That has the junk AFM engine too! You have to go 06 or older to get a good 5.3. I had an 08 and had a lifter collapse twice then disabled the DOD and no issues for another 100k miles
I’m about to get rid of my gmc 2023 k1500 slt before i loose warranty not worth the risk for costing 72k. My Onstar module just went out with only a whopping 13,000 miles what a joke and guess what they’re backorered don’t know when they’ll be received and theirs many people in line. Don’t recommend buying gmc or anything with all this technology luckily I have positive equity
Have a the 5.3 l engine with the 4 cyl. deactivation. Heard many problems with the more modern Deactivation ( and the trans). People told me, to turn off the deactivation. I also, change oil more often than leave it get to 10000 km. I also, try to use, high octane fuel as it is not port injection. 120 000 km, so far, it runs good. But I heard, early 2020 years had problems so not in a rush to buy another.
@@NotABot88 Oh, did not know the 8 speed was not in the 21, 22, 5.3.. Still, the lifters are there and the springs are still there even though they are not activated mon.
I have a 2024 chevy 5.3 Z71 with 14k miles. My transmission also went out. At first it started with reverse not engaging but then it would after I rev the engine. Then it went to not engaging at all. Can you please message back and give me more details on your situation

@SWHMobileDetailingLLC it's the valve body/tcm. They are on national backorder. My truck has been at the dealers going on 3 weeks now and I haven't heard a peep.from them. I'm paying out of pocket for my own rental as well and I have to continue to pay my truck note. Wtf kind of shit is this

@slicksilver9441 No it's not. Ive had both. Depends on how you drive. Ive seen people in traffic that I just know are gonna have transmission problems.

Had a 2021 Silverado complete garbage traded it for a 2016 tundra 5.7 love it
Well put and truth
I did the same, bought a 2021 tundra 5.7 platinum and added transmission cooler

Industry seems to be building trucks to self destruct.
This kinda why i still have a 2001 Chevy Suburban
