I took baby steps. Little here and alittle there. After a couple weeks I was able to fully trim and it look pretty good. This video was very informative and helpful
Thanks to you I finally realized what I’ve been doing wrong…I never went vertical with my guard, I always followed my skin. I need to bring it straight down outside the beard instead. Thanks!!
Personally, I think shaving the neck is only if you intend to keep a short beard at around this length. Otherwise, all shaving the neck will do is result in constant maintenance and itching. Those neck stubbles will come in and require almost daily trimming, and are in the worst place to have stubble. If a person is growing a longer beard, you don't need to shave the neck, only shape it, when you're at the length you want. Shaping a neck too early can constrict the beard to a non natural shape and make you think you're trimming excess when you're actually trimming your natural shape. This can make the difference between an OK beard and an epic beard.
Thank you. I'd been doing the sides with scissors and never felt like they were adequately straightened. Clippers with guides are a much easier approach, and I felt like it sped up the process dramatically.

great tips i did exactly what u said and my beard even tho not as full looks way more presentable! thx !!
After watching this I decided to try trimming my own beard for the first time. Was so worried I would mess up and go around looking like a fool because I won't get rid if my beard lol. I took baby steps. Little here and alittle there. After a couple weeks I was able to fully trim and it look pretty good. This video was very informative and helpful
10 weeks...
My beard looks in 1 yeahr like yours..
Nice Video mister
“I’m afraid that what heard me say was, ‘give me a few napkins.’ What I actually said was, ‘Give me all the napkins you have.’"
This was the most valuable video I've watched this year. Thanks.
WGat a well crafted, entertaining, and instructive video. A model for how to produce an educational program.
I’m 2 months into my beard journey, it’s been awesome and this video really helped me out.
13:00 He looked like Captain Price before he tamed his beard.
i came to look for this comment!
GG bro
in cosmo school we aren’t doing men’s cuts specifically but i love it!! gonna take a barber class after my school year ends! sick tutorial 🤘🏻
Today I started with a trimmer to carve out the shape out of my 10 weeks old beard..ended up shaving it all😭
I felt this
Happens all the time! Dooooonnnttttt touch it!
I think any man who has grown a beard had this step one way or another.
Thank you so much for this video. I served 20 years in the military. It’s kinda funny how I’m 40 years old and I’m just now learning how to grow/cut a beard. 😂
The most important part: I don't take my hat off while grooming my beard.
Lol!
As someone who grew for months the first time a beard. This video helped alot to tame the red beast on my face. Thank you for that video
This may be a rookie mistake on my part, but unless the clipper lengths are different here in the UK but,the idea of 2 or 3 anywhere near my beard terrifies the life out of me
Huge difference if you shave down with the grain rather than up and against it. You take much less off.
My dad can’t grow a beard so I’ve never really had anyone who could show me how to trim it. 😂 this was insanely helpful, thank you!!
Once you learn to shape up your beard is the moment you win in life as a man.
That's gonna take a lot of trials. At least my beard grows fast.
This is what I've been looking for! Thanks.... I've had a beard for a couple decades... but you are giving me the finer art.
