I've got two of these basses. A stock model in the Mystic Blue, and a metallic black modded with a DiMarzio Sixties P/Area J pups and a Darkglass tone capsule. The bass feels great to play and I went for this model when I wanted to add a Tone Capsule to my collection. They are simply fantastic basses. The necks are sublime
I have the green one and love it. Dont forget the stock controls have a pull on the volume knob that puts it into passive mode and bypasses the preamp. There is no tone control in this setting, but sounds great none the less.

my preamp shit itself after the second month so im going with the dark glass as well

How's it sound with a pick and the passive p pickup? Close to that Fender Precision sound or nah?
if you want to run it that way oddly enough it sounds even better if you remove the battery
