Singer is so cool. Everything they do is customized to your specific liking, from the paint down to the stitching. While they are incredibly expensive, they are absolutely beautiful!
I think I'd take it over all of the other cars on Doug's list. I can't imagine those cars being as much fun to drive, and that's the most important thing to me.
LOL the inside shot of the casino with the guy in a panda outfit running up the steps, arms waving in the air to greet the couple. LOL out of all the possible interior video clips of a casino that one was selected to be used.
Hole in shift knob matches headrests. There’s so many details. Still remember the day my dad told me he bought his 1984 911 Targa. I’m not keen on the years, but this one reminds me of his.
Absolutely gorgeous and breathtaking in every way possible! Huge thanks to the owner of this car for allowing to be seen, driven and reviewed objectively.
Beautiful car, thumbs up to the owner letting this one be shown. Note Singer is California based & most are built in California USA & the European clients have their cars built in the recently expanded UK facility.
Singer’s gotta be pleased with his review. The driving reactions tell it all. He’s experiencing driving bliss such as most of us will never know. Lovely car. Thank you Singer.
This specific car was featured in the top gear portfolio in like, 2017, and I fell in love with it. So glad you finally got to look at it. It’s a work of art
I remember seeing this in Top Gear's channel and it blew me away. The 930/964 models were always my favorite 911s, they are just so damn gorgeous, but this... THIS is insane! And that gauge cluster... Just wow!
Love. Love. Love this bespoke mechanical design artistic masterpiece. The custom glasswork, lights, carbon panelling and perfected dimensions, materials, and finishing on everything are just sick. #Respect
So cool to see two of my favorite car people coming together: Doug and Rob Dickinson. The latter of which being the _singer_ for my favorite band of all time: Catherine Wheel
So are there rear seats? 13:45 No one would make a soft lining where there is nothing. Most likely, this was done for such cases when you, on your Porsche, were in the center of a complete fuck-up: military operations, the apocalypse, an attack by aliens, Russia. And just for such cases, you can take 2 more people with you. I like this film.
10:36 I believe they do that for weight savings. Although that may seem minimal, every ounce counts and Singer's utilize holes throughout the interiors of their cars to save as much weight as possible!
I'm so happy for Rob Dickinson, who created Singer and is also their CEO. He used to be the singer/song-writer of a band called Catherine Wheel (hence the name Singer) and I was a huge fan of their music. He turned his incredible musical talent into making incredible Porsches.
How in the world have you never heard of Singer? They're like the Alpina or RUF of the US (Doug was completely incorrect here, they're founded, based, and Singer Porsches are built in California, have no idea where he got "UK" from 😅)
11:13 the knob I’m not so sure about is the blank one. There are four knobs and one of them has no pictogram. Does this $2 million car have an option not selected and a blank control knob left in?
Sorry for the dumb question, but I am not a mechanic: What happens if it rains, with those air intakes? Won't that feed water to the engine? I am sure it will not but I wonder how this was solved.
My favorite part of this whole review is Doug cracking on the silly center fuel filler! He’s totally right of course, it’s an answer to a question no one asked, just a hey that’s cool add-on, but Doug can point out the quirks in the funniest way! Love me some Doug reviews!
There’s something incredibly feely sensual going on with that shifter knob finger hole. I suspect this linkage satisfyingly notches into gear like none other.
I love what Singer does. Just so much attention to detail and making something already great even better. Didn't realize there were so many Singer specific wear items though... kind of annoying but I bet zero owners actually drive these anyways.
You'd be wrong about that last. Not all Singers are garage queens. The guy who went to Singer to request what eventually became the DLS program bought _two_ of them, but he didn't ask them to make such an incredibly performance optimized version of the car (and pay through the nose for the privilege!) to not drive them 😉
I give Singer so much credit, I wish there were more companies that did things as much up to par as them because we could use some classic American muscle cars that are modified to THIS standard
Why is that? Can you afford 2 million on a car? All they're doing is catering to the .001% in this world and there's plenty of those that can lay down 2 million without even thinking about it.
There is a company that I can't remember the name of that builds classic Mustangs with modern powertrains and suspension. They're not quite Singer-level but they're still good. ICON has a similar ethos of leaving nothing untouched.
Well...there's RUF and Saleen, but they aren't quite on this level. Who would have thought a sewing machine company could turn a car into such a piece of art?
Doug the type of guy to put a towel on the ground for his knee, but then lean directly on a Singer DLS. All kidding aside, thanks for the review, as always! :)
Not even close, that thing is the ultimate wrist watch, beautiful and utterly pointless, listen to people who actually drive 911s talk about a Singer, if you’d like I can link a couple of podcasts comparing a Singer to a RUF or just a base Porsche 964
Would've chosen 1 or 2 different interior points, but the outside is just magnificent. I think Practicality should be a definite 2 points, there is at least quite a bit of room for stash, especially if you count in the space behind the seats. 😄
I saw it in Top Gear several years ago. I love it, but since then I have heard very little about the brand again. there are some videos on youtube but none with the level of detail that doug can achieve. Thanks doug
I laughed when you called out "watch people" as the target demographic for this, because that's what I was thinking as I saw the details and fit & finish.
He's reviewed every trim level of 911 from the past 25 years so he has to broaden his Porsche coverage. Doug denies it but he's absolutely a Porsche guy.
@@KartKing4ever "No they don't." No they don't what? Spend a lot more than this for oil and canvas? I guess you've never heard of this guy named "Van Gogh".

The Porsches reimagined by Singer are IMO the perfect "modern" sportscar. They do such an incredible job with these vehicles and the results are absolutely amazing.
I still think the original Singer form is the most beautiful one. All of the special editions are cool but they are too exotic. While still not cheap, the OG is where it's at IMO.
That's a dream car in the real world ! I would be happy just seeing one around, but I don't expect many of them in Europe. Another brilliant video, thanks !
Great video! I really do have a question. For someone with less than $10,000 to invest, how would you recommend we enter the crypto market? I am looking at studying some traders and copying their strategy rather than investing myself and losing money emotionally. What's your take on this approach?
I and my brother have been trading with Ms Letton Deb. For over a year and I've made good profit of $86000 that's not much but I'm happy with the progress, I don't have to look for jobs anymore
Yep. It takes a weird place in the car collector market. It's a restomod customized for the buyer at an extremely high price point. I feel like the person who buys this definitely wants to drive it. I find it questionable when people think this car will appreciate in value as it's not really a classic. They could make limited versions but I just don't see that being a wise decision as the price point is already limiting.
Here I am fussing over putting a 911 gauge cluster in my Boxster. Love the idea of ditching all the carpets and do-dads, swapping the steering wheel and shifter for more racy ones. Manual everything. I'm a fan.
Terrible value. You'd have to REALLY want to drive a classic Porsche restomodded to perfection to pay that much. I don't see this being a collectors item like people think. I don't see how this thing can appreciate all that much as it is basically a gutted classic.
Cool Factor 9 is a joke. I think this is THE car I would be most excited to see on the road. An Easy 10, but I guess its the Doug Score, not the Steve Score...
I saw a Singer DLS at Sonoma Raceway today. Absolutely stunning car. I couldn't believe it was just parked in the VIP lot. Spent about twenty minute photographing it. Don't imagine I'll ever see another one. It made the Ferrari's and Audi A8's in the parking look plain in comparison!

great comment, it looks like a car for drivers, not to be collected and stored away but driven pedal to the metal, cant believe you have experience with this model, thats awesome.
Thanks for the story I’m fully erect
My favorite model of Porsche the 964 ! And to know that Singer has now modified one its now became one of the ultimate 911s ever built !
Love how Doug sends it over the railroad tracks like a Geo Metro instead of a $2 Million dollar Singer!
I think it uses a rally spec suspension, tuned for road.
LoL, Time stamp please?
I had a geo metro and my dad split the frame in half going over rail road tracks😭😭😭😂😂
@ayowser01 It does not. It uses track oriented dampers built by EXE-TC, which is a company that builds rally dampers, but not for the Singer DLS.
Tbh, it's just an overpriced Volkswagen.
Oh man, that widebody is so stunningly beautiful. That is art. Moving and roaring art but art nonetheless. This is one of the most beautiful cars I have ever seen. Every crease, corner, component and curve is just right. And then that engine bay... Wow, just wow
And all it took was to slaughter a stock 911 and destroy a piece of history.
The Porsche Singer DLS is absolutely a banger car indeed. Reminded me a lot to Porsche 930 Old Version.
As a German it's great to see Non-German Companies that focus on modifying German Cars do such a great Job. I wasn't aware of Singer until a Year or so ago.
In Germany we of course got the legendary "Ruf" Family and their Porsche Modifications and of course several more and for different German Car Brands.
So it's fantastic to see a Company that isn't from Germany care so much and does such an amazing Job for a German Car!
Prost & Cheers from Berchtesgaden in the Bavarian Alps
Hopefully you know that Doug was incorrect about his "Singers are made in the UK" though.....Singer is a US company, built in the US, California.
@@johnnygeorgopoulos4072
Yeah i was wondering about that, i knew it's a US Company in California but i believe started by a British Musician who lives in the USA and "Singer" as Name is a Reference to the famous German Porsche Engineer "Norbert Singer"
Maybe Doug thought of the British Car Brand "Singer" that doesn't exist anymore or just mixed them up
@@johnnygeorgopoulos4072 Singer is indeed a US company, however the DLS models specifically are being built in the UK.
The music control dial, is GENIUS!!! That’s all we need, no screens, no stupid buttons. That’s probably my favorite part, if this awesome car
It’s just a very basic off the shelf Bluetooth interface commonly used in boats and other text vehicles.
I'm in love ... the flicking screws on this thing are beautiful. The more you look at it the better it becomes. Wow ! Only some high end Rolls-Royce and Paganis give this effect.
Damn..this can literally take a man's breath away. The looks, both modern and classic, are pure magnificence. The price tag is eye-watering. If there ever was a dream car, this would be it!
Aside for my obsession of Singer my joy that I get to see Doug’s review of it but his excitement driving it is so contagious. You can see why this car is so special and has that price tag. Absolutely amazing
I doubt you could get near one without being shot. That's how special the price tag is!
You like their watches?
if you pay 2 million for that you are an idiot.
Singer have knocked it out the park! One of the most beautiful 911s I’ve ever seen! The paint is amazing! I can only imagine how beautiful it is to drive!
Keep it up Singer!
There's no way its funner then a Carrera GT with the top off
LOL the inside shot of the casino with the guy in a panda outfit running up the steps, arms waving in the air to greet the couple. LOL out of all the possible interior video clips of a casino that one was selected to be used.
The attention to detail is pure automotive art on this. Incredible work
except the passenger side window seal is all wavy. Shit work for 2 million.
LOVE the radio controls. Cannot be more simple. Absolutely love it.
You can buy them for 69 Dollars
Hole in shift knob matches headrests. There’s so many details. Still remember the day my dad told me he bought his 1984 911 Targa. I’m not keen on the years, but this one reminds me of his.
Absolutely gorgeous and breathtaking in every way possible! Huge thanks to the owner of this car for allowing to be seen, driven and reviewed objectively.
Beautiful car, thumbs up to the owner letting this one be shown. Note Singer is California based & most are built in California USA & the European clients have their cars built in the recently expanded UK facility.
And I think all DLS’ are built in the UK, regardless of destination.
No all of the Classic cars are built in Los Angeles. Only the DLS cars have been built in the UK. The new DLS Turbo will also be built in the UK.
Singer’s gotta be pleased with his review. The driving reactions tell it all. He’s experiencing driving bliss such as most of us will never know.
Lovely car. Thank you Singer.
Everyone will want one, 2 million and a four year wait
"every detail has been improved and PERFECTED!"
also, "the fuel cap position and clutch are not perfect......"
🤨
10:36 I believe they do that for weight savings. Although that may seem minimal, every ounce counts and Singer's utilize holes throughout the interiors of their cars to save as much weight as possible!
As a big Doug fan who is into watches it felt like he was coming after me the entire video 😂. Awesome review of an amazing car.
I'm so happy for Rob Dickinson, who created Singer and is also their CEO. He used to be the singer/song-writer of a band called Catherine Wheel (hence the name Singer) and I was a huge fan of their music. He turned his incredible musical talent into making incredible Porsches.
As a major Singer enthusiast but not at all a watch connoisseur, I found your quips about those types of people very entertaining
I've never heard of Singer, but man, they made such an incredible job tuning this 911. It's just plain cool
Wut.
How in the world have you never heard of Singer? They're like the Alpina or RUF of the US (Doug was completely incorrect here, they're founded, based, and Singer Porsches are built in California, have no idea where he got "UK" from 😅)
@@johnnygeorgopoulos4072 Most of people known them as 911 but the singer name was quite unknown
I've never heard of them either.
I think DLS are made in the UK. Others in California
Crazy, yesterday I was watching a bunch of Singer DLS videos on youtube and wondering when Doug would cover it. Wild car
I just said I’d love to see Doug review a singer on reddit not long ago. Glad to see that happened
My favorite part of this whole review is Doug cracking on the silly center fuel filler! He’s totally right of course, it’s an answer to a question no one asked, just a hey that’s cool add-on, but Doug can point out the quirks in the funniest way! Love me some Doug reviews!
Doug, what was it missing to not get a 10 in quality? Great video!
And styling 8... WTF
Quality measures materials and reliability. Only the Lexus LS500h and LC500 have gotten a 10
@@snakeeyes9246ah yes, losing a point for reliability is fair.
This is quite a machine, another great modified Porsche is the 1873 lb. Tuthill 911k with the flat 6 that revs to 11,000 rpm
Ive seen it. Superb car.
That car is far better than this poser
Little known fact: Singer was started by the frontman of the 90s band Catherine Wheel.
I’ve been wanting a doug review of one of these beauties forever, thank you!
YES!!!! THANK YOU for giving us the Doug review on one of these masterpieces!
@@artistnyc123 Nothing wrong with that. Rich people deserve to enjoy their money.
@@bwofficial1776you might be thinking of Saleen.
Doug the type of guy to put a towel on the ground for his knee, but then lean directly on a Singer DLS. All kidding aside, thanks for the review, as always! :)
I think these Porsche engines when redone are the sickest looking engines in the business. More like a piece of art
The ultimate Porsche 911😍👌
Not even close, that thing is the ultimate wrist watch, beautiful and utterly pointless, listen to people who actually drive 911s talk about a Singer, if you’d like I can link a couple of podcasts comparing a Singer to a RUF or just a base Porsche 964
I've waited so long for you to do a Singer review!!!
Singers are absolutely exquisite and probably objectively the best, but I really have a soft spot for the 70's Dakar rally 911s too...
Check out the Dakar one off they did. Bonkers, and the guy was apparently going to actually race it! Not sure he actually ever did.
Great review!
I prefer the looks of Singer “classic”.
But that’s kind of a moot point since I don’t have a few million to spare 😂
Would've chosen 1 or 2 different interior points, but the outside is just magnificent.
I think Practicality should be a definite 2 points, there is at least quite a bit of room for stash, especially if you count in the space behind the seats. 😄
You could build out a pretty solid collection with that $2M that would include several 911's.
You can buy less every year because Singer drives up the used car prices.
Yes, but then you wouldn't have a Singer DLS.
That car could go in a high end art museum. I would never do that but that's what perfection looks like.
No doubt my favourite review of all the 911s on this page. Thanks for the great coverage, Doug
Doug’s comment about how this was built in the UK confused me because I thought they were all built in Los Angeles.
He's reviewed every trim level of 911 from the past 25 years so he has to broaden his Porsche coverage. Doug denies it but he's absolutely a Porsche guy.
I don't give a shit how perfect it is. 2 million dollars for this is insane.
People spend much more for old pits of paint and canvas. Give me this.
@@musa7606 No they don't. That stupid Ferrari shell that just sold is such an outlier that using it as comparison is ridiculous.
@@KartKing4ever "No they don't."
No they don't what? Spend a lot more than this for oil and canvas? I guess you've never heard of this guy named "Van Gogh".
it's brave of Singer to tackle customizing an icon, because without good taste, it's immediately irreverent.
and there was born a creator, a stylist, a Hermès of tuning. hats off sir. +1👍Hermès n'est pas choisi au hasard.... 😉
Have yo seen The Tuthill Porsche 911K? a 11.000 rpm engine in a sub 900kg porsche 911 that can move like a maniac. Sorry but after seen that chris Harris video, this is ... ok. The other is a 10 out of 10.
The things I’d do to be a passenger in one of these, let alone drive it
The Porsches reimagined by Singer are IMO the perfect "modern" sportscar. They do such an incredible job with these vehicles and the results are absolutely amazing.
Any car that has a tach with the number 11 on it is a winner in my eyes.
I still think the original Singer form is the most beautiful one. All of the special editions are cool but they are too exotic. While still not cheap, the OG is where it's at IMO.
💯💯💯
Same. I'll take a Classic over the DLS. I need may need a few more zeros in my bank account first though.
i was at singer hq in 2014 back when they had no hype. nice to see how far theyve come
That's a dream car in the real world ! I would be happy just seeing one around, but I don't expect many of them in Europe.
Another brilliant video, thanks !
Doug is the kind of guy that says "I just want an old worn car that I can beat on", then looks at what is parked in his garage at home. 😄
I am so happy that companies like Singer exist. The details are everything.
Looks nice!, but i preferred the Guntherworks beast!, in every way
I wasn't a fan of Singer for the price, but this is on a different level or craftsmanship... ❤
Doug the type of guy to sponsor himself
Singer: "I bought the crappiest 911 on eBay and made it into a $2M Singer DLS."
Great video! I really do have a question. For someone with less than $10,000 to invest, how would you recommend we enter the crypto market? I am looking at studying some traders and copying their strategy rather than investing myself and losing money emotionally. What's your take on this approach?
She is really a pro, for the last month I have been making 9 BTC and using her trading signals
I and my brother have been trading with Ms Letton Deb. For over a year and I've made good profit of $86000 that's not much but I'm happy with the progress, I don't have to look for jobs anymore
Wow can't believe you guys also know expert Mrs Letton Deb
Trading with her has been the best decision i and my husband has made this year
My only regret is not starting up earlier.... I and my husband can't wait to cashout tomorrow and reinvest
2 Millions are too much for an old Porsche from Singer. Much too much.
I agree tbh
I'm a fan.
It is NOT worth $2million in any way ,shape or form
I would understand 150k at most.
I’ve been watching Doug’s videos for years now, but this one is particularly special. It’s on a whole nother level of perfection
I remember seeing a video on this about a year ago..and immediatley thinking.. YEeeahh, IF i had that kind of money TAHT is what is in my garage. I'd take this car over a fleet of those mid engine- all look the same Batmobile cars.. in the full spectum of rainbow neon colors.. LOL
