    Beard oil is for the skin under the beard. Not the beard itself. You go up underneath the beard and apply to the skin as best as possible. Nothing wrong with some of the oil going in the beard, as it will naturally. But the bulk of it should be applied to the skin. It’s to replenish the natural oils we lose through washing, weather, sweat, etc. A beard butter is for the actual beard. Also I’d recommend a wooden comb over a pick. Solid instructional video otherwise, and great beard, brother.

    The "outline" cheek line part.. Do it once or twice then *stop* . Keeping "just a little more on this side" will destroy your beard.
    It will never be 100% the same on both sides.
    Also, beard oil isn't for the beard, it's for what's beneath it, your skin.

    • @LGPanthers1
      @LGPanthers1 4 года назад +12

      That's the truth; remove the less dense growth up the cheeks and then make MINOR adjustments on one side, check, then even more minor adjustments on the other side and stop there. Going any further risks really cutting into the growth area, no matter what.

      What if a bearded person started to grow long hair as well, double the effort right. I'm one of them, but after growing it I really appreciate women and men who has long hair, realize how hard to maintain it.
      By the way, the father of that lady in your profile picture is a great example why long hair and beard suit men very well.

    I've been using this technique for a while now but my beard is getting long and looks silly with the long middle. It just doesn't match the sides anymore. I'm going to have to trim the middle to make it look right which is a bummer. For a really long beard, do I just stop trimming the sides at some point? Feels like a beard mullet right now. Long in front, shorter on the sides.
