If mom knew what was going on and allowed it, she ABSOLUTELY got her comeuppance. Recompense at its finest.
The mother was also accused of sexual abuse! And even if she only knew and did nothing, she was culpable; even more so as a mother is supposed to be the ultimate protector of her children! As for their subsequent conduct, HOW do you expect them to behave, after being abused and broken within their own home? Stop harping on their 'life of privilege'. Did that make up for what happened to them?

Not so fast. If I’m not mistaken the mother also sexually abused one of them not to the degree that Jose did but she did NOTHING to protect them from the psychological and sexual abuse from Their dad.
I feel sorry for the Menendez brothers. In those days no one talked about sexual abuse freely and the court system brushed off their claim and didn’t pay attention to it.
Their mother knew what was going on and she was enabling it all to happen and was keeping quiet, that’s why she deserved to die too. No one paid any attention to the brothers’ claim and didn’t offer them any therapy or psychological help. And most of all they sent them to a jail that for sure they got raped in prison :( so sad.
The guest in this podcast , David, talked with some kind of jealousy, he kept saying these two brothers from privileged were milking their parents , dressed in soft sweaters … that was so personal and mean ! We are here to judge the boys by what happened to them and what they did. We don’t care about what they wore .

I’m sorry but this is insane. I wish so badly that people like these evil parents face their time and get brutally injured rather than get murdered because that sets them free from the crimes.
After what the brothers went through i’m sure it turned them to be cold but they could have gone so many different ways over a savage and bloody murder, and then lie about it and not live humbly. They were old enough to fight back, plus if they didn’t want to go to prison then they for sure knew they shouldn’t have killed, it’s awful now cos justice isn’t served on both sides. Parents are free, brothers are suffering.
There's no proof they were molested or sexual abused. I'm sick of people making up lies just to get out of something. If you kill someone you should go to jail unless you kill them in the act of them trying to assault you or kill them while they're assaulting you. Call the police if it's really that serious. These kids were made because they're parents had enough of supporting them and they're over-the-top lifestyle. They didn't earn that money their parents did and they got mad that they stopped supporting them so they killed them.
The brothers have done their time. Their mother was aware, of the abuse/harm her sons where enduring. Regardless of their parent’s privilege. They should be released.
IMO, when the other parent allows SA, that parent is worse than the parent doing the deed.

Thanks guys for covering the Tupac Shakur case, he's meant a hell of alot to me since i was a young teenager and I'm now 43 years old. I'm hoping for some justice for the great man. R.I.P Tupac Amaru Shakur 1971-1996
The mother was complicit to the SA. A mother's job is to protect her children. When the mother allows for the abuse of her children, especially SA by their father, there is a lot of betrayal and anger from the child/children towards their mother, not just the father. Going on a spending spree was all those boys knew. Let them out. They have quite the story to tell and may help many other young boys from doing the same thing to their perpetrators. What those men went through was horrific and they have done their time.
Dave Aronberg feels for the abusers, but not for the victims. The children. What a horrible person. Horrible person. Sadly justice system attracts people like him... :-(

BUT - Buddy Dave needs to get the facts straight on the Menendez Brothers. Kitty sexually molested Lyle for years. She was also extremely vocal about never having wanted children to begin with. How they ruined her life by taking her Husband, her body, her time, her career, and her opportunities. She actually spoke those words to both boys. OFTEN.
Also to family and friends. AND -
The Judge DIDN’T ALLOW any of the sexual abuse in the second trial. Which is why they got a conviction then.
Jose was a sexual predator who devoured his own children for years. He was evil, deranged, cruel, and abusive to everyone who knew him. He was participating in satanic sexual rituals with his son Eric up to the time of the murders. THEN -
There is the Menudo Band member.
AND - MOST IMPORTANTLY: There is the letter Eric wrote to his cousin Andy, 8 months before the murders. Andy testified in both trials. But, the letter wasn’t found until AFTER Andy’s young death. It was found by his mother, Marta, who is Jose’s sister. Andy was riddled with guilt following the deaths of Jose and Kitty, but even more pertinent; after the 2nd trial. When he was assaulted with nightmares every night and eventually consumed with his own guilt. Developing an addiction to medication which claimed his life.
Nothing about this tragic story is privileged. I’m positive if given the opportunity as young infants; they would have chosen unconditional love and being cherished by BOTH of their parents. There was NO FINANCIAL motivation in the boys minds beforehand, or afterwards. They wanted the RAPE TO STOP!
They were indeed threatened by BOTH Kitty and Jose. They were in complete fear of their parents. Why?? B/C Lyle had gone to BOTH, Mother and Father and said he knew what was happening between Jose and Eric. That it hadn’t stopped as he believed, and Jose was a liar.
[B/C many years prior, Lyle had suspected that Jose was doing to Eric - what Jose had done previously to Lyle. Based on the sounds he heard coming from Eric’s bedroom as a child.] Lyle confronted Jose then as well. Jose promised Lyle he would stop at that time. So, over a decade later… Lyle finds out that it hadn’t stopped as he so childishly believed. But, that it multiplied something monstrous instead. So, Lyle went to Kitty 1st… Then to Jose. [Who already spoke with Kitty and knew everything prior to arriving home from his business trip.] When Lyle confronted Jose with this, Jose said he will do whatever/whenever with HIS SON… That Lyle’s opinion mattered not. So, Lyle said he’d expose him if he didn’t leave Eric alone… Jose stood from that conversation and essentially ordered Eric to the bedroom. For some more rape. Lyle intervened again. To save his brother. SHIT GOT REAL THEN.
The brothers had been groomed and sculpted their entire lives to NEVER speak a word of their private sessions they held with their Father. So when Adult Lyle said he’d expose Jose [AND Kitty] if he didn’t leave Eric alone from that point forward… Jose assured Lyle that - HE WOULD BE - the only one making good on any threats. That Lyle and Eric would both stay silent as they had been groomed to do. B/C NO ONE WOULD EVER COME TO KNOW… NOT EVEN ONE __ DIRTY SECRET! ABOUT THE GREAT AND POWERFUL JOSE MENENDEZ. HE HAD PLANS IN THE WORKS FOR A POLITICAL CAREER AFTER RETIRING FROM HIS MUSIC EXECUTIVE POSITION. HE WAS THE CUBAN RAGS TO RICHES… NOBODY! WOULD STEAL THAT NARRATIVE.
Ask yourself if that sounds like a nominal credential to have on any ballot…?
Think about what truly, happened to those boys… Forcibly RAPED! By their own Father! [while being fondled and molested by their MOTHER too!]

I believed the Menendez brothers from the get-go. It takes a victim like myself to know another victim. I hate when people blame me for not speaking up. Unless you walked in my shoes with threats to my life you will never ever know.
She was an accomplice to what they went through. She didn't stop it. Maybe she didnt deserve to die, but they too did not deserve for it to happen to them and she allowed it.
If everyone else knew about Jose's abuse, my guess is mom did too. That's makes her just as guilty. Thank goodness there's something happening in Tupac's case. Should of been solved a long time ago.
Don't you have the resrarch done?check other their testimonies, they both indicated kitty abused the younger brother, and knew and concealed Jose's many many victims....she threatened their lives and had the means and was also involved in child sex crimes. Sounds like these men have never experienced sexual abuse. The parents may have “just been eating ice cream” when they were murdered, but they also abused those boys for YEARS. There has been evidence that she knew and did nothing and wouldn't let family members near her husband to protect them.Her responsibility was to protect them not use them as a buffer so she didn't have to deal with her husband.They asked her for help and she did nothing. These kind of abuses will keep happening if people are allowed to turn a blind eye and treated like they have no responsibility.

Sexual assault for any child is horrific! It does unimaginable damage… mentally and physically. If the other parent is aware and does not try to stop it… then they are just as guilty! They are condoning the abuse of the child! The abuse causes mental illness in some cases… so those grown children may have felt at risk some way. I genuinely believe that Eric and Lyle Menendez were really abused by both parents but in different ways. No one can lie about such abuse as they spoke about it while on trial. They weren’t faking it. The parents didn’t deserve to be killed but I don’t believe Eric and Lyle deserved life in prison. In the first trial, the sex abuse was allowed to be brought in as a defense but in the second trial, it wasn’t allowed. I feel like if it was allowed in the second trial, there’s a chance they would’ve been sentenced to prison but not for life. There would’ve also been a different charge. Although I can see why people think the boys killed their parents for financial gain because not long after their parents died, they went on lavish spending sprees. I think they were in the wrong for doing that. If they didn’t do that, the abuse would’ve been believed especially in the second trial and they wouldn’t have been sentenced to as much time as they were. But I lean more towards the sexual abuse being the motive for the murders and they were in fear of their lives and that’s why they killed them. I’m interested in seeing where the case will go now that there is more evidence to prove that sexual abuse really did happen to the boys and there’s another victim. I hope this means that they could be released since they served their time.

I spoke with Lyle in 22 and 23. They both are doing amazing things in prison. My dad was very much like Jose minus the sa.. my dad also had money, not a millionaire, but he also was self made business man and ran for Congress in the 80s. That said, I understand why they felt they couldn't just leave. I wanted to run away multiple times but was too scared because my dad knew powerful ppl. Kids weren't believed back then either, like they r tdy. For those questioning why they didn't mention abuse right away, my half-brother molested me, and it took me 2 years to tell my dad because I thought I would get in trouble too. That's the control grip my dad had on me. He passed when I was 14. I didn't cry about it till I was 21. I finally figured out it was because I was glad to be out of his grip. I wanted to kill my dad sometimes. Yea ik that's crazy but when you're conditioned instead of raised, you can raise a sociopath or even a psychopath. It was widely believed back then, that boys or men couldn't be raped! Its 2024 and now we know better. Free them now! 35 yrs is long enough! They def will not reoffend. They deserve time with their wives, and families. PS..men like Jose or my dad only care about power and money. People thought I was spoiled. Absolutely not!

Just on the legal and scientific facts alone, we're dealing with two factual murder victims versus the alleged claims of victimhood by the two people who killed them.
How is ambushing your victims with guns blazing followed by reloading your weapon in order to deliver the killing blow to one of the victims as they are trying to crawl away count as manslaughter? By the time the brothers had to reload, the father was already dead and the mother had already taken nearly 10 rounds and was in no condition to pose any threat. How is that manslaughter? And how does that even remotely count as the brothers being in imminent danger, as they so often claim?

I agree with Mr. Aronberg this should not change their guilt. Just the brutality of the murders especially the mother. They could have left the house. They had other options. It was all about the money they wanted it and didn't want to wait any longer.💰 😡🤬

The mother had no problem with what her husband was doing to her children. She is just as guilty... all of the evidence was in the first trial and was not allowed in the second.. they were not sentenced appropriately. Murder is not ok regardless, but mom was definitely a threat to them as well. She facilitated the atrocities.

If she wouldn't let people go down the father's hallway she knew. they didn't have to tell her she already knew .She just didn't want to lose her rich life so she looked away.

Erik testified that he never wanted to believe his mother knew however in the week before the shootings his mother saw him crying and said "what's wrong with you?". He replied "nothing, you wouldn't understand". She then said "Oh I understand a lot more than you think". Erik was distraught hearing this so he yelled "I hate you" at her and she ran after him screaming "get back here you bastard".
Of course you don't have to believe Erik but when he talks about this specific incident you can see the anger forming in his face which does make me think this did happen.

Mary Menendez was a very dynamic unpredictable rageful violent person to both of her children. The fact that people reporting on this case continue to minimize her behaviour tells me they haven't watched the first trial, it's right here on youtube I suggest you go watch it. Mary Menendez was an accessory. (someone who gives assistance to the perpetrator of a crime) She was also neglectful, emotionally abusive, verbally abusive she engaged in sexual abuse of Lyle. Jose Menendez was a violent child sex offender it was proven in the first trial.

prisoners hated the Menendez brothers in prison. They were in protective custody, because they were demonized in the press. People who want prison justice dont think about who that can really effect - including people in other cases who are completely innocent, and people who are targeted for things like being queer. You can say that what the brothers did was still wrong, but people did not believe that they were survivors who killed the man who abused them. Just like Cyntoia Brown got 20 years for taking out a pedo who was imprisoning her as a trafficking victim, the justice system doesn't necessarily treat victims who took out an abuser or even acted in self defense, with mercy in consideration of the context. Sentencing should be based on if the prisoner is a danger to society or can be safely released. I don't know if the brothers would be a danger to anyone else, I believe that psychological care would have to determine that.
