My 2024 Tacoma Limited 4x4 has been a real great pickup! I have owned it for 9 months with 13,000 miles with no problems at all! No rattles, no transmission issues! I am very pleased with it!
I have a 2024 limited and have had zero transmission issues (or any other issues). The problems you describe is something I was experiencing in my 2019 Ranger with the 10 speed auto, which is why I got rid of it and now have a Tacoma. This is something I thought I would never do because I have always purchased American brands.
Do not know why you did that. The Tacoma sold 234,000 units in 2024. The Nissan sold 58,000. There was a reason for that. The Tacoma was the most reliable mid-size truck in 2024 by JD Power. The resale value will be far higher than your Frontier. On top of that, Nissan is in financial trouble. Honda is merging with them to bail them out. Toyota has no such problems.
4+ years owning 2 Tacoma's over 100,000 miles of No Issues ever. Not 1 penny in repairs. 1 recall they inspected the 4 bolt on both axles. No issues (I inspected before brought in for recall as well). Transmission shift flawless (I dont drive like a race car driver). Toyota = great med size truck 5 Stars
It's one thing to have to work out the kinks in a new transmission or engine... But when you have a dozen other parts having issues on a model, and other models, then you know Toyota is cutting quality while raising prices.
I’ve had my 2024 SR5 Tacoma for six months now and I wish I had not bought it. The transmission does feel funny. I’ve already had one leak. I have brought it back to the dealer three times to get the alignment right I do not off-road the truck. All of this it only has 2800 miles.
Transmission should spit out codes if there are issues. Only 9000 trucks fell into the TSB on the transmission. Not a recall. What's the issue with the alignment?
My 2025 Tacoma TRD Off Road is doing amazing, no problems at all, coming from a 2020 Tacoma TRD Pro, I can say I don't miss anything from the last gen. Better gear shifting by far...
At 1000mi on my 24 Tacoma limited hybrid had to replace the oxygen sensor when check engine lights came on, had crazy power surges when the turbo kicked in. Seems to be fine now around 2500mi
I have a 2005 with a 2.7 and a 2023 with the V6 i love both the only reason i bought the 2023 was because it was the last year for the V6 and was a little apprehensive in trying out the new 4 cylinder version in 2024 if there were any problems i guy i work with has a 2024 and he's had Zero problems and loves it personally i haven't heard any problems out there other than this video

I hate to say it, but what a bone!!!! so glade we picked up a 2024 4Runner pro in underground color-Love it!! old school Toyota quality made in JAPAN not MEXICO
If you like that prior generation. Toyota kept the 2024 4Runners kinda dated with the old look. Personally, the 2025 models look more aggressive and stylish to me.
Toyota #1 in mid-sized truck sales in 2024 with 190,000 units sold. Chevy came in second. Ford third and Nissan fourth. Go figure. Nissan hanging by a thread with their business unless Honda saves them.
Those 3.4 4.0 liter gens are looking better and better these days. Toyota trucks in north America are just garbage these days, don’t believe me read the recall logs for the last 20 years
Tundra is on its 5th year of the new gen, not 3rd. 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024, and 2025. Hence I won’t trust Toyota to fix the new Tacoma issues anytime soon.
Man I so sick of these clickbait videos there is nothing wrong with the transmissions on these trucks. All new gen vehicles have bugs to work out the Tacoma hasn’t had that many at all.
I traded my rinky dink rattle-trap 2024 ToyotaTexas Tundra for being a poor quality vehicle and received a trade-in value that reflected how poor of a quality the market views this vehicle.
13000 miles no problem. Race car acceleration. Dynamic cruise control fantastic. Blind spot monitor safety best. Stronger frame. 4 star crash rating. Compare to Nissan. Blessed to own it.
Makes me sad that the redesign of both the Tacoma and tundra is the best looking trucks imo but i dont trust the engine and transmissions. I have a 2020 tundra and from my cold dead hands unless they offer the 5.8 in a new tundra model
lol there’s no problems! It’s literally in people’s heads. They don’t like the way the transmission is programmed so right away they cry it’s defective lol Every generation of truck has had occasional failures of transmissions and engines. EVERY GEN!
No recalls. TSBs fell under 9000 trucks out of 200,000 made in this series with vin numbers. Everyone on the internet acts like all the transmissions failed. LOL, keyboard warriors googling too much and drawing anemic conclusions.
I used to own a 2006 Tacoma and I’ll be honest, I beat that thing to a pulp and it never let me down, Ever!… eventually traded it in for a 2019 Tundra..same thing… best truck I’ve ever owned, no complaints… what is Toyota doing??.. solid based trucks and totally screwing them up!.. I won’t buy another. I want a V8 so I’m looking at Chevrolet.. at least it’s still available.. for now. 😢
I've had a manual 2024 SR for a month now as my first Toyota and new vehicle with no issues and I love it. People are mostly up in arms because "grr new truck!" but they really need to give it time. It's the first year of a redesign from the ground up and there's going to be issues. The most angry people seem to be 3rd Gen owners that ignore the fact their truck is an updated 2nd Gen with a lot carried over... So yeah, there were going to be less issues the first year of those being new and in the years to follow. It would be extremely bad from a cost and reputation perspective if a manufacturer knows about patterned reliability/ quality issues which could lead to breakdowns, recalls, class action lawsuits, upset customers and thus lower sales figures, on top of having to repeatedly pay for warranty parts replacements and labor, to just keep using the same parts and methods on the assembly line and not update or reengineer things: So you really believe Toyota of all manufactures would just ignore things that clearly need to be fixed? This is why new vehicles have warranties! Yeah, it's not instant and you may wait months for parts or to know what's wrong but you need to know what you're potentially signing up for when you buy first model year ANYTHING from ANYONE. Especially since everything is a computer now with complex bus communication systems that sometimes have sporadic issues. Working at a BMW dealership, even BMW (as disconnected today of a manufacturer from what they once were) is still smart enough on a corporate level to say "hey, we gotta fix these known issues on the assembly line here and now" so it doesn't cost them and their now upset customer(s) more money and issues longer than it needs to. I can 100% assure you manufactures do audits on almost every single repair order and vehicle that goes into every dealership, and have specific diagnosis data that gets saved so they can review it later and make changes. I've had seat time in plenty of NA V6 4-Runners and Tacomas and they feel sluggish. The new Tacoma is the opposite and its a lot more driveable. The rear seat reminder was annoying... But it can be turned off in the cluster settings easily. Shoot me for this opinion but I personally love that the parking brake both automatically sets when the truck is turned off and comes off if you clutch in and give slightly more gas than you would do during a normal take off without the parking brake set. I almost never have to set or release it myself unless I'm on a steep hill. Can't speak too much on towing as I have yet to use it for so but if you're buying a midsize truck solely or mostly for towing near full capacity, let's be real, you're not the target market for a Tacoma. Should work just fine to tow a scrap metal trailer and my boat.
the real major "issues " start happening at 60k miles, when the powertrain warranty expires. this is why the 4th gen depreciates so quickly at trade-in time.
My 2024 Tacoma Limited 4x4 has been a real great pickup! I have owned it for 9 months with 13,000 miles with no problems at all! No rattles, no transmission issues! I am very pleased with it!

As a die hard Taco fan, this is exactly why I went with a frontier this time around.

It's one thing to have to work out the kinks in a new transmission or engine... But when you have a dozen other parts having issues on a model, and other models, then you know Toyota is cutting quality while raising prices.
true, but to be fair, the other problems are pretty common across all cars

Your comment is more "bot" than any actual real world experience I've seen posted by someone that actually owns one haha
I haven't seen any of them stuck on roadside yet.
