"more, harder, and more specific" Very interesting. Sounds a lot like my 2021 bulk. First time doing a high volume of arm-specific training, actually just a lot of volume of almost everything. And still close to failure. It's tough but lower volume just never really seemed to move the measurements. Ate a lot but didn't really put on a ton of fat. Bodyweight jumping up more than it "should". Adding weight to everything every session. Also developed elbow issues as well actually. Seems to be often the limiting factor.
Oh hey Geoff! 👋 I love your work btw. I mean to ask, would such an approach benefit a late novice, early intermediate such as myself? I've been training for 2 years, 19yo guy, trying to get my arms to 16"
It’s always a thrill to discover new growth spurts. My own experience also tells me that the ‘after newbie gains you’re mostly done’ idea to be mostly wrong. Unless a new lifter accidentally by chance stumbled across what provides them optimal hypertrophy from the start, most will continue to grow in the years to come provided they are willing to leave their comfort zone and experiment from time to time.
It's a Nick's Strength and Power meme. Very harsh lighting from above to accentuate muscle details. Also in old movies when a bad guy (goon) approached in a dark alley.
Actually it isn't. Clearly a dose response, but highly debatable where the plateau and decline is because the studies are not accounting for muscle swelling. Waiting on a 96 hour delay before measurement in a study.
Lol refer to Renaissance Perodization's new video, please. Two sports scientists once again discuss how more volumes equal more gains. Not to mention the bunch of other sport scientists whose job it is to study hypertrophy say it is. But some randos on the good ol RUclips say no. Gets me every time. 🤣 ruclips.net/video/QNG5J7rgLmg/видео.htmlsi=rAB92rxXXdqadAx5
@@kapoioBCS your comment history speaks otherwise, you're consistently dropping snarky comments everywhere, then you run when you're called on it. Get a spine my guy.
@@GVS First of all little weird that you look my comment history but ok, second I don’t post ‘’snarky’’ comments I put criticisms on opinions that I believe are false or misleading (maybe even lies). But yes, I would gladly point out if I believe that someone is disingenuous with their arguments or PED use etc. Most comment sections are eco chambers of what the OP creator believes or expresses on the said video/thread etc. Most of the times there is no point in engaging in long conversations with the same argumentations as the original video/thread. If you believe that ‘’not being convinced by the believes and arguments’’ of the poster is somehow stupid or immoral or ‘’being snarky and overly negative, pessimistic or nihilistic’’ that ok, but don’t expect everyone to have the same beliefs and experiences as you. People cheat and lie (and downplay) very easily and very frequently. On the topic of PEDs, still I believe that most people on the ‘natural’ side of RUclips fitness are probably not on PEDs, but this doesn’t change the fact that I am very skeptic on some of those claims, because of various specific circumstances. Anyway, this conversation is silly, it is not such important thing.

@@LUKA_911 probably would start with a more moderate approach and get all the gains you can from that.
@@GVS so like the traditional 10-20 sets per week at RPE9-10
@@LUKA_911 something like that, but probably on the lower end.

This is a great video. I’m a novice and I went from 6-9 sets a week to 1-2 sets a week and I’m making more progress lol

I thought unicorn gains mean that you dont know if they really exist :D

Volume = gains, if everything else is in check. The research is very clear now.
