I have been doing some tests, and it is possible to defeat the Warden in a melee fight. Do note that it's more like a personal achievment, otherwise is better to just avoid the Warden, is not worth it: 1- Full netherite armor, enchanted with Protection IV. 2- Netherite Sword, enchanted with Sharpness V. 3- Potion of Turtle Master II (this is the most important part), potion of Strenght II and potion of Regen II or a gold apple (optional). 4- Totem of Undying, just in case (shields are useless against it). The metod is quite simple: while the Warden is spawning, get close, drink the potions and attack relentlessly, do all the crits you can. Netherite equipment and Turtle Master allows you to tank the hits and survive, and Strenght II gives you enough damage to kill it quickly. Do not try to flee, you can't because of the TM potion and even if you do, the Warden's sonic blast bypass your armor, it must be a close and quick fight.
I think the warden is perfect difficulty-wise. This opinion is coming from the seemingly rare person that likes stealth games. If it was easy to cheese/kill then it would take away the sense of danger it's supposed to portray. What do you think?
I heartfully agree. Once you get full enchanted-netherite gear, there is no much challenge left on mob side. Of course as Eyecraft brillantly demonstrated it, MC is rich enough to provide means to turn things over. But if you go "by the book", this is a most interesting change in the gameplay.
It's not like it is so difficult or dangerous. The point is, you have literally no reason to cheese or kill him because he doesn't drop any valuable loot. So it is not as dangerous as it is pointless. If it had any good loot, then warden farms would become a pretty common thing very soon.

Always love your videos. It's been so awesome watching you grow along the way too. Almost 80k way to go! Thanks for all these useful videos with great tips. Your nice calm and chill voice always makes it so easy to watch lol.
I love the warden, it adds something new and interesting to the game and the lore, even if it does absolutely terrify me. I also like the theories about the warden being related to axolotls which are also blind and lives in caves, although the warden doesn't look much like a salamander. I wonder though since it's blind why we get darkness and not blindness, and if it would still dig into the ground if somehow suspended in the air. (maybe it'd get scared lol like toph being uncomfortable if she's not on solid ground or made to wear shoes, since then she can't feel the vibrations through the ground to "see")
Today I got killed of one, without even seeing it. I heard of the warden before but had not a single information about him at all You helped me with your video a lot, thanks 😊
I found this video incredibly helpful thank you. Note to self avoid the warden and anything that leads you close to him. 2 avoid the nether, there is lots of bad stuff in there too. 3. Avoid caves. 4. Sleep at night. 5. Don't spend long underwater. 6. Bees can be a real pain. Just stay in the daylight build a Hutt with bed and furnace and stay in there. Make sure you have a window so you can see when it gets dark. Minecraft is easy!!!
I am playing 1.19 for a while now and the warden is very ez ... Just keep ender pearls in your hot bar and when the warden is summoned, throw an ender pearl and you're good. Then wait for the distinctive sound of the warden going back into the ground and that's that.
@Ethan Jordan you don't get anything from the warden, I don't think it even drops XP. (probably because mojang really wanted us to get the message that we're not meant to kill the warden) you get xp from mining sculk tho, when a mob dies near a sculk catalyst it spreads the sculk and absorbs the xp dropped by that mob. (I believe this was covered in Eyecraft's video about sculk)
I find it quite sad that you can't make wardens spawn outside of the deep dark, because I kinda wanted to create a swarm of skulk on the surface to take over biomes since the warden can kill mobs. Without the warden, the skulk cannot really spread on its own.
I just started playing minecraft this weekend. Our first house is built over a cave that is a warden spawn. Never played the game before and i live next to the hardest enemy in the game

I've lost my 370 days Hardcore world to this guy, cause i didnt knew how he worked ^^ Now with this video im prepared to dig him into a 2x2 hole! thanks for the content
thanks for the great video! i would be willing to bet that the wool that the illagers store in woodland mansions - including the blue shades - hints at them trying to protect themselves from the warden
Just recently started playing Minecraft again, went mining, came across this weird biome, fucked around a bit got darkness effect by those alarms a few times then I turn around and in the darkness I see the shadow of the warden, I thought it was like a minotaur or something and wondered when it came from, I had unenchanted diamond gear so I thought "whatever I'll just kill ya" but ohh boy was I in for a surprise
The only problem with the warden is in his dificulty, the way that he works if you make a noise there is basicly a low chance ro survive, you block with the shield, that means that the dificulty doenst reward good players, it is just hard, for everyone..
I've survived multiple encounters with he warden on hard difficulty. Just because you cant stand there and fight him in melee range doesn't mean you cant beat him or get away from him
I was terrified the first time I triggered a warden spawn. I died very quickly. Now when I encounter a deep dark area or ancient city, I look out for shreikers and sensors. Spotting a shreiker I will run to it and destroy it, but otherwise I just start destorying sensors. If I do trigger a shreiker while doing this and I can't get to destroy it without setting it off, then I'll back off and come back later at a different angle. If I do summon a warden I just run for it, I usually have enough time to escape while it pulls itself out of the ground.
10:45 if you want to kill it by pillaring up, you can also bring some pointed dripstone as it will do a LOT of damage to the warden if it hits it from 20+ blocks
I think that the warden is more like obstacle to avoid and not to kill, and i think even mojang show us that by just dropping usless block when you kill it. Also this mob is very strong and will affect you with a darkness effect. OP haha
i came back to minecraft after a long time. i was strip mining and the mf musical score hit and i absolutely almost shat myself. i have never quit so fast
Dig a hole drop him in and fill it in with sand. It takes a good while for him to die, but when he does the loot will float to the top of the sand. Do not be tempted to go near it until the the little swirly darkness symbol disappears. This "method" does involve some planning, and you might panic when he's chasing you. My advice is build it near the edge of the city and build in some two block high walls to break line of sight, and serpentine between them. He can run as fast as you so this will help. You can easily clear a 2x2 hole but you will need to put some trapdoors both sides of the hole and flip them open, then carefully approach the lip and start dumping in the sand.
Me and my 2 friends have been raiding ancient cities a ton and we just started a world together and it has been a ton of fun as we've been strategizing our every move while running away from the warden as well and its way too much fun.
Ive finally and ACCIDENTALLY encountered the warden randomly by just mining. I had no idea about how powerful this guy was … the heartbeat gave me so much anxiety 😭😭😭 I survived but I’ll need a team to kill the guy…
Your Warden's videos are first one I have seen on your channel and wow I have to admit, that's a lot of quality. Watching them is a real pleasure The way you are explaining those things, making them really clear Being honest, that you also have struggled with that, just wow Really good job All the best ~somebody who now knows how to deal with Warden=)
important info: warden can drop down 1 block size holes and kill you, and his charge shot goes through blocks too. and the shriekers *collectively* (all nearby shreikers function as one) can be set off *3* times before summing warden on the *4th* activation.. this guy is legit OP and broken, and slew me while digging down and blocking him off.
Dude I can just imagine a very risky trap you get sculk sensors to set off the shriekers in ur base and spawn a warden. While you get into a safe room filled with wool you can just hide and let the warden take care of the intruders it’s not a full proof plan but it’s plausible and could extremely effective since it has a natural despawn… it could really fuck up someone’s day
Bro you are awesome! im getting back into Minecraft again since its been awhile and some of the new stuff they added in the game confuses me and im still learning some of this stuff but I learned so much just by watching your videos and your actually helping me out a lot wich is why im now subbed to you. Killed a dozen of wardens. The best tactic is not to think about distraction but just have more than 20 blocks of any type ready, and as soon as it starts appearing just jump and build 20+ block pillar, if the ceiling is too low, then mine it right above and continue going up. Then in most cases I used trident, it is bit slower then bow with power 5, but it is kind more interesting to kill it this way. One more thing - if it manages to reach you with the sonic, then not only you take damage, but also fall down, and then you chances to survive are close to zero, as it will run after you very fast giving you darkness, so it is really hard to run away from it
Found that if your about id say 40-50 blocks above the warden(so like a little cave with an opening) you're able to safely snipe the warden to no punishment other than arrow wasting.

So I haven’t played in years. I went in head first without really knowing any of the updates. I would love to see if they add a warden dimension that would be insane to explore to find out the true secrets of the warden origins and his forgotten city
I just returned to minecraft after a long break and wanted to see whats new after i finally got my netherrite gear i felt confident enough to kill the new warden boss, until the cave that I'am sure was lit up turned completely dark and saw the boss coming out of the ground 5 blocks away i RAN, i ran so fast i probably set a new record
a tactic you could use for all you tnt lovers out their: When in these cities and in a place where multiple shriekers are: tnt it with wool and well tnt this can destroy most of the shriekers, and it does alert it by 1 stage so this tactic is risky but for patient players who can wait a whole 10 minutes and want to clear the city but not truly in a hurry (and like reversed fireworks): this is a decent 1 for people who want to just speed through: tnt like crazy and ender pearl when in a prediciment (or use elytra)
I genuinely thought they were TRYING to make the warden scary because of the heartbeat sound. When i first encountered the warden, i thought the heartbeats were supposed to be the player’s heart. Simulating our avatar is scared of the warden being close or something.
The first time I went deep down to mine some diamonds I of course ran into an ancient city and as I was mining out the area I awoke a Warden. I had no idea this was even a thing and it killed me through a wall. Never even saw it, just got informed I was killed by a Warden on the kill screen. Fun stuff. I guess I’ll just mine somewhere else. No way I can even compete with this Monster right now.
The warden is straight up my favorite minecraft mob ever. Even beats the enderman for me. xD It's fueled an obcession that has resulted in 7 warden OCs, a bunch of personal lore, lots of art, two ask blogs, and even a written story lmfao My version of the warden is so different from the base material that I am tempted to just create a species out of what I came up with xD
A shreiker only activates if you're on top of it or a sensor sends a signal to it. You're safe if you open a chest or jump near a shreiker, but if a sensor is nearby, that's a different story.
Don't walk on top of the shriekers or set off any sensors near them, u can jump while crouched but if u fall far enough and take fall damage it will make a sound. So does placing or breaking any blocks. Wool will block the sound tho and can be ran on without making noise

@@Tisisrealnow It doesn't if you place it on normal blocks, but it does if you place wool directly on a skulk block. At least it's supposed to.
@@GIRGHGH well i first surround the sensor in wool then cover it on top so no signal is sent
@@GIRGHGH it doesn't
I have been doing some tests, and it is possible to defeat the Warden in a melee fight. Do note that it's more like a personal achievment, otherwise is better to just avoid the Warden, is not worth it:
1- Full netherite armor, enchanted with Protection IV.
Valuable information
I think the warden is perfect difficulty-wise. This opinion is coming from the seemingly rare person that likes stealth games. If it was easy to cheese/kill then it would take away the sense of danger it's supposed to portray. What do you think?
Definitely🙏🏻
I heartfully agree. Once you get full enchanted-netherite gear, there is no much challenge left on mob side. Of course as Eyecraft brillantly demonstrated it, MC is rich enough to provide means to turn things over. But if you go "by the book", this is a most interesting change in the gameplay.
It's not like it is so difficult or dangerous. The point is, you have literally no reason to cheese or kill him because he doesn't drop any valuable loot. So it is not as dangerous as it is pointless. If it had any good loot, then warden farms would become a pretty common thing very soon.

@@РоманКараск I'm more on the side for keeping the warden more pointless to kill and generally dangerous than full of great loot. While at the same time making the Deep Dark and Ancient Cities fun/rewarding to explore. I see what Mojang is trying to do and I'm on board.
How to completely avoid the Warden:
1. Find a Sculk Shrieker.
2. Prepare a hoe.
3. Destroy Sculk Shrieker without alerting it.
4. No Warden!
Yeah 2 sculk sensor near each other with 3 sculk shriekers near 'em...guess i am lucky
@@Xx_D3V1L_xX It's time to become a TNT artist, I tried dropping tnts way above a cluster of shreikers and sculk sensors, it worked, just make sure you cleaned all the others shreiker
Destroy without altering. That is not possible
@@Xx_D3V1L_xX use wool
Another way is you can trigger the shrieker every 10 seconds using a redstone clock
But you put wool blocks everywhere around it so it's shriek cries don't sound
In Minecraft there can only be 1 shrieker that goes off per a certain number of ticks
I like how he is just so calm even when he just got hit to a near death situation like, "Welp, he just sonically charged me, this is fine."
Always love your videos. It's been so awesome watching you grow along the way too. Almost 80k way to go! Thanks for all these useful videos with great tips. Your nice calm and chill voice always makes it so easy to watch lol.
Thank you I hope things continue to go well in the future
ikr? I've not been a viewer for long but I immediately became a huge fan and constantly suggest this channel for mc tutorials or fact/info videos lol
I heard of the warden before but had not a single information about him at all
You helped me with your video a lot, thanks 😊
@Ethan Jordan Killing is literally impossible after all buffs that he got
@Ethan Jordan that got fixed, Wardens sonic boom now pierces through armor and shield
You only get a measly 5 XP and a Sculk Catalyst. That's your precious "loot", you goblin.
@@prometheanrebel3838 lmao
I find it quite sad that you can't make wardens spawn outside of the deep dark, because I kinda wanted to create a swarm of skulk on the surface to take over biomes since the warden can kill mobs. Without the warden, the skulk cannot really spread on its own.
It would be so cool if the Warden dropped its head instead of a catalyst
Finally an enemy as creepy as the cave sounds
This really gives a fun use for all those chicken eggs
Yep It definitely Adds some fun to a new item
ancient city looks perfect for an underground base
Definitely
bruh so you mean to tell me my childhood relaxing game has turned horror and on top of that THERE'S NO POINT IN KILLING IT!?
It's true lol
I just started playing minecraft this weekend. Our first house is built over a cave that is a warden spawn.
Never played the game before and i live next to the hardest enemy in the game
That’s literally the same thing that happened to me bro I had to move for a while
Recently found your videos and they're extremely useful it helped me a lot when it comes to creating stuff and making Farms or even just information on the warden although I'm a Bedrock player I have to appreciate the Java
I'd also suggest bringing a stack of observers and a stack of bells (if you have the resources for it). When a bell is constantly activated by an observer clock, it makes a perfect distraction for the warden. Then you could sneak to it, dig it down as shown in the video, break the bell and retreat as fast as you can.
I've lost my 370 days Hardcore world to this guy, cause i didnt knew how he worked ^^ Now with this video im prepared to dig him into a 2x2 hole! thanks for the content
"When they approach... we run... away."
"Sir... you're a genius."
thanks for the great video! i would be willing to bet that the wool that the illagers store in woodland mansions - including the blue shades - hints at them trying to protect themselves from the warden
They should add a feature where you can tame the warden and use it against other players
I need this
That would be straight up terrifying
@@Eyecraftmc Me too need that
Also u can do that my giving him sculk eyes
Yeah a mechanism to pacify warden would be great, otherwise it's simply a ruthless killing machine
* digs a hole to stop the warden*
* triggers another shrieker and spawns another warden *
Eyecraft: best to use spectral arrows
Bedrock Player (and me): sad crying noises

:(
xbox players: you are sad for that?
we are happy and stuck on 1.13!
@Random Kid which xbox console though? I play Xbox 1 yet I can still play regular bedrock 1.19.
Am I the only person who gets serious Stranger Things vibes from the Warden? Because they seriously seem like something you’d see in the Upside Down.
Take my like and leave rn
I always assumed the feature on his face was an eye socket that it obviously needs

"The warden is the most difficult mob in the game"
Every villager ever: am i a joke to you?
glad to see your channel growing, u really deserve it :)
I really like your Minecraft videos. You tend to explain things in a calm, clear manner.
The only problem with the warden is in his dificulty, the way that he works if you make a noise there is basicly a low chance ro survive, you block with the shield, that means that the dificulty doenst reward good players, it is just hard, for everyone..
I've survived multiple encounters with he warden on hard difficulty. Just because you cant stand there and fight him in melee range doesn't mean you cant beat him or get away from him
No. If you attack it there is a low chance to survive. But if you just run away it’s pretty easy.
Just run away. It's not worth to fight.
@@marshalllee6376 thats what im saying
If he discover where you are he is gonna smam sonicboom attack, who ignore shields, that also basicly means that you are dead
10:26 Attacking from directly above like this makes me think of dropping an anvil on it
I was terrified the first time I triggered a warden spawn.
Warden's darkness effect is also unaffected by Night Vision and so using a night vision potion is useless.
You can't see as far, but it gets rid of the pulsing from the darkness, though you could disable that in settings I believe
Definitely not useless, saves the need for torches to see those camouflaged sensors. Placing torches make you more likely to alert him
10:45 if you want to kill it by pillaring up, you can also bring some pointed dripstone as it will do a LOT of damage to the warden if it hits it from 20+ blocks
Super good job!
Thank you for another wonderful video! Quite informative and helpful :)
I think that the warden is more like obstacle to avoid and not to kill, and i think even mojang show us that by just dropping usless block when you kill it. Also this mob is very strong and will affect you with a darkness effect. OP haha
underated minecraft guide channel ngl
i came back to minecraft after a long time. i was strip mining and the mf musical score hit and i absolutely almost shat myself. i have never quit so fast
I don't like that Spawning shriekers are a limited resource, I feel like there ought to be some way for them to be reactivated.
use catalysts i believe shriekers generated by catalysts also work the same as spawning shriekers
@@larno80 I can confirm that that does not not work. Sorry.
I came here because I died in my hardcore with 60+ levels dying to it.
You’re in Spain but the S is very silent
Me and my 2 friends have been raiding ancient cities a ton and we just started a world together and it has been a ton of fun as we've been strategizing our every move while running away from the warden as well and its way too much fun.
feels like one of those animal documentaries lol
The warden in it's natural habitat, An apex-predator, a Tank if there ever was an embodiment of the word.
XD
Me watching after thinking the city was nothing but I was wrong so I log out before I die and now am stuck here watch this video.
Ive finally and ACCIDENTALLY encountered the warden randomly by just mining. I had no idea about how powerful this guy was … the heartbeat gave me so much anxiety 😭😭😭 I survived but I’ll need a team to kill the guy…
Your Warden's videos are first one I have seen on your channel and wow
I have to admit, that's a lot of quality. Watching them is a real pleasure
The way you are explaining those things, making them really clear
Being honest, that you also have struggled with that, just wow
Really good job
All the best ~somebody who now knows how to deal with Warden=)
important info: warden can drop down 1 block size holes and kill you, and his charge shot goes through blocks too. and the shriekers *collectively* (all nearby shreikers function as one) can be set off *3* times before summing warden on the *4th* activation.. this guy is legit OP and broken, and slew me while digging down and blocking him off.
when you focus so much on survival that you forget you can turn on peaceful without disabling achievements.
LOL
Baby zombie in a grassy area: "finally, a worthy opponent"
Thank you so much im having a way easier time understanding all the new updates thanks to you. ❤🙏
Even in Peaceful difficulty, I still panic after hearing a shrieker! I was just raiding the chests! It's best that I don't go alone...
You always make great and useful vedios
Amazing video as usual :D, Dude istg if u keep uploading such good content you will hit 100k in no time!
solid thumber up👍
I just discovered this. Had no idea what this area was or the shreiker thing was so all of a sudden it went pitch black and I just booked it outta there!!! 😂 I'm so glad I did cause if I'd have see that I'd had freaked!!! 🤣
U almost reach 100k keep it up 👍👍
So I haven’t played in years. I went in head first without really knowing any of the updates. I found this place underground, had the time of my life exploring it, and then the lights started flashing and this thing came out of the ground and murdered me and I was like “WTFFFF.” That was a terrifying experience. Came here for some sort of explanation lol
I just started playing again and was going down into the caves just messing around and found all these weird sensors and started breaking them and then everything got dark and this monster KILLED ME IT SCARED ME SO BAD
The unknown is too scary
After watching this video I suddenly feel confident
Warden here I come
Love this video!
1:53 the warden is like ayy wasup my brotah
very nice man
Mojang: *SPecifically implements attack to prevent players from stacking out of it's grasp*
Players: *Stack higher*
Out of all the mobs the warden is the most dangerous one to ever come to the game .it’s even terrifying than the wither and ender dragon.
Thank you for talking your time to create this video 🇲🇽
Drinking a night vision potion with the darkness effect will give you a weird ring-like effect
a tactic you could use for all you tnt lovers out their:
When in these cities and in a place where multiple shriekers are: tnt it with wool and well tnt
this can destroy most of the shriekers, and it does alert it by 1 stage so this tactic is risky but for patient players who can wait a whole 10 minutes and want to clear the city but not truly in a hurry (and like reversed fireworks): this is a decent 1
for people who want to just speed through: tnt like crazy and ender pearl when in a prediciment (or use elytra)
I genuinely thought they were TRYING to make the warden scary because of the heartbeat sound. When i first encountered the warden, i thought the heartbeats were supposed to be the player’s heart. Simulating our avatar is scared of the warden being close or something.
Having the darkness effect makes it hard to see even if you have the night_vision effect on which helps a little bit.
Have you made a video on the loadstone and respawn anchor?
The first time I went deep down to mine some diamonds I of course ran into an ancient city and as I was mining out the area I awoke a Warden. I had no idea this was even a thing and it killed me through a wall. Never even saw it, just got informed I was killed by a Warden on the kill screen.
Fun stuff. I guess I’ll just mine somewhere else. No way I can even compete with this Monster right now.
The warden is straight up my favorite minecraft mob ever. Even beats the enderman for me. xD It's fueled an obcession that has resulted in 7 warden OCs, a bunch of personal lore, lots of art, two ask blogs, and even a written story lmfao
My version of the warden is so different from the base material that I am tempted to just create a species out of what I came up with xD
I could totally see this as a test in a medieval school
11:22 Prevention is BETTER than cure, not "prevention is the best cure" haha :)
Will opening a chest activate a shrieker? Will jumping while crouching activate a shrieker?
A shreiker only activates if you're on top of it or a sensor sends a signal to it. You're safe if you open a chest or jump near a shreiker, but if a sensor is nearby, that's a different story.
Don't walk on top of the shriekers or set off any sensors near them, u can jump while crouched but if u fall far enough and take fall damage it will make a sound. So does placing or breaking any blocks. Wool will block the sound tho and can be ran on without making noise
Warden is the definition of "Fuck around and find out".
