    Ladies and gentlemen, though these scenes from 5:38-7:42 are deleted, these will be canon now considering they set up an entire survivor lore for the upcoming Texas Chain Saw Massacre game by GUN and Sumo Nottingham.

      And why are they cannon?

    • @nicholasjames8689
      @nicholasjames8689 10 месяцев назад +11

      @@Luka2000_ Because the tents that you see on those deleted scenes were the ones that Ana Flores and her friends set up for the night on April 1973 near the Gas Station to sleep during they’re ongoing trip to find Ana’s missing sister, Maria Flores, who went missing more than 2 weeks earlier. But of course, during their sleep in the tents, unknown to Ana and her friends, they were trespassing the Slaughter family’s property and the family kidnapped them and brought them all to the basement in the family house, tied up from their wrists or upside down by their ankles on meat hooks.
      The Cook (Drayton) tried to warn them not sleep around the Gas Station for the night as it was pretty close to the family house. But Ana insisted anyways, and unknowingly sealed the fate of her and her friends.
      So hopefully that explains a bit how the tents fit in the canon of TCM.

      @@Luka2000_ There was a article about it on their website long before the game released.
      And if you ask me, as little personal scenario. I don’t all of them died, something in my heart tells me that canonically only Sonny Williams made it out alive. But continuing from the franchise’s phrase, “Who will survive and what will be left of them?”, instead of Sonny reporting this horrific nightmare to the police, sometime after he escaped, he mysteriously vanished, never to be heard from both the family and the public ever again.
      Or another scenario I got in my head, right after Sally Hardesty made it out of the house and reported it to the police on that fateful morning of August 19th, 1973, Sheriff Jesus Maldonado and and group of deputies, one of them being Sonny’s father, break into the family house and arrest the family, and search the house and eventually find Sonny, tied up from his wrists in the basement, barely alive.

      I think it's too out of place with the observer role we have throughout the film. It's a bit sudden to switch to first person perspective for one scene and it makes one think something is goign to happen so we are less surprised when it does. IMO of course.

    Thank You for sharing this treasure trove. I plan to re-watch my 40th anniversary copy to see if these deleted/extended scenes are included in the special features.
    The clapboard is clearly visible in several scenes: the scenes inside the van were originally on August 4, 1973, Kirk's death by sledgehammer was on August 7, 1973 and (according to Gunnar Hansen's book Chain Saw Confidential) Pam's bone room/meat hook scenes were filmed the next day (August 8, 1973).
    According to the clapboard, Leatherface sawing through the front door and Sally crashing out the window was filmed on August 14, 1973. The cook in the gas station beating Sally with a broom was filmed on August 15, 1973.
    Now I know why Tobe Hooper and Kim Henkel chose August 18, 1973 as the date during which the story is set--the most grueling and horrifying scenes were filmed that day: blood sucking Grandpa, dinner table torture, and Grandpa trying to hit Sally in her head with a hammer.
    Franklin's death by chainsaw and Leatherface's chase after Sally through the woods was filmed between August 21-23?
    It looks like there were several scenes that they re-shot on a later date (the clapboard reads August 27 & August 30.)

      It could be real but, the legal logistics of getting permission to use a real dead body for a movie are a nightmare, but here is a fun way to make the dead body prop for next halloween, make a wax model body via sculpting and carving, then, cover it in clear KY jelly, let it sunbake until it's darkened and has visible melt-warping on it, then, dress it up in clothes you won't be using ever again. Getting a mouth realistic is really hard work, it might be better to just make a hole and put dentures in before the sunbake process. You could use a tan light too but that's a good bit faster than sunbaking and you'd need to steadily monitor so it doesn't get too far melted.

    14:09 - In relation to the sequels to this masterpiece, the first thing that was eliminated from the original Leatherface's personality was this dark transgender side. The 1974 film is so tense that I only came to realize this side of the serial killer recently. Psychopath, fool, transgender, cannibal, threatening. This is very confusing, very unique. It's a shame the other films tried to imitate Jason or Michael Myers. But 1974's Leather Face is the perfect blend of the perfect killer.

    Attorney: “Your Honor, and ladies and gentlemen of the jury, the events of what happened that night are as follows: My client, inhumanely called Leatherface by the townspeople, is claiming self defense, as not one, but two strangers illegally trespassed onto his property and then entered his home without permission. My client, fearful for his life, defended himself. I need not remind the jury of the Texas castle doctrine and stand your ground laws. My client was forced to defend himself against the attackers using only household items that were available and on hand that resulted in two fatalities. Soon after, two more assailants showed up and also trespassed on his property without permission. My client, feeling he was now being ambushed was forced to attack and fatally wound a third man who was later found with a knife on his person and a self inflicted wound on his arm. My client at that point, was just simply trying to scare the woman off his property using house hold garden tools. My client admittedly, did try to kill Sally. But only after she illegally, and erroneously ran to and entered into my clients place of abode. where she began destroying items in his house, including ruining a perfectly good window. My client, again fearful for his person and property, was just simply trying to chase the hysterical woman out of his house and off his property. Finally, after leaving the house, she ran down the road and subsequently forced herself into my client’s father’s gas station, a place of business close to the house. The kind, old gentleman, who admitted to tying this woman up, has testified it was only for her own good. You see, my client’s father recognized this young lady’s fit of erratic hysteria for what it was, a really bad trip from these hippies consuming large quantities of hallucinogenic mushrooms they had gathered earlier from the cow pastures by the slaughterhouse. My client’s Father, the kind hearted person that he was, knowing there were no phones that were operable, and had no gas for which to take her to the hospital, generously allowed the stranded woman to sleep the rest of the night in the safety of his own house to sleep off her paranoia induced bad trip. After a few hours of sleep, she woke up, and again became hysterical, the drugs clearly not having worn off, she again became violent and destructive in his house where she began damaging his property in a fit of violent hysterics. Finally, my client was forced to chase her out of the house a second time where she ran into the road, followed by my client’s brother, who was tragically and fatally struck by a passing semi truck. My client and his unimaginable grief took out his feelings of grief against the side of the tractor trailer, where I might add no one was hurt. My client even suffered subsequent injury to his leg, which was found to be self inflicted.
    So, you see your Honor, ladies and gentlemen of the jury, my client, the invalid, will be claiming incompetence, has suffered enough as a victim in this case, he was only caught up in a series of unfortunate misunderstandings. I ask that you find him innocent and exonerate him of all charges. Thank you.

    Why no sound?

    • @joelleon5738
      @joelleon5738 5 лет назад +34

      Because some of the audio elements got lost or distorted over time. The image did got digitally remastered, more or less. But without the original audio elements, there is not sound to restore.

    💀This Movie had Ample Opportunities to infuse some Gore, Nudity & Slasher Moments like Jason & Freddy Krueger movies. But Missed Opportunity I guess🤔

      Tobe hooper wanted this movie to get a PG rating. Hense why there's barely any gore nor nudity.

      A horror film dont need gore or nudity to be good. TCM it's a classic, Nightmare on Elm Street didn't had so much gore either. Friday 13th is only gore, the movie is overhyped, Jason is cool but it's the only good aspect of the movie

    • @Stigmatix666

      The Nightmare movies have nudity?? That's a new one.. 🤔 Compared to it's contemporary slashers, the Elm Street movies are remarkably tame regarding T&A.
      However.. The Texas Chainsaw Massacre is probably one of the best horror movies ever made. It's not exactly visceral, no. But it's a psychological mindfuck, which is far better than buckets of gore and softcore porn

      I honestly think that plays to it's strengths. It's such a well done movie, that it doesn't need to rely on gore, nudity, or sex. TCM is the movie that spawned the slasher craze. It pre-dates Halloween, Friday the 13th, Nightmare on Elm st, Child's Play, Scream, etc. There was no Friday the 13th in existence yet to take inspiration from, so it was an original film, taking inspiration from real life events instead of other films. The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974) is directly responsible for influencing movies like The Hills Have Eyes, House of 1000 Corpses, and the movies mentioned above.
