    Again, I absolutely love how you really break down the science behind what you're doing thus making it truly educational. Even when I watch videos that don't pertain to things I do with my hair I still end up learning something that can be useful to me. That's what makes your videos worth watching vs. other channels on RUclips. You still remain as the only RUclipsr that I watch consistently and the only one I bother with regarding hair. Even in your videos where you say there are tons of tutorials out there like it- not really. The decisions you make are informed and you are open and honest enough to let us know when something has went wrong the moment you realize it yourself. Through explaining what you are doing and why the viewers can then take that information, analyze it, and decide how to apply it to themselves. And bonus points for being a fellow inline skater as well! I truly appreciate you always being genuine and even if you feel like a video is in vain we'll still love it. You have your own unique take and I learn something every time. I'm pretty sure many of us just like hearing you speak in general anyway regardless of what it's about! lol
    Be blessed (:

    Can be natural for years and still learn GREAT tips; thank you. Question, how would you go about moisturizing & sealing a few days later?

    • @AfrikanHairGod
      @AfrikanHairGod  6 лет назад +5

      Shonia the same way that we moisturize it here. I stick with just water and oil for the most part. You can use other options like moisturizer creams or leave in sprays, which ever is most appropriate for your hair and how much moisture it needs.

  • @iateyursandwiches
    @iateyursandwiches 6 лет назад

    Omg, your hair is so shiny! I'm thinking of trying a water( with aloe vero juice) and oil only moisturizing regiment(oils being olive /argan) since I have low porosity hair and products can build up easily, but I'm not sure if it will be good enough for moisture retention with my hair in long term.

    Hello very informative video, can I ask where did you buy your tail comb as I’ve never seen one with that size teeth.

    • @AfrikanHairGod
      @AfrikanHairGod  6 лет назад

      baybischam I purchased mine from Sally beauty supply. It has the perfect spacing for my hair for parting and combing thru small sections of my hair for twists and such.

      AfrikanHairGod thanks for your quick response. You are right the spacing of the teeth are better for sure. Will check online if I can get it as I live in the UK, and I've only seen the fine tooth ones.

      it's a natural hair page I came across on ig! It was basically saying to stop using coconut oil shea butter, eco styler and jbco :// It caught my eye because I hate shea butter and coconut oil as it is.

    Can I ask what kind of shampoo you use? I think my shampoos may be making my hair tacky. So I can't run my hands through it without strands stretching and snapping.

    • @aaliaj6719
      @aaliaj6719 6 лет назад

      *run my hands/fingers through while wet

    • @AfrikanHairGod
      @AfrikanHairGod  6 лет назад +2

      Aalia Abdullah most shampoos don't really allow you to smooth or run your fingers thru your hands. The hair tends to become tacky when shampoo is applied. The proper time to try to smooth and detangle your hair is with conditioner.

    • @aaliaj6719
      @aaliaj6719 6 лет назад

      Thanks for the reply! It's just most conditioners irritate my scalp so I stopped using them and instead use stylers and leave-ins. Hmm I'll have to invest in a good conditioner! ☺

    I have no idea why, but within the last year or so whenever I apply straight oil to my hair it begins to STINK. I wash it often, but putting oils straight on my hair= stinky hair--even after wash day! It's so strange... 😞Any ideas why? I love your videos 😊

    • @AfrikanHairGod
      @AfrikanHairGod  6 лет назад

      Aly Ariel any oils in particular? I've never had that issue except when I encounter someone that uses coconut oil... That 💩 smells horrible like rancid coconut flavored vinegarette

    • @alyariel9713
      @alyariel9713 6 лет назад

      AfrikanHairGod Castor oil does that & olive oil. Coconut oil can too! It's so strange! Ive been natural for six years, and it wasn't always like this. But adding oils very quickly creates that rancid smell. I hate that, because my hair feels best when I condition it with oils. Maybe it's the same phenomenon of people who have oily hair. Germs, dust and particles can attach to the oil and cause a smell, which is why individuals with oily hair wash it often? But... we need oils for OUR hair... so AHHHH!! It's frustrating. Thank you for your thoughts

    • @gridhop
      @gridhop 6 лет назад

      Aly Ariel Is it your hair or your scalp? Because if it's the scalp maybe it's becoming too clogged with the oil over time and needs time to air out or needs to be thoroughly cleansed. Might even be that too much oil is coming in contact with your scalp even if you're focusing on the strands. If so, I'm not sure how you shampoo but it might be worth it to section your hair and in the mirror before you get in the shower make sure the scalp and hair near it has made contact with the shampoo. Because you can visually see it you will know there is soap and suds there. Then proceed as usual whether that be in the shower, kitchen sink, or wherever. I know for me as my hair has gotten longer it's been a challenge to make sure the shampoo is reaching all areas of my scalp because of how much hair it has to get through.
      Best of luck in your journey to solve this!

    • @gridhop
      @gridhop 6 лет назад

      Aly Ariel Also, if there's too much product in the scalp area and you wet it, it's bound to cause a smell

    • @alyariel9713
      @alyariel9713 6 лет назад

      ItssMICHA I never put oils on my scalp, only on the hair shaft. When I put straight oil in the length of my hair... very shortly after a weird smell begins emitting--AND I WASH MY HAIR 2-3 TIMES A WEEK D: AHHHH XD It's only oil that does this and it baffles me. :/ Thank you for your thoughts though
