I wasn't able to listen yesterday due to an unfortunate Netflix binge I had to take care of lol. I'm happy to be here now though! Thank you so much for a fantastic episode (how can it not be?!) With the legendary Dr. Mike!!!
Steve, we're due for another Broderick interview! If you could get the stars to align, Broderick, Mike, and Menno, or Helms, would be a great roundtable to behold! Thanks for what you do, Steve.
SQUAAAAD 🔥 Did’t receive a newsletter this week, so who is being interviewed this week is a surprise to me, too. Anyhow: I’m sure. It’ll be awesome! Thanks fellas 🙏 Edit: nice! The long awaited Q&A with Mike! 🎉
grannick yim increase side delt volume slowly. Eventually you wont be able to match the volume anymore, reps will decrease, you’ll struggle more. Now you know you’ve gone over your MRV. Then deload and restart your next mesocycle about 8 sets less than the MRV that you found and work up to it again then deload and repeat. But be careful since some front delt movements (like overhead press can hit side delts a bit as well, so as you increase volume on that, side delts get hit more).
Although I loved the circadian rhythm talk, please read: If you are very overweight/obese the best moment to lose fat is now. Advice from an ex-obese person.
Tried 3x per week quads once...never again. Something about the quad tendon that just can’t recover very well for anymore than 2 leg sessions for me at least because probably the weight is so strenuous your body just can’t lift that regularly. I can however bench 4x a week and be completely fine. High frequency works and is cool but don’t forget what works best for your body..if you get bigger and stronger doing a muscle twice per week don’t change shit till it stops working..
Just one thing at about 46min. There is winter in south america. We get 0°C every year. It might not be snowing all the time, but we have it. Also, sadly the fun part of summer is just after the holidays, so we are usually bloated
When he talks about volume not being sustainable for 3 sessions per bb per week, he mentions 10 to 12 sessions per session, is that per body part which would equal 30 to36 sets per body part per week?
Could the deload week function as a diet break durin a fat loss phase? Also, on that week is better to keep the deficit you have but drop the cardio(if you're doing any) or just eat at maintenance?
Steve, one more thing. It'd be most excellent if you could get Alex Viada on to discuss his hybrid methodology, and you could then have a more comprehensive viewpoint on training for multiple performance/physique goals, and it'd be a lovely 'can of worms' to open up. Love the channel's content. Cheers!
It's surprising just how much cycling wrecks your legs. When I was doing it, every time I got off the bike, I had to hold onto something to keep from falling down. And I wasn't even pedaling very hard. It also gave me hip pain, so I stopped.
You need to do the refeed roubdtable!! I would love to hear everyones outlook on them and I think that it would be a really useful and helpful podcast for all!
@@ReviveStronger EliteFTS just made a video about it. JM Blakely started using a new routine where he does tricep extensions. A set of 3, a set of 2, a set of 1. Every rep is as slow as possible, 2 minutes per rep or so. Maximum MMC and fatigue every single muscle fiber.
If I had to guess it would assume it’s a combination of local glycogen depletion and muscle damage. Although the muscle will then generally swell as a type of inflammatory response due to the muscle damage. This usually will occur sooner that 7 days though. By week do you mean 7 days? Also do you only train legs once a week?

Dr. Mike and Steve always make a winning combination for a top notch educational interview!
Thanks for tuning in!

Always great discussions with Mike, favorite episodes!
Thanks for listening Brodie ;)

He doesn't want to come on anymore, which we do respect

Mike's volume template is second to none. I'm a believer and a practitioner or his MEV-MRV volume benchmarks (in principle).
You can even apply it to so many other fields as well

Pure Gold, thanks!!!
Thanks Tessa!

Thanks for the great content Steve, Mike.

Damn, 50 pound laterals with a pause at the top for 12 reps! That's insane strength!
Yeah, it's actually scary!

Revive Stronger who’s pascal? I thought the guys name is steve

I never get real Doms in My Side delts. How can i Know that i should do more or Less Volume in this Case?
Slowly increase volume until you hit your MRV.
It's actually pretty hard to get doms there.

I would like an interview on post-cycle compounds like Clomid, Nolvadex etc.
I think, Broderick is the man to talk about this!

Mass from Labor day to Valentine's. Maintain until St Patrick's. Cut until memorial day. Maintain and enjoy summer.
Sounds like a plan!

Not sure if I'm the only one. But does anyone else legs get smaller after a tough leg day and get back up to normal later in the week?

My assumption as well. Counterintuitive and usually not what I'd expect but perhaps. How do you determine the size changes though?
