Bye Bye Builder Gel | Worst Client Ever Back After Lockdown 2!

- Hi everyone
Fay’s sick of the gel polish and wants her real nails back so today I’m showing you that you can soak of Builder Gel.
There’s a little bit of damage to these nails, partly because builder gel isn’t as strong as acrylic and partly because Fay had a mess about and a file, so we’re going to start with a pair of old cuticle nippers to remove the stones. I’m then going to remove the gel polish with a file before soaking off with acetone. Once the nails have soaked I’m going to use a cuticle pusher to gently scrape off the now soft product and finish the removal with a 240 grit file. I’m going to put another set on so I’ll also do my cuticle work with an e-file and two different cuticle bits. I’m going to finish with cuticle oil to nourish the nails before the next set.

By filing the underneath of the natural nail out, I find a client can get infinite fills unless we're drastically changing shape

Have you tried any of the remover in the bottles? I just recently bought some and it worked quite well. It seems to have little bits of fiberglass or some sort of fiber to keep the acetone from drying out. The one I tried have no reviews, so I was going in blind. It is Murana and comes in a bottle and seemed to do a really good job at removing the gel. I did get a bit on my skin and it tingled, so I tried again and covered one finger with paraffin and the other with latex and they both protected the surrounding skin :-) I have alway either filed off gel or soaked but don't like the acetone contact time on the fingers. Gorgeous work

Hi Kirsty! Love your videos! I was hoping to be early to one of these uploads so I could ask... I've been doing my own nails during the pandemic and I bought some of the acrygel to adhere crystals, but they still keep popping off. I followed your advice and used a little of the gel and a gel topcoat over top without curing. Am I just not using enough of the acrygel maybe? Thanks so much and love you and Fay!
Make sure your lamp is the recommended strength/watt for the acrygel hun xx
From what I know, acrylic holds the stones the best. Also it seems to me (from videos, not from experience) that the new acrygel is softer than the older one. Nevertheless, you should probably use a thicker layer of the acrygel

Actually you start with the pinky of the dominant hand. I really don’t know why. I first went to school in the 80’s and was taught this.
