I consider myself a tech guy, but there are certain things, like massive tablet displays and non-physical buttons that simply do not translate well to cars. All this simply gets in the way of enjoying the whole package.

THANK GOD I got the M240i xDrive before they updated the interior. I thought I only dodged one bullet with the physical buttons gone, but apparently I dodged two with the heated seat subscription coming into play soon. So fucking dystopian.

Feel like my 2017 F80 M3 will be the newest, if not last, BMW I ever own. They are definitely catering the latest iDrive8 to the “screen generation”. Seems almost all auto manufacturers are going this route. I understand from a business perspective, but it is alienating a segment of buyers like myself (41M). I will always prefer analog gauges and hard climate buttons. Especially in a performance car.

I bought my 22 M340i in March specifically for the buttons, hvac, and perfect blend of touch and buttons. I had a Mercedes and when they went full touch and saw hints that 2023 BMWs were going touch and big mouth grills; the decision was made. The pre-LCI G20s are the Goldilocks. Just right

Its like the designers knew they couldnt make the kidney grilles bigger but they were itching like crackheads to make SOME grille bigger so they made the lower intake grille massive to satisfy their unhealthy obsession

The preset button was the coolest tech feature BMW ever did

The tech in it may be more complicated to use now, but what hasn't changed about the M340i is that amazing B58 inline 6 cylinder. That engine just pulls for days, and it's such a perfect sound when you rev it out~

That big screen looks like an afterthought. It doesnt suit the rest of the interior, which is basically the old one, which they took a hacksaw to, to fit the screen. Also this is BMW, they should have a screen concept, like Porsche did with the Taycan, which still reminds of the typical instrument cluster, even if it is a screen. BMW should keep it sporty like that.

Test drove the LCI and the pre-LCI. The buttons are a plus for sure. But after a short time of familiarizing myself with the ID8, didn’t have many issues. It’s a bit of a learning curve. But I’d still get an LCI if I had no other choice. The performance is still the same

It's just so wholesome and amazing that you got SXM to sponsor you. I've been watching y'all from the very first viral video (android auto vs apple car play) and to have a brand that you've loved for so long to sponsor you must be the best feeling. It's been great to see you grow. :) Love you guys!

I agree. Much prefer the 21-22 model years. By the way, the missing button is “adaptive”, not the exhaust. You get the adaptive button with the adjustable suspension. And I agree it’s worth it’s weight in gold… would not get one without it.

Man, the BMW 1-8 buttons are the most underrated but best feature of BMWs. Why would they kill it
