This is the first time that I get why 1.15 was called The Buzzy Bee Update. Not only because of the bees themselves but because of the many bugs they fixed, so Mojang themselves were buzzy bees, too.
I showed up to Minecraft during the pandemic in April, 2020. My very first world I loaded up I spawned in a ruined village next to a ravine. I dug down along side of the ravine and I ran into a room with bookshelves! I had no idea what that was. Obviously, I know more about the game now, but I’ve never fought the dragon. It’s fine. There was about a year or two spell where the Minecraft updates were pretty mundane (concrete update, anyone). People really started to wonder if Minecraft was going to fall off and not reach its potential. Safe to say Mojang bounced back and didn’t let that happen. There’s honestly so many things to see and do in the game and the fact that it’s going to keep getting better is so exciting.
I think the start of minecraft 1.14 was the start of a new minecraft Era. Think about it, we got a new fully animated trailer for the village and pillage update which hasn't been done before with past updates. All of those were just gameplay footage. Second, we got a revamp in the textures while 1.13 still had the old school retro designs. Lastly, the aquatic update felt like a send-off to the old console editions. If you played the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of minecraft, the latest version you can update the games to is 1.13.
1.13 really is the start in my opinion. Starting from that, Mojang really gave massive updates. 1.13 can be seen as a prelude for more massive updates onwards.

1000%, after 1.13 it felt like mojang were really consolidating a creative direction for the game, instead of just cobbling together features. that seems to have backfired on them though bc lately they can't meet player expectations for updates
I feel like the recovery compass needs a tweak. One idea is to have it stay in inventory upon death so you can bring it with you. Another thought is put them in ship wrecks as a rare item. If it can be coded, maybe it could first point to the buried treasure the map would point to, and then wherever you set spawn it aligns to you.

Thx from a german guy
❤👌👊
Thanks for mentioning things like the smoker and lectern, but dude explain what they are and do.
I haven’t played minecraft in like 5 years… trying to go back to play made me feel so confuse and sad because I don’t know what is what anymore. So I really appreciate your video. Excited to be falling in love with minecraft again!
Wow I’m so excited for the new update but I’m mostly excited for the bamboo blocks!😊😊
god i remember opening up Minecraft with my cousins and seeing the aquatic update. so much nostalgia. I started this game in the bountiful update (2014) and wow this game is so good. I remember my cousins locking me in tnt chambers and i got mad even though it was creative, man the nostalgia is crazy.
Thank you mate. Been so long since I played Minecraft survival, perfect video for catch-up.
This is amazing. I haven't played in years and was completely lost when I started back again
love your voice my guy, def subscribing!!
Thank you. Haven't played since they added the witch, now my duaghter and I are playing together and I've been feeling overwhelmed
This dude making the best videos 😂 just about to watch it, it’s probably gonna be great but damn this is exactly the title I wanted XD
This video is so awesome.I got a new xbox one and I was transferring from Xbox 360(update 1.13)to Xbox one(1.19).And this video was so helpful.P.S,I'm glad you took your time to make this video.😁
Wow, amazing video. Really helps old players comin back
Such a good video! ❤
Holy shit I was just wondering the other day if a video existed that explains all of the Minecraft updates over the last few years, and holy shit… here it is. Thank you for this.
Thank you for this rundown! I quit after 1.9 and I’m finally getting back into it and Minecraft seemed somewhat foreign
Haven't seen this but you know it's gonna be a W
i remember when 1.9 came out and everyone freaked out about pvp. and now we're on 1.20!! actually crazy. it's been a journey
I just started playing again after 3 years and it amazes me and overwhelms me everything new that got added since last time i played
This video was so helpful as someone who stopped playing after 1.8!
The fact that the first version I remember playing (1.12, I'm fairly certain I started playing at 1.10 or 1.11 but I can't remember that far back) isn't considered modern anymore makes me feel so old and I'm only a teenager
In 1.20 zit geen Rood hout zit in 1.19 maar wel in 1.20 zit Bamboe hout | Cerry hout (is Roze)
Thinking of getting back after playing it on 1.12. Thanks for the rundown
God I remember being so excited for the Update Aquatic, and being so amazed by everything added. Everything after that still feels new to me
Currently playing the 1.16.5 and still overwhelmed about how new everything is for me. I've played Minecraft primarly when it was still in the 1.6 to 1.8 😪
I played back in 2012 and it’s soooo amazing how much has changed !!! So helpful for my old brain thank you
