I had teachers like the one at 1:50. Their teaching skills included my brain back and forth to make room for all that new information we need to learn, like when to duck and really piss 'm off. Ah, good times.
That "teacher" who threw a hissy fit when her pronunciation was corrected must have gotten her teaching certificate from the same place as my kindergarten teacher in 1951. I had figured out how to read before even going to school. When I politely asked for something to read, she got snotty and said that I "wasn't allowed" to read. That's why my parents bought a set of encyclopedias the following year, so I could re-boot my brain after coming back home from that nonsense that continued into first grade.
“ What people say is not enough, what evidence is there?” Young people need better critical thinking skills. All kinds of nonsense is believed these days

Lol! I remember having substitutes in Latin class. Nary a one could speak/write a word of Latin. They'd usually tell us to read our textbook, do the assigned exercise or do other work. Sometimes we'd all just shoot the breeze 'til the buzzer rang. But actually teach us any Latin? Rarely! I loved when we had subs. :-D
1:56-2:00 *Teacher* Now we start with “Ar- Kansas” *Little Girl* (raise her hand and stood up) Excuse me, but it’s pronounced “Arkansah” *Teacher* (wide crazy eyes)WHAT DID YOU SAY?! Oh, dear God almighty I’m dead! 😂🤣

honestly being strict isn’t unusual in asian schools, it’s actually sort of great kids grow up to be independent and disciplined, i know it could damage someones mental health or it’s not the same for anyone, but i find it challenging and it gives me something to do rather than sitting infront of the screen 24/7.
Calculus? Doubt it! At 1:50, that teacher was so mean, she made me anxious just hearing her speak.

After teaching just under 30 years this is fascinating and fun! Thank you so much for posting! :)
thanks for your contribution to education.
