I’m a widowed disabled boomer. Believe it or not I listen for entertainment. You two are a hoot. Retired have my finances in order. I find Rachel’s laughter infectious & it’s good for old ppl to laugh. George your humor is also infectious. Keep up the great money information it really is common sense but it appears not many people have any of that these day’s. I have grandchildren your age & will often send them your you tube videos. It’s nice to see there are young people like the two of you. I’m sure both sets of parents are very proud of both of you.
My dad knew the Oxyclean guy back in the day. My dad hadn’t talked to him in years, he randomly called my dad two weeks before he died and told him he got saved and became a Christian! Right before he died, crazy 😌
I’m a boomer and I’ve listened/watched all your episodes. Such good advice and helps me keep current so I know what my friends’ kids are talking about 😊
Look into that ridiculous Olivia Jade Giannulli - daughter of Lori Louglin and Mossimo. After her parents committed fraud and bribery to get this silly unqualified girl into USC, her first priority was to post about outfitting a dorm room with products and looking forward to partying. Parents went to prison and sold their house in Bel Air because they were shunned.
“The guy that looks like he is on drugs.” I love how real George is… this podcast really is like a normal chat with friends. Not too performative and polished. Love! ❤️
I'm a boomer and I see influencers - including Ramsey - as the latest form of marketing. On various channels, you promote a successful financial management plan that has worked for you all, and we watch and sometimes decide to try the "product". Although you're paid employees, the company also earns revenue from social media channels, book sales, event tickets, merch, strategic partnerships, etc...You also share stories from your personal experience and life, though at a much lesser degree than influencers.
I'm a boomer (and proud of it). I've listened to every episode of Smart Money Happy Hour. I love the advice, as well as the opportunity to stay on trend. You are my two favorite Ramsey Personalities. Btw, I knew all the songs on your CD, Rachel.
Older Millennial here and OMG, Rachel had me rolling with the Love song collection. Great episode , and definitely a good one to watch on youtube! Keep up the amazing work yall! 👏 Also.. influencer, youtube is not a good get money quick side hustle. Yall are so right. It takes a lot of time and effort! Working a full time job while trying to keep my channel up is tough, but I love my flower farm community.
I am a boomer and I watch several RUclips channels However, I do not purchase items suggested. I do enjoy grocery hauls, saving money and budgeting videos. There was a movie several years ago about influences. 4 actors were hired to " be " a family in an upper middle class neighborhood. They were paid to promote high end brands for everything. It was incredible how people fell in line with their psychology of needing MORE until, one man faced bankruptcy and committed suicide . It was an interesting movie
I’m a middle millennial I grew up watching TV Saturday morning cartoons then watched as the internet took hold and participated as it evolved. I’d argue that an influencer career can simply be understood as a media personality. Having a media company ie this channel, all that it stemmed from and all that will stem from it- will all be normalized. It won’t be a hot new career though it will still be coveted and all who do it well and with good intention will win thus becoming an ✨influencer✨
I love that you have added video to the podcast. I like to see people as they are talking. I got the biggest kick out of Rachel being embarrassed about The Ultimate Love Song Collection and that George actually found it! I would have bought that too Rachel. No shame. 🙂
I know some people who are getting tired of watching influencer hauls (clothing and makeup) and just want influencers to teach them how to be independent and learn how to take care of home to save money. I don't blame them it would be refreshing to see someone teach me on social media how to fix the sink or fix the pipes, etc.
it is surprising you did not talk about the "Dave Ramsey" influencers community. Back in 2015 when i first know about you, it was through them. An american Sarah Nourse, living in europe, and then i discovered chanels like the budget girl, pennies into pearls; his and her money etc. Back in those days i think Rachel was selling wallets for the envellop system. They were selling the erin condren system, the budget stickers, the cash envellops , and finding accomptability from the viewers. They deserved a shoutout as from me they are the one that made me discovers Ramsey etc.. (I am europeen so think are a lillte different for me but the 7 baby steps saved my life)
We need to see one of George’s air fresheners! After this episode, it’s going to be the up and coming way cool influencer merch to have! This episode was so fun! TTYL 😂
I'm 41 and have always had raisins in my cupboard sence moving out of my parents' home. I love them in my oatmeal! And my kids love them also just to eat.
I do post on social media & actively post on my YT channel & as someone that’s been working on it for about 2-3 years, it’s not a get rich quick scheme. It’s a lot of work & staying on top of it is HARD! There’s no way I could quit my day job but I enjoy what I do. The hate is real though, you need to build a tough a skin. First time I went viral on Instagram I got destroyed & it was eye opening. Don’t consider myself an influencer even though I probably would be classified as a micro-influencer. 😅
To answer your question, I am a 61 year old female and think you two are too cute with good information, educating me on how the younger generation thinks! George, you are hilarious and Rachel, you are so sweet.
That thing at the end about stop looking at the phone to prevent buying stuff, same kinda thing I do about not carrying around my bank cards everywhere
Oh my gosh. This was hilarious lol. My own take on it all, is that influences have a lot of sway because it’s like a recommendation from a friend. Especially since lockdowns forced a lot of interaction to be via a screen. So these people can feel like a friend, and their words carry more weight than even a celebrity TV Ad I think.
I'm behind on these episodes but this was a great one 😂😂😂 I also bought from the Seen on TV ads as well as go to the mall store, loved that place. The most favorite purchase was Tae Bo VHS 😂 I begged my mom to get them and gave my allowance for them. I do still have them ❤
I'm a boomer and I watch. I like to hear what 's new in the world - sometimes it doesn't make sense. haha I had to look up bougee or boojie. I understand what you're saying, but that word is new.
Frugal people make their own raisin bran out of store brand bran flakes!!! Organic raisins from Costco are always in our house!! (Look into grapes and raisins- unacceptable levels of pesticides etc unless organic. Conventional raisins ain’t called poison pellets for no reason))
Okay George, so after scrolling down I can see that your assumption that boomers (me too) aren't watching is way off base. Be careful or you might just lose a large percentage of your viewers. Love the rapport you two have. Keep it up.
Rachel, you have to know...I just love you! Bahahaha I'm dying over here!! I thought you were gonna say you bought "Now" But you bought the ultimate love collection. I'm officially dead. 🤣 LOL just to leave some letter lingo here since it's on trend in this episode. 😆
Rachel, I pulled into work laughing at your CD story 😂 good start for the work day. I listened to it again later when I could watch the video and it was even funnier seeing y’all laughing.
Love this but I think this is a bit of a narrow view of influencers. If you dig into the industry you'll learn that there's a massive business plan & strategy behind being an influencer. Many actual influencers cringe at that title. We prefer creators because we're creating (videos, photos, and an actual business) around our passions. The cool thing about the internet is there are so many opportunities, regardless of size, to work with companies, travel, etc. We work hard! (some probably don't though, tbh haha!!) Would love to see a part 2 of this where you tackle the non-insta style influencers. There's so much strategy involved here. Dig into RUclips because there are tons -- happy to connect you to a few of our friends in the space for a different perspective. Cheers!! :)

Love this, what a sweet compliment ❤
My dad knew the Oxyclean guy back in the day. My dad hadn’t talked to him in years, he randomly called my dad two weeks before he died and told him he got saved and became a Christian! Right before he died, crazy 😌
That's so good to know ❤

They skipped over Gen X. I've listened to every episode too
I’m a boomer also!!
@@calkinsfamily2436 Everyone forgets about Gen X. Holderness Family RUclipsrs even have a song about it.
I'm a boomer, too!
“The guy that looks like he is on drugs.” I love how real George is… this podcast really is like a normal chat with friends. Not too performative and polished. Love! ❤️

I would totally put a bumper sticker on my car that said “Rice and Beans” shout out to Dave!
😂I love George! “I like when they’re not too ShamWow” So perfect!😂 He has a way with words. 6:39
I'm so glad that y'all are putting this show on video! Keep up the great work y'all!
Same. I couldn't get into it when I tried it on Ramsey'
s website with no video.
Absolutely agree with you!!
I love George's genuine shock and dismay when Rachel told him the start of her old screen name "lil". Great episode.
I'm a boomer (and proud of it). I've listened to every episode of Smart Money Happy Hour. I love the advice, as well as the opportunity to stay on trend. You are my two favorite Ramsey Personalities. Btw, I knew all the songs on your CD, Rachel.
I’m a boomer and listen to you and Rachel and all of the Ramsey personnel!! All of you are who I listen to while I work everyday
I’m so glad we got this podcast on video. Racheal’s reaction to “The Ultimate Love Song Collection” is priceless. 😂
Yes!!! Seeing it vs. Just hearing it was so much better. I was laughing so hard with her.
i'm 72 and I think you two are adorable. I usually learn someting useful every time I listen and you always make me smile.
57 and hooked on your show as I always laugh and have a smile on my face, and yes I have raisins in my pantry 🙌
Older Millennial here and OMG, Rachel had me rolling with the Love song collection.
Great episode , and definitely a good one to watch on youtube! Keep up the amazing work yall! 👏

*chanting* WE WANT MERCH, WE WANT MERCH
I normally only listen to this on podcast but I had to come to watch the “guilty as charged.” 😂
"Noone under 50 just has raisins." I wanted to oppose but I realised it is true. I'm dying 😂😂😂
The guy in the green shirt is the best 🤣🤣
P.S. “I Swear” is not by Boyz II Men 😜
Hey, I'm a Boomer! Love you guys! I follow several influencers:)
😂😂 Thanks for being real, Rachel. I loved your 2 laughing fits. It made me smile😊
Rachel, I was dying when they put up the CD you bought!!!! But honestly….great song choices. I could totally get behind it. 😂😂😂
Rachel, you are a boomer at heart! lol. Love these two. George needs his own stand up comedy show.
I’d DIE for a George kamel air freshener ! Lol
😂😂😂 his face hanging from the rear view mirror keepin’ your car fresh
I'm a boomer, and I enjoy your show very much.
I want Smart Money Happy Hour merch
I would settle for a random George Kamel pin
George, I’m a boomer (64) and listen to all of the Smart Money Happy Hour shows. Love them!!
Rachel - Thanks for sharing brunchwithbabs. I never had a grandmother. My heart smiles when I see her on my instagram feed.
Rachel, you are more than an influencer, you are a therapist because laughter is the best medicine. 🤣
I died when George said Shamwow. I used to buy ALL the infomercial things on tv!!! 😂😂😂😂😂
I am a boomer and I watch several RUclips channels However, I do not purchase items suggested. I do enjoy grocery hauls, saving money and budgeting videos.

I’m so glad you’re on the video now and not just audio, I’ll watch more often now! 😊

I’m a boomer (66) and I love this show! Somehow found y’all a few months ago. I do know what influencers are…
I love that you have added video to the podcast. I like to see people as they are talking.

I like you George lol
He is so brutally straight forward.
I like your friendship with Rachel. The two of you are funny together
We need to see one of George’s air fresheners! After this episode, it’s going to be the up and coming way cool influencer merch to have! This episode was so fun! TTYL 😂
I totally thought of the same thing! I said watch them sell out and him have to make more! 😂
Love that this is not just audio now 🔥 also, George, I'll take one of those air fresheners 😊
I'm 41 and have always had raisins in my cupboard sence moving out of my parents' home. I love them in my oatmeal! And my kids love them also just to eat.
The raisin slander sent me to the moon 🤣
Omg I always wanted the RonCo set it and forget it rotisserie oven!!! I would legit watch that infomercial every time it came on! Haha!

Boomer here also, love your episodes! Quirky & fun, great tips & ideas!

I am 63 years old and your videos are some of my favorites!
Love ya'll! Keep it Up! I enjoy watching George, Rachel and crew! So much fun!
I'm a boomer and I've watched all your episodes. The videos are great as I enjoy watching Rachel's mannerisms and George's side looks.
Hey, I’m a boomer and I listen to every episode. It’s educational and helps me understand the world of my g’kids.
George, I would click on a link to get whatever hair product you use.
I'm a boomer too. Enjoy your show AND I know what an influencer is.
Oh my gosh. This was hilarious lol.

Yes, please get the mech..
omg as soon as George pulled up the album and read the song list I knew EXACTLY what commercial Rachel was talking about🤣😂
I'm behind on these episodes but this was a great one 😂😂😂 I also bought from the Seen on TV ads as well as go to the mall store, loved that place. The most favorite purchase was Tae Bo VHS 😂 I begged my mom to get them and gave my allowance for them. I do still have them ❤
I'm 10 years younger that a boomer, but you guys are so young and love the content - crack up with some of your as-seen-on-tv confessions too :)
Love listening to you guys and being able to see you too
This was the best episode yet. 😂 The as seen on TV bit was hilarious.
I’m a Boomer (66) and listen all the time! My daughters listen too!
Bahahaha! Just here to say my pantry is full loaded with individual raisin boxes. We love them 😂
Ha ... I am a 76-year-old boomer and I watch you two on "Smart Money Happy Hour". 😂
To be fair......... that cd had some bomb ass songs 😅😅😅

I Bought that same cd set I still listen to it LOVE IT.
I want one of George’s air fresheners!!
This had to be the best episode!! 😂😂😂
"I Swear" was All-4-One, BTW. It's a good one! 😂
Great show! I got a new perspective on the influencer life. It’s a lot of work!! Well done you both!
I'm 59 and I'm listening. I think you two are funny!

I'll take an air freshener! 🙋♀️😂
Also..... about those raisins sitting in my cabinet....
"I think she is doing ok" favorite line from this episode.
Okay George, so after scrolling down I can see that your assumption that boomers (me too) aren't watching is way off base. Be careful or you might just lose a large percentage of your viewers. Love the rapport you two have. Keep it up.
“I think I would start to care if they wrote me a big check” 😂
This episode had me absolutely cracking up 😂 you guys are awesome!
Always Love this listening to this podcast
Rachel, you have to know...I just love you! Bahahaha I'm dying over here!! I thought you were gonna say you bought "Now" But you bought the ultimate love collection. I'm officially dead. 🤣 LOL just to leave some letter lingo here since it's on trend in this episode. 😆
I totally remember those CD collection commercials! I was definitely loling
I'm a boomer and I'm watching... I love Rachel.
We love you guys. Great show. You make us feel like we know you!!
My kids love raisins, so we always have stock. 😂
Great show! Thanks!
Raisins are pure sugar, and sticky. They will contribute to tooth decay. Not good for grazing. Eat, finish, and brush teeth.
Rachel, I pulled into work laughing at your CD story 😂 good start for the work day. I listened to it again later when I could watch the video and it was even funnier seeing y’all laughing.

Same. I much prefer the term content creator.
Hey! Boomer here! Yeah we’re listening!! Love it!! ❤
I am a boomer, AND I love your show!!!!
I love this episode and so glad you got it on video!
Ok George! I'm a boomer and really enjoy the show.
I had to make a rule, No shopping from influencer or Instagram/Facebook ads. I also will not follow someone who has their children in their posts.
The camera guy at 28:34
The ultimate love song collection has me in tearrrrs 😂
I was telling my 14 year old about AIM and he said, "so it's like discord?"....and now I feel old 😆
😂 so glad to have the video on the podcast now.
