I have the 5.3 in my 2012 Suburban - excellent so far after 90,000 miles. 6 speed transmission. You must maintain these engines - proper and right oil changes.
it is pretty surprising how decent the 2.7 turned out to be, but i feel with the v8's (puts on tinfoil hat) the super thin 0w20 oil they used has at least something to do with the lifter failures, along with just poor part supplying of course
I got the 6.2 l in my truck, and I've had 91000 trouble-free miles, not a single issue.
Someone said "The 5.3 isn't great at anything, but it's pretty good at everything." and I think that sums it up just about perfectly. 😊
I have a 2022 Tahoe 6.2 and love it. The power and elegance is top notch, it's a High Country 😊
