Heyman said if you didnt want to know the truth, don't ask CM Punk because he'll tell you, and in no uncertain terms. This was just the latest example. So Punk shines the light of truth on things, the "Elite" does a lot of backstage whispers. How do you combat lies - you just confront them. Dont back off from them, stand your ground. Punk does that, has done that, and doesn't care if people dont like it or not. HE knows his own actions, and what the facts are, as for what others say/do that's their problem.
people often confuse being an untactful asshole with being "honest". if you really think the guy who is the #1 at a promotion should go on TV, bury the entire company, and make the owner look like a tool, then I'm not sure what to say to you. there is a right and wrong way to do things just because someone wrongs you doesn't give you carte blanche to act however you want. even assuming punk was 100% correct with what he said (which none of us actually know), the way he handled the situation was completely wrong. lets not even get into the assault that occurred afterwards and if anyone ever needed to smoke a fucking joint it's probably CM Punk. he comes across as an extremely immature person who sees everything in black and white and is incapable of recognizing his own mistakes

I don't know what people expected to happen here. If you poke Punk he will take a flamethrower to you. He felt the EVPs were fucking with him. So of course he is not going to remain silent. What did Colt Cabana do to Punk the last month?
@@Karimmeout I think he just brought up Cabana because he was upset that supposedly Paige, the Bucks and Omega leaked to people that he’s responsible for getting Cabana pulled from AEW and sent down to ROH because of their bad falling out followed by the lawsuit drama.
The problem is, punk just decided to do it, nobody asked him, nobody even mentioned the evps, the only time colt was mentioned was just in passing, in all honesty it seemed like punk was going into this wanting to start

I feel like Cody Rhodes left for reasons that mirror CM Punk's issues with the EVPs, but Punk is just a lot less professional than Cody is. Cody just said screw it and punched his ticket back to WWE without burning bridges. He appeared to agree with a lot of what Punk said (and so do I.) I don't think Tony would cry if Omega, the Bucks and Page were to follow through on their threats to leave AEW. Honestly, I think it would probably be for the best. AEW has outgrown them, they're not the top dogs anymore and they don't like it.
35:52 2 years later and yeah, seems Kenny was the only one who wanted to actually sit down with Punk, talk it out and do business.
It’s crazy how the guy who says he shouldn’t be an EVP is actually the one that best behaves like one out of the 3 of them.
Great time to re-visit this. Amazing how badly Tony let this thing spiral out of control.
Somebody had to do it. I remember the early days of CM Punk in ROH. He was undoubtedly an "indy darling". Same for Danielson, Samoa Joe, Christopher Daniels, and others. The difference was that they busted ass in the ring, had great matches, and made their ways to the top. The Young Bucks and Kenny Omega dragged Adam Page behind them, found a mark with endless cash who wanted to be buddies, and opened a fed for themselves to play in. Cody going back to WWE should spell that out for everyone, Punk is just putting into words what most people know to be true. The Bucks and Omega have had ZERO experience doing anything in an American national wrestling company, so why are they EVPs? A fucking joke. Punk's getting hate, but he was asked a question and simply gave an answer people didn't like. This is WORSE than WCW! And we all know how that ended...
At this point i'm starting to believe Tony might have to bring Hogan or bischoff to help him run the promotion
@@mikhailabdurrachman2443 Lol. If I turn on AEW and see Bischoff in his black hair dye,Donny Osmond look, then I’ll watch for 5 minutes and then be done with wrestling forever.

Are you serious? The Bucks and Omega haven't put in work. I get that they have some fault in this and that they may have been running rampant behind the scenes (though it is unclear if that is really the case, as the word was that Cody left because he lost creative control as an EVP). But Cornette's youtube page has become the home for paranoiac Elite hate. It really appears that CM Punk started a lot of shit with a lot of guys.
I am from Chicago. CM Punk got me back into wrestling. But after Danielson's retirement, NJPW kept me in it. I am not going to lay everything at the feet of these guys when Punk behaved about as unprofessionally as any wrestler has in a while and AEW has been putting on the best American wrestling show for a couple years.
What's funny is they own the gimmick. They all 4 can walk into WWE and be the Elite. Tony Khan named his company after these guys. Say what you want, they are the reason it was even appealing for CM Punk to go to AEW in the first place. The Elite can walk into any promotion in the world right now. They built the audience that Tony Khan is stringing along.
If Punk isn’t afraid to go toe to toe verbally with HHH, why would he hesitate taking these four asswipes behind the woodshed verbally? This was masterful. I wish this was the entire show!! Good stuff! Tony, it’s your move now. Whatcha gonna do? 😆
