Curlfriend, what's your favourite way to STRETCH your fine natural hair? Sound off in the comments 👇🏾

3 single braids on each side of my head. Pin them as they dry and I get the MOST fantastic stretch. I only do this with a watery leave-in and no oils or butters till after it is dry!

Wow!!! This sounds like an awesome method and it avoids forcing the hair into a cornrow when it's in a super shrunken state. I may have to give your method a try. Do you have tightly curly/coily hair as well?

So nice to find someone with similar hair type! I’ve just watched a few of your videos and I finally saw that your hair is low porosity. Although I can follow a lot of your tips like low manipulation, stretching out wash days (I’m currently at monthly), and definitely not adding in hair extensions, having fine, 4c, medium dense, high porosity hair genetically makes it even more of a challenge to retain length. But I did it once and I’m determined to do it again. I’ve been natural for 9 years but had a major setback after having my daughter 3 years ago from literally just not having the time to care for my hair the way I used to. Now I’m pregnant with my second son so it’s going to be a challenge again, but I think I’ve created solid habits I can maintain. The biggest thing for me is protective styling but just with head scarfs. I just can’t bring myself to wear wigs, hair pieces, etc. I’m not comfortable with it, never have been. Also, us high porosity girls must use heavy oils and butters to keep any kind of moisture. Now one thing I’ve just gotten into is incorporating Ayurvedic herbs into my regimen. I’ve been using fenugreek EVERYTHING the last month (masks, teas, oils and butters) that I make myself using Curly Proverbz recipes and so far, I’m loving it! I just started using a Henna/Aloe tea and I’m excited about trying the mask on my next wash day. Anyway, sorry for the long comment. Thanks for representing us fine hair girls with coarse hair. I literally think you’re the only one! God bless you,

      Hey Beautiful!!!
First things first, thank you so much for joining us on this week's livestream! It was an absolute pleasure to connect and share tips and tricks with you and the rest of our beloved Curlfriend Crew! Also CONGRATULATIONS on baby #2!!! 🎊🎉 You must be so excited for your little bundle of joy to arrive!!! 😍🙌🏾
As for your gorgeous natural hair, Your fine, 4c, medium density, high porosity hair sounds absolutely beautiful! Protective styling cannot be overstated for fine natural hair!! It simply is the very best thing that we can do to retain our length. I actually really love wearing wigs and hair pieces but I can understand why some naturals really don't like it. I, myself, can't stand wigs and hairpieces every now and then because the feeling of something foreign on the scalp can be annoying at times, lol!!!! As for your fenugreek regimen, it sounds amaaaaazing! I'm going to check out Curly Proverbz when I get some free time today to relax and unwind.
Thanks for joining our Fine Natural Hair ROCKS community! I deeply appreciate you, Curlfriend!!! 🤗💛

Thank you so much!! It’ll actually be baby number 3! Two boys and one girl. My oldest is 23 with my 10 month old granddaughter. So it’ll just be the younger 2 keeping mama busy. I’ll be protective styling with scarfs for the foreseeable future! :-) Thanks for the reply and I’ll definitely be watching more of your content! Be blessed!

Thanks for checking out this video Beautiful!!! I totally understand not wanting to use a ton of heat due to the fear of damage. Other than my Revair, I typically do not use any heat either. My only exception to this rule is when I go to my hairstylist for a trim. At that point, she will use a flat iron to get a good full look at my ends.

Hey curlfriend🙋‍♀️. I often stretch my hair with heat and braid or twist outs. As a fine- haired natural, it's safe to say I use heat maybe once a month and heatless stretching techniques for the rest of the month.

@@FineNaturalHairROCKS I like the comb or brush hair dryers! Do not care for the Revair, dries out my hair like crazy! And there's very limited products you can use with it long term because any products with oil supposedly can destroy the inner tube of the dryer 🙄😒

After washing and deep conditioning, I grease my scalp, add leave in and put my hair in a low bun overnight and halfway through the next day. That stretches my hair enough to style. I do not use heat.

Okay. I don’t understand. How can you have type four hair that is fine? I thought type four meant thick hair. 🤔????? My hair is fine and I guess 3A (10%) and the other 90% is 3B.

Her hair strands are fine aka an individual strand is very thin and hardly visible alone. Her hair density is thick aka when you part your hair but don't see scalp (normal texture, not stretched).
