      I remmeber the days when minecraft was only available from dodgy websites and 2nd hand Downloads, like 4 blocks 2 trees and if you git lucky you knew what you were doing, it was amazing but I couldnt play without the new stuff like when melons only spawned in mineshafts or the ocean being a big gravel pit that would happily drop on you everytime you tried to make a cool underwater base using sugar cane and doors
      Edit - or the water that uses to just flood your entire forrest because you made a water source too close to another and lava flowing faster and further than water

    There was about a year or two spell where the Minecraft updates were pretty mundane (concrete update, anyone). People really started to wonder if Minecraft was going to fall off and not reach its potential. Safe to say Mojang bounced back and didn’t let that happen. There’s honestly so many things to see and do in the game and the fact that it’s going to keep getting better is so exciting.

    I think the start of minecraft 1.14 was the start of a new minecraft Era. Think about it, we got a new fully animated trailer for the village and pillage update which hasn't been done before with past updates. All of those were just gameplay footage. Second, we got a revamp in the textures while 1.13 still had the old school retro designs. Lastly, the aquatic update felt like a send-off to the old console editions. If you played the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of minecraft, the latest version you can update the games to is 1.13.

    • @legzzzzz
      @legzzzzz Год назад +21

      1.13 really is the start in my opinion. Starting from that, Mojang really gave massive updates. 1.13 can be seen as a prelude for more massive updates onwards.

    • @KwikBR
      @KwikBR Год назад +11

      1.13 is the start.
      it added new animations, something not done before for years, and it was the first MASSIVE update to the game.

    • @n6rt9s

    • @Leonard_Wolf_2056
      @Leonard_Wolf_2056 Год назад +5

      @@KwikBR as n6rt pointed out, boomers think 1.9 killed Minecraft.
      It mostly has to do with the fact that era was when Microsoft bought Minecraft and Notch left.
      Every one thought it would change for the worse.
      I think the general problem is that from 1.9 to 1.12, they forgot to highlight "Fixed many, many bugs and glitches".

    I feel like the recovery compass needs a tweak.
    One idea is to have it stay in inventory upon death so you can bring it with you.
    Another thought is put them in ship wrecks as a rare item. If it can be coded, maybe it could first point to the buried treasure the map would point to, and then wherever you set spawn it aligns to you.

    1.17 was so weird. i didnt really play it much, i started a realm in 1.16 and after everyone stopped playing i closed it, waited for 1.17 to open it again. we only had it active for like 2 weeks because it just was so weird to have all these new items in what felt like really random ways, i specifically remember how common and frankly annoying axolotls were since they would spawn in nearly every underground water source. it was really really weird, and we all dropped it super quickly. but it was certainly worth the wait for 1.18. easily the best update ever, imo. we still play the same world on my realm we started with 1.18 and show no signs of stopping.

I remember my cousins locking me in tnt chambers and i got mad even though it was creative, man the nostalgia is crazy.
