You know, it’s funny, I used the neck pick up in this video - this may be the first time I’ve ever done something with the neck pick up on that guitar in a video. Because I find it dark sounding. But it was perfect for this tone!

You should make a compilation of your pedal demo : it would sell like hot cakes.
The constant playback heads switching from mono to stereo and back uncontrollably could be annoying if one is relying on the stereo image... But otherwise, it sounds good.
Sounds fantastic as usual. This pedal sounds like the delay is modulating between mono in the center and then it fans out into a super wide stereo image with the right side phase reversed like on a TC2290, but it modulates unpredictably while you are playing it. That is very unusual, but definitely something to check out in person. For your amp sound, are you using two instances of the NAM vst plugin by chance?

Sound good. Disappointing they don’t just sell algorithms for our delay and reverb pedals we already bought (golden and starlight) instead of all new pedals.
I’m sure they’d RENT the pedals algorithm to you if they could figure out a way. UA isn’t the most customer friendly company. MIDI what? Pfff, you don’t need that… More than one preset? Pshaw.
Are you guys for real?? I've never heard this argument for ANY other company... Boss, Strymon, Jam, Maxon, Origin, etc., etc. 'Hey! Why can't you just update my DIG so that I can the El Capistan sounds out of it??? I have to buy ANOTHER one??? pfff, you've lost a customer!!!' 🙄😵💫
@@m.charron It’s not my specific gripe, but it is something I’ve wondered about, given that there are companies who do basically let you reprogram the pedals, Line 6for instance. Digital pedals aren’t analog pedals so there honestly isn’t a real reason not to, besides pure profit motive.

I feel like the Volante’s features like panning/vol for individual heads beats this out but there’s something to be said for the tone here with simpler controls and the reverb wins
Hi! Would you consider this pedal better in sound than the boss? Do you think that the lack of extra reveb options would make this a lesser pedal tor studio production use? Or could those reverbs easily be replaced by plugins? Thanks !!!
Well, generally, with regards to your second question, it sounds different running reverb into an amplifier, either in front or in the FX loop… so it’s not the same as using plug-ins.
With regards to comparison to the boss, I’ve never directly compared, so I’m just not sure I would have to put them both together in a direct A/B

Groovy sounding pedal. $350-$400 US with no midi capability seems odd. How nice would it be to have these work together without dancing like a grape. I'm probably not the market for these, clearly. Nice playing as always.

Downloaded app. Could not create an account tried 5 times. Got no support. Deleted the shitty app
you need to hook it up to your computer first to register it then the app will work on the phone which is how i had to do the UA golden

Congrats Pete!!! You were one of 18 (eighteen) channels today that uploaded content, at nearly the same time and following the same script, about the new UA pedals.
Perhaps you should start to "identify as a woman" because they flew some woman out to UA headquarters to "demo" these same pedals. Looks like they only paid you and sent them to you as opposed to sending you to them.
And they say women have it harder in music than men........Boobs for the win!!!.....That being said, you were smoother with the prepared points than Michael Nielsen was. He kept playing a note for note copy of "boys of summer' and stammering about. Not that Don Henley has ever filed copy write claims. Sucks to be him.
@2:12 the pedal is not the only thing ocsillating. UA is oscillating ALL OF THE CONTENT MAKERS/SCHILLS TO informercial these pedals. Just think of the budget that UA used to roll these out. That means that the consumer is getting "but raiped" if they purchase these.

@@PeteThorn Pete, A sincere thank you for your reply and good humour. That being said, you are destroying consumer buying power. By accepting sweetheart deals from UAD, and then following their script; you deny the consumer an HONEST review of the pedals. Because nobody is there to call UAD on any flaws, UAD continues to produce "just good enough" pedals instead of pushing the boundaries and creating and developing the best products for consumers. AND because UAD spent at least 100K on the rollout promotion of these pedals, the consumer pays more for a pedal. Those are my points. I hold you accountable for this. And I politely ask you to stop taking payments for reviews. There is no way you can give an honest review about a product when you are being supplied said product and paid by said company. Pete, you are my last hope, because Michael Neilsen is going to be sued by Don Henley for ripping off Boys of Summer. I can't believe MN was dumb enough to play a nearly note for note version of a song from a guy who is well known for suing everyone into oblivion. You are the last hope. Please think about the ethics of what you do and how it destroys consumer equity in the process. I beg you. Please stop.
