Truly a pleasure and an honor to be on your podcast! This chat with you was a long time coming. Maybe one of our nexts will be In real life? ;) Looking forward to many more chats as well as having you on my own podcast one day, Steve!
Imagine how many bonus topics would be discussed if KAI GREENE & MATT OGUS were on the same podcast. They both could convince me that HALF NATTY actually meant being both enhanced and lifetime natty at the same time.
Been saving this to sit down and listen carefully. Ogus is such a legend and influential dude who is just chillin with his million kiddos and beautiful wife
I think this is my favorite podcast episode, ever! Matt's energy and overall vibe was simply out of this world, specially considering he is in prep. Also, never resonated so much with anyone, from the training aspect, to the business side, everything. I'm so glad you pulled this trigger, Matt! And a big thanks to Steve, for continuing this amazing podcast!
Thank you guys. You are such a huge inspiration for me ! *For the record - i'm 35 y/o - lifting weights even before the dawn of yt, and Matt's was one of my first RUclips channels that i discover when i started my journey.
Awesome chat!! You guys clicked so well with the history you both share either directly or simply by being in the natural bodybuilding space over the last decade. OGs!
This reminds me of when Brian Whitaker was on the iron cult podcast and said how his kids and his family and his career come first before bodybuilding any day and that man was one of the best in the world
Great episode Steve, pretty surreal that Matt was your inspiration for getting into Natural bodybuilding and he mentions you are his “favourite bodybuilder educator” you deserve all the praise with the hard work you have put in. Best podcast there is.
Loooooved this podcast. I’m so happy with how long it was lol. I’d love for Matt to come back on and talk about whatever the hell he wants to talk about. I honestly think even parenting stuff would be cool. I’d also love to hear him talk about how his training has changed over the years. Much like Steve I know he implemented some RP principles and I wonder if he is still using that methodology
Hey Steve I asked this on your previous videos comment section also… Would you expect much of a decrease in TDEE after a 6 week mini cut, starting at about 1000 cal deficit from the maintenance estimate at the end of your mass? Not sure what you have experienced with yourself or clients.
@@ReviveStronger what’s annoying is this new watch cost me like 1000$ and my Fitbit was 200$ and way more accurate. Because I track my calories through the carbon app and I eat the same food everyday, the same calories everyday, which is 3600 calories a day and my Fitbit would estimate my calorie burn very close to that and that was maintenance calories and I weigh myself everyday and I was maintaining. My new expensive watch says I barely burn 2800 on a good day yet I’m eating 3600 calories a day. So I believe the steps are way off as well as the calorie counter. Not saying they are gonna be perfect but you should at least be in the ballpark for that kind of money 💰 🤷♂️🤦🏼♂️
This was really good man, one of my favourite episodes of your podcast, ever! Heard of Matt Ogus but never really checked his stuff out or listened to him talk. I love someone with a personality like this, talking openly about sex etc. without being inappropriate, because for alot of people it is super relevant, and alot of fitness influencers are kind of ”stiff” when it comes to sharing info like that in an honest and serious way. Someone who talks about personal betrayals. And also just a person who loves training, and that’s it. More people like this and less of the same self-deprecating humour that most are now copying - and I think youtube fitness and podcasts would be an even better and more genuine space. An extremely good episode and if he comes back for round two, I’m already looking forward to it. Cheers
Matt’s body composition has stayed essentially the same since 2010. Just slowly progressing year after year, if he was on the gear this whole time he would looking more towards guys that are actually on gear like cbum. He’s also doesn’t always look like this, just when he diets down. If he was 18 I would definitely say he was on early stages of gear but after 15+ years of consistent training and strict dieting it’s definitely achievable
Never turned off one of your podcasts until now 😢 your guest started contridicting himself and obviously thinks he has all the answers. Have some modesty and integrity.
If you are lying to your friend about taking roids, which everybody knows you do/did, then I cant blame your friend that he didnt want to talk to you. I wouldnt want to hangout with a dude that is lying to me.
But his body composition hasn’t changed much since 2011. It’s been slowing progressing year after year, if he was on the gear he would be as huge as cbum by this point with his level of consistency. He’s also does not look like that all year around, only when he diets down for a show unlike someone on gear who looks show ready all year round
@@joesinclair9731 I come from the Misc so that was the on going story. Miss the G4P Matt. You just mildly if at all increase the dose. That's it. This guy is obviously anything but natural. No natural can achieve such dry skin like that on the thumbnail. 3D delts are also a giveaway.
Hmmmm... He looks great, but he's actually not that big. I would say that a well trained shorter guy with great genetics, while peeled to the bone can look like that naturally. Just look at him here, in this shirt. Does he look that muscular to you? I'm not saying with certainty that he's natural, but I believe that it is theoretically possible. Also, he hasn't gotten substantially bigger over the last few years.

Man, matt’s an OG. I’m 27 now but remember watching him as a teenager first getting into training
Same! I started at 16 and I’m 28 now. Watched Matt back in those days too.
39 now. Remember watching Matt in my mid 20s. Love that we are still grinding and doing well❤
How much Matt has grown as a human being these last 10 years is incredible and inspiring. Well done sir 👌👏👏👏

I had the same issue with my Fitbit versa 4. It would give me 18-20k steps a day. Then I bought a nice garmin Fenix 7pro and I’m lucky to hit 12k 🤷♂️
