TC2290, a Roland RSP550, or any great Roland Delay like the SDE, and a pedal called Specular Tempus or something like that. It has great ambience vibes.
I'm going Reverb then Delay.. Strymon Flint into the Timeline or Free the Tone Future Factory. Both Dotted 1/8th and 1/4 settings. And for some real interesting sounds run both delays and set the second delay BPM at 1/2 the rate of the other!! Explore that Leon and Enjoy!!
I just got a Del-Verb and it looks like it can sound awesome! Unfortunately, without Windows support, I don't have access to any of this! I sure wish that Universal Audio would start supporting Windows again!🤔
You're seriously such an incredible player. Love the way you explain pedals, you really get a feel for what they can do after watching. I learned so much about my H90 from you. These sound awesome... Cheers
The Del-Verb has the best Spring reverb I have ever heard and the other 2 are cool too, and I love it just has the one knob. And the Delay side is great too. If they had just added a dotted 8th feature, i could have sold my other delays. But it does sound fantastic for slap and if I just need a quarter note delay. But, its awesome. With my Halo delay, that has all my delay needs covered. Still want to keep my Timeline though for home use.
Thanks for the demo of the Galaxy Leon. It does this really weird thing where a single delay head echo sounds like its centered in the middle, almost mono, and then like every 10 seconds or something the image widens into super wide stereo and the delay sounds like its at the edges of the stereo image with the two sides out of phase for an extra wide stereo image. So strange though, how it goes wide stereo for only a second and then returns to sounding mono again. I wonder what they were thinking with that? The practical applications of that momentary stereo widening are minimal if any in the context of actual music. The actual sound of the echo repeats and tape echo wow and flutter sounds more accurate than the Strymon Volante to my ears, but that "Momentary Stereo" weirdness is a blunder.
I’ve been using one live a lot lately and I’ve been able to dial in exactly what I want with it: a semi set it and forget it wide and lush (but not in the way) studio rack style ambience with tap tempo for the stereo tape.
The Collider is phenomenal. Such a well-thought-out pedal. My favorite features were that I could run a delay in front and a reverb in the loop or put both sides on delay and run an EP style delay in front with a Digi in the loop. mine but
This is the 1st video I have seen of you. Loved it. You are a great demo guy (and very tasty player!!). I have been sliding over to the dark side of the pedalboard (from Strymon to UA) and am completely blown away by the UA stuff. The Galaxy is next for me. I have the MAX (x2), Stomp (x2), Dream, Astra, Starlight & 1176. I thought my Strymon board was the Holy Grail until I became smitten with the UA pedals. Personally, I think they sound better overall than the Strymons. Even the Golden gives the BigSky a run for its $$$! And that's no easy feat. Happy to subscribe to your channel and like. Looking forward to more from you. Will dig in tonight. Thanks mate. Cheers and regards from Stratford, Ontario, Canada. 😎✌🎸
The del-verb had some creatiive patches at the end of your video that I can see would life exiting. But then would be very associated with just that song. 😊
It’s taken me a while to really understand UA’s design choice/ethos. It’s really easy to be influenced by all the ‘Internoise’ which in the guitar effects world, seems to be largely comprised of voices that choose to be agnostic just for the sake of it. A lot of those voices will hail Strymon from the rooftops as being the ‘be-all-end-all,’ holy pantheon of modulation and time-based effects ….in some cases justifiably so. However I’ll say that in my opinion, these two pedals by UA are FKN BRILLIANT and for what they do and how they’re doing it, they have no equal …ZERO equal.
would be nice if you made a video about all the delays and other catagories of fx just a short music clip where u show some sound them. i cant find a video like that.
Slowly catching up with your vids. You know I'm busy when I can't even make time for Leon Todd vids. :D Love the sounds from both, but you know you got me hooked with the synthwave jam. "River Of Darkness"? It's just made for jamming over.
The pricing of these just really stumps me. In the studio I have access to plugins which sound just as good for a lot less money. Then live, for the price of these you can get a Helix Stomp for just a bit more and have a whole chain of high quality fx, not just a single effect.
That galaxy sounds awesome man.. Loved that jam at the start that reminds me of Pink Floyd.. Your cat was in the back ground having a nervous break down trying to get clean. 😛 He or She finally quit and took a nap while you were playing.. 😛 Very cool gadgets. @@LeonTodd thank you mate, u just got a new subscriber ;) Also, u gotta bring back ‘sensitive sundays’, that jam over the galaxy pedal was crazy inspired and melodic 🤘🏼
Hi Leon, the UAFX video is not on Patreon as you said, there are only two other videos uploaded in June but no this, hence how do I find the backing track you used for the jam with the Galaxy pedal? I thought it was going to be listed on the video info on patreon but the video is just not there :/
I have golden, Astra and Starlight don’t get why they keep pumping these out At this price point there seems to be a lack of essentials The starlight lacks multitap I guess there’s a bit on this but not like real tape boxes, bit confused by UA Need midi these days and the ability to save presets is a no brainer The starlight allows saving one on the unit but there is the app, although I need to keep switching Between each of the three pedals on the app unless you using 3 separate iPhones/iPads Kinda feel those original offering are better suited for the studio I don’t think the nuances will be noticed or needed live
Well, I've had a Hall of Fame for years and a Flashback, but was never very pleased with the sounds of both these pedals. The UA pedals (Galaxy and Del-Verb) blow the TC pedals straight out of the water. And it's all in one pedal with all the sounds I need anyway.
@lookmanostrings well yes, it's of course very subjective. But more importantly: the 2 TC Electronic pedals together will cost you 280 euros too.. and that's the same that I've paid for my UA Del-Verb (well, 289 to be fair).
Happy Sunday! What's your dream delay/verb combo?

Analogman ARDX20 into a UA Golden. I used to have a Timeline, but I found myself on the analog delay 99% of the time.

I noticed that too, it's like the modulation kicks in but then it all gets summed back down to mono. Must be a bug?
@@LeonTodd I noticed the exact same behavior in Pete Thorn's demo video and others which leads me to believe that it's intentional.

Idk.. Eventide and Strymon already have better pedals on the market.
UA has a lot of enclosures they want to get rid of, it seems. So they'll slap anything into them and charge 500 bucks 😂 😂 😂
