    Problem I currently have is that I joined the hype when the game came out. Got a lvl 69 ranger, but always wanted to go Blade. I would like to go play, but it's quite the grindy game to get anywhere, especially now that most money spenders are gone so the premium items are quite expensive. I play on EU servers and also have a RM assist.
    Any tips if I start over as a blade? Would love to find a group which I can join to speed stuff up a bit.

    • @emenalus
      @emenalus  Год назад +1

      I'd honestly recommend that if you want to start over as a Blade, make use of your Ranger to afford some of the basic stuff to make playing with him pleasant as soon as possible. Affording a Comet Suit clean off for example can be a little rough (about 10m here in Totemia), but at 60-70s that isn't too much effort to obtain :)
      If you happen to play in Totemia, we do have a community guild with a bunch of my other viewers and friends and we're usually running stuff when I'm streaming and also whenever somebody gets the idea of gathering up for a dungeon, a hunt or something. Everyone is welcome, we don't have any requirements for applying ^^
      Also on the topic of premiums, it's not as much about spenders being gone but the fact that so much more Penya is generated at higher levels. There's still a pretty active market for buying and selling fCoins, but the price point has definitely gone up. Doesn't stop you from buying some if you do get your hands on the appropriate price ratio though! It'll be a slow start, but you'll get there eventually. Flyff is a grindy game, but it's a pretty chill experience when having someone to chat with or watching something from another monitor. As long as you don't take it TOO seriously and have a community around you, it's a pretty fun experience :D

    When I was hunting Giant Popcranks in hopes of looting Legendary Golden Stick, I didn't loot one Legendary Golden bow, not two, but three consequtively. Aside couple of suits that dropped which got sold for decent price aside bows as I was dropping inflation of bows quite significantly with ironic supply and demand.
    If Giant hunting isn't your thing, one could always try their hand at crafting in Flaris. However chances of getting weapon you desire is very low, and only profitable choice of weapons are bloody weapons which weapons you unlock in high desert area / Azria.

    • @emenalus
      @emenalus  Год назад

      It's a sport of luck, but giant hunting definitely pays off if you're patient! A nice stroke of luck there, bet you managed to buy the stick with all the money you got :D
      I agree with the fact that weapon crafting isn't recommended unless it's bloody. It's a super expensive process and only the value of bloody weapons is even remotely comparable x)

      @@emenalus I eventually didn't buy legendary golden stick for rm, as I observed H stick and navil set being quite okay set without breaking bank.
      There was a time I obtained bloody stick from crafting, but I ended up just selling it away to further improve Vizith set and hoarding 7% lightning cards. (Definitely pray second stick pops by as I level casually hehe)

    What's the best class and build for giant hunting?

    • @emenalus
      @emenalus  4 месяца назад +2

      I won't be as presumptious as to claim what class is the *very* best, depending on context and the player, there are many valid options.
      The general rule of thumb for a reliable giant hunter is that they're not too vulnerable to death, even during the enrage phase. For most glass cannon builds and classes such as blades this is a risk especially later towards the game, so despite their high damage, their lack of fortitude makes them a bad pick to go with (unless you sacrifice damage for some HP through equipment/pets).
      Some of the most common options people seem to go with are 1v1 Knights, BPs and RMs which are built to be at least partially tanky but still hold a respectable killing speed. These are all classes that scale well with STA and don't need that much of it to gain a respectable amount of durability, with Knights scaling the best and RMs the worst. Especially 1v1 Knights can strike a good balance between defense and offense, given their booster buffs which makes their damage fairly equivalent to wearing an actual 2-handed weapon while maintaining their defensive capabilities. On the other hand, BPs and RMs come with that occasional stun that can be a saving grace even with giants being immune to stuns most of the time. As I said, it's a matter of preference at the end of the day :)
      Even though I use my Ranger as an example in this video, I would highly advise against using a Ranger for giant hunting. Despite being full DEX, giants mostly ignore block rate and deal full damage, so in a real combat situation my Ranger's pretty often on the edge. If you're willing to go out of your way to dedicate a character for giant hunting, I'd recommend going for one of those three x)

    In my opinion Giant hunting is overrated, most of the time you will get rekt if you didnt have lvl 20 quick step, and mostly shitty loot, by farming normal monsters I often have way more penya than hunting giants.

    • @emenalus
      @emenalus  Год назад +1

      Some of the giants are definitely ass to deal with without the extra speed, I realize that handicap and I'm actually going a bit deeper on giant hunting with Noben on my Road to 60 series continuation in the next episode, without quick step x)
      Giant hunting overall is admittedly a much more luck-based activity rather than consistent, and there are times when it works out and when it doesn't. When done effectively though, it's actually comparable to just hunting monsters regularly as they tend to drop a lot of trash items anyway on top of having the occasional bursts of luck with weapon drops ;) If you're lucky to drop one of the valuable ones, you certainly don't regret giving it a try.

    I'm surprised Flyff is still going. I thought the game was dead at this point.

    • @emenalus
      @emenalus  Год назад +1

      Oh I understand, I think a lot of people went with the nostalgia effect and would drop it soon after trying it out again, but the game's definitely still got a vibrant and active community. There even was a new content update all the way to level 160 just a couple weeks back, so end-game players got more stuff to grind once again ^^
      Definitely the best condition Flyff has ever been so far imo :)

    Giants is the reason I quit the game. Getting 1 shot because you're not quick enough is no fun 😂

    • @emenalus
      @emenalus  11 месяцев назад +1

      I mean yeah, they're more difficult to do now, but I personally like it because it encourages playing as a group more. I don't think giants were intended to be purely solo content anyway x) And in a way if you're quick enough, it actually makes giants EASIER, since there's less opportunities for them to land basic attacks on you. So in a way they're both a blessing and a curse, depending on how you perform against them. I think the most annoying part is that the ability areas might clip underground if you're on an uneven surface :/
      But either way, sad you didn't like them, hope you found yourself a better game or server to play in ;D

    • @emenalus
      @emenalus  3 месяца назад

      There are crazy people who actually do, and later down the road deal with even crazier drop rates. It's really just a matter of preference and habit, most Flyff veterans know that the game is VERY grindy and accept it for what it is, but I certainly understand it isn't everyone's cup of tea :) We've advanced leaps in terms of game design, but for some the grind makes the journey ^^
