Nice work - but that slop is usually the rubber coupler at the transmission, not so much the play in the shifter mechanism. One existing option is to use a Fister Golden rod and short shift kit, and you do need a bit of play or the transmission can balk under some conditions . Does your product replaces the shift linkage from the transmission shift rod connection to the cabin shifter, and you remove the tube in the transmission tunnel? C2 only then? Be interesting to see the final product!
Thank you, and yes the shift coupler does have some play/flex due to the rubber used. But that isn't the leading cause of the slop, the bushings used in the shifter is. That is the problem we see with the Fister Short Shift kit is they still use ALL of the same mounting and joints as the stock shifter. The contacts are all bushings. We brought an entirely different approach that has been so successful with the water-cooled market already. Our shifter is very direct and gives you that amazing precision feeling. And yes, it is only for two wheel drive currently. The shifter does not need to have a bit of play, the transmission already has the tolerances needed for it to not balk under driving or racing conditions.
