    Solid feeling car. It’s really quick. Quality of interior is really nice. No rattles and it takes potholes pretty well. I have the m sport suspension without the adaptive feature and it feels good to me but it’s choppy at times though well controlled. It’s quite inside on smooth road surfaces. In a car wash, make sure auto hold function is off.

I’m missing xDrive, adaptive cruise control, and the heads up display but even without those it’s an amazing car nonetheless. I wish I had those features but I got mine for $56k in comparison to this $70k sticker. I test drove the new M3 comp and m340i back to back a couple weeks ago fully intending to get the M3 but that m340 just hit the sweet spot between speed, comfort and price and I ended up placing an order for one of those instead.
    M3 is a beast for sure but stiffer suspension, stiffer seats and twitchier throttle response made it feel like not as good a choice for something that would assuredly never see a day on the track and instead be used for city and highway commuting.

    Fantastic sports sedan, but the new idrive/infotainment system is worse than the previous gen. Less intuitive with more menus to search through to get to simple functions. If this was my “fun” second car I could live with that, if this was my daily that’d get annoying real fast.

    • @bls3220
      @bls3220 Год назад

      I was worried about that when I got the car but it is pretty intuitive after using it a few times. The steering wheel lets you change radio stations but to change sources you have to do a few clicks on the screen but I usually don’t mess with it until I’m at a stop light. Basically, the learning curve is easy and once you mess with it a few times it’s not a problem. Looks nice in person as well.

    The front end isn't as bad as the M3/M4, but it's way short of gorgeous. You sure are a BMW fan-boy. That gauge cluster may be fast and clear, but it looks tacked on rather than integrated. And the "sweet spot" in the lineup at $70k? No. If you're going to spend that much, buy an Alfa Quadrifoglio with 120 HP more and much better looks.

    • @eugeneward3199
      @eugeneward3199 Год назад +5

      Good luck finding a new AR Giulia Quad for $70,000. They start at $80,000 and spec'd out versions are pushing $90,000. M340i starts at $55,000. That's a massive price discrepancy.

    • @rlsedition
      @rlsedition Год назад

      @@eugeneward3199 I didn't say a Quad cost $70k; the M340i costs that, but if you have the money to spend $70k on a sport sedan, it's likely you could spend $80k for a car with much more power, better styling and handling. I don't dislike BMWs, but I think their current designs are pretty ugly, both exteriors and interiors. I bought an Alfa and am glad I did.

    I recently bought a new 2023 BMW M340i xDrive.
    It is a very enjoyable and fun driving machine.
    Except..... I hate the controls on this irritating car.
    Everything that you need to do you have to do through the center screen and many options are buried several layers deep.
    It is a horrible, lousy, poor, very difficult and time consuming design.
    Whoever designed this horrendous controls should be fired.
    I wish I knew these designs fault as I would have never bought this car. It is my fault.
    A big shame on BMW.
