20 years by way of second hand nostalgia.
@@burgunbeerd you were both making fantastic points & had excellent knowledge on doctor who but just wasnt able to hear it all 😂 i have adhd so i understand that excitable need to get your point out lol ill give you guys a sub for replying so nicely 💗
your videos are great! but you guys talk A LOT over each other, i wanna understand what each one is saying but its impossible at times :( example: 18:06 - 18:12
Yeah this was our first record together in a while and had way too much to say haha. We definitely got better at not talking over eachother for the following reviews. Sorry!
4:41 That's not a "fair criticism" for anyone but a Khom. Charity exists. "The Right" is exceedingly charitable. Khoms don't believe in charity, they believe the government should be "charity", but the government gets its money stealing the labour of the citizen (irony of ironies: khoms hate when business "steals labour" but long for Big Bruvva to steal it from them), so really it's compelled-charity which isn't charity at all.
You can dislike it all you want but, its designed that way because ot has a track record of working. It isnt however a bad episode its completely run of the mill as a matter of fact.
Ep1: Goblin King tries to murder a baby. The Doctor executes him.
Ep2: Boogeyman tries to murder a baby. The Doctor must save him!
They're giving him some of that Chibnall era morality ahah!

It's always fun to find out there were never any stakes in a story. Yipee!

@@chazo1367yes, because without stakes the story is meaningless

I agree with the title he is running out of ideas.
I miss Rose
I really hope you mean the original and not Jason lol 😂
That thumbnail shot has also appeared several other times. The Beast Below comes to mind. It's a good shot.

Great episode! Curious to see what you think of future episodes! New subscriber :)
Great video guys :D
Scorchio 🙂
I am a new fan i was not grabbed 16:24
Episode 2 was soooo much better I don't understand why they opened with this BOREFEST!
Devil's Chord was much more interesting but won't escape our criticism. Hopefully that reviews up tomorrow
Episode 1 was "42" remade by Dick and Dom In Da Bungalow...
6:40 Love the Bluey shout out!! The kids who play the characters are absolutely awesome 😎👍
Now THATS a show we should be reviewing!
@@burgunbeerd Yeah go for it! Bluey recently did a half hour special and wrapped up it's third season. So there's plenty to review and look at 😁
