I 'm pretty sure if that was just sitting around in my parents garage , and in my wild youth -I would have figured out a way to drive it . What good sons .! Chip perfectly gleaned the soul back out of that rod - that light ,but serious , finessing saved a huge amount of cash and having it legit original makes it that beautiful example of custom Oldsmobile iron .
I would say it is getting sold to keep it fair between the sons ....unfortunately with estates that how it goes ....or they son's realize they can't care for it and maintain it like it needs to be ....the worst thing is to let it sit , it needs to be with someone who will drive it and maintain it
Thanks Chip.. Im just hopping it doesnt sit in a garage hidden for another 50+ years.. Car needs a good home or display somewhere that others can see it. Priceless! The Barris museum....
This whole series has meant so much to me. The Barris Brothers, the Anderson Brothers, Darryl Starbird Bill Cushenberry,Gene Winfield, Big Daddy Roth, they shaped my childhood love of cars and Customs. And quite you, Chip, reinforced and reivented the art.
I had Chip Foose sign my sunvisor after 15 years of a missed opportunity, which even Chip Foose hated that company that organized that event, as it hurt his brand. Anyway, it was important to me that he sign it because, in my opinion, he is our generation’s George Barris. Our generation’s Gene Winfield.
Wow. After all the episodes, this is the 1st time I wasn't questioning Harris choices. Chip, you had such a close up on all the details that I couldn't see the flow until now. Absolute rolling art.
777 likes when I got here, 778 shortly after arrival!!!. Chip Foose is a NATIONAL TREASURE, and should be regarded as such. Thanks to the descendants, and to Chip for this peek at a true classic. Too bad George Barris isn't around to see this, he would be very excited (can't help but think of Liberace quote, "I wish my brother George were here"). I just got back from a 2 hour ride on (mostly) 2 lane backroads stretching the legs on my 77 Corvette I've had for 30 years, finally got to paint it myself last year, now I'm enjoying the fall colors. Turned on the puter and now enjoying this car and it's story!
I agree with you, Chip Foose is a national treasure. I also like you comment about your 77 Corvette. I own an Orange 1977 Corvette that I purchased in 1988 for my youngest son to drive while in high school and college. After graduating college he bought a new Honda and parked the 77 in my garage. In July he came by and gave me his credit card and told me to buy whatever I needed to get it on the road again. I'm 75 years old now and not as nimble as I once was, but I'm working on it about 20 hours a week now. It should be ready to go in another 6 months.
There are plenty of people who are into detail. Mr Foose has to be one of the Very few around into Cars that can discern the correct details to make something the best it can be. Whilst not being the greatest most extreme Barris creation it describes the period it was made and the limitations of those who got it made along with it still being useable perfectly. The over the top customs get all the attention but this one reflects a more down to earth achievable Car in its day. It is what all Classic Hot Rods try to achieve but not actually being one IMHO. A great job recommissioning.
Awesomeness that car needs to be in a museum after the sons enjoy the car built by a legend & brought back to life by MR. CHIP FOOSE a legend himself 🤙🏾 Mahalo’s & aloha’s chip from Oahu,Hawaii 🤙🏾
I've said it before, and I'll say it again....this car needs to be in a museum so that everyone can come see it! It is a survivor, not another one like it!
Spectacular Barris time capsule ~ especially with the top down. The symmetry of the Jeffries scallops is spot-on straight and centered. Would be super cool to take some OG George Barris-style photos of the car, find some similar survivor old school LA backdrops to emulate
Absolutely gorgeous! I actually would call this a (minimalist) restoration, doing the least amount needed to bring the car back to it's glory days. Not a "resto-mod" that is currently so popular.
To a car guy this is kinda like finding the Mona Lisa sitting under some stuff in a corner all dusty, and then carefully and respectfully clean it and bring it back. 🙌 I'm sure they'll make a lot of good memories in it now while thinking of their dad.
I hope that if they ever decide to sell it they will give chip the first shot at it. Chip looks like he is cleaning it but what he is actually doing is wiping the drool off ❤
It's like the best 'Overhaulin' ever!😂 So, so cool! Congratulations to Chip and his team, the forward-thinking, the passion, the skill, the generosity...the full package! I feel lucky to be able to witness this. Thank you!
Beautiful preservation of a special car. Nice work Chip, loving this series of Videos. I'm sure the brothers are watching what you're doing with their car.
As family, I would think the owner would have wanted his family to make the effort to dress better in keeping with the opportunity to drive his historic car like that. That’s the car to take your family out on the town with if you’re lucky enough to afford it back in the day.
Been watching the car since the first episode - but cummon Chip - let’s have music from the ‘50’s not the 1940’s. This car deserves Rock ‘n Roll. Beautiful restoration, credit where credit is due.
Great that the boys were able to see and drive the car after the make-over; (plus you got the blower working?) Have to agree, though, the original(?) blue dash does not "work" w/ the newer candy apple red paint! Future plans? Will the owners sell it at auction?
Chip has done an awesome job saving this car Well done sir
100 thumbs up
Imagine having this car in your dad's garage for 50 years and then finally getting to hear it run. I would not sell it. Ever.
welp they are selling it
I hope whoever buys this piece of art will allow others to enjoy it also…😊

But who likes old cars and does that. There is no excuse for that car to have just sat there all those years.
Thanks Chip..
Im just hopping it doesnt sit in a garage hidden for another 50+ years..

The Barris museum....
I completely agree, and if you read my post, you'll see that I don't think these clowns fit the bill to preserve this iconic art.

Outstanding piece of Custom history! Well done Chip!
Hey Chip, thank you so much for doing what you did for her. Great job. I love it so much that I made it my homepage. George would be so proud. 🔥 🔥🔥🔥
I've really enjoyed the series of videos. Great job Chip! Amazing.

What an awesome series on this one Chip, thank you!
Your the best Chip outstanding job
❤❤❤❤ Oh my God, it turned out beautiful.
Well done indeed! After Chip touches every inch the car looks amazing with a brand new life ahead of it.
Excellent Job!!! It’s got a nice rake to it, looks like it’s level side to side too, it’s great the springs were usable. Ya gotta dig this car! 😎

A great job recommissioning.
Fantastic job with the car, it looks amazing.
I really hope you’re one of the ones that is bidding on it when it’s sold.
The results speak for themselves !!!!

Love the car looks great, would love to see some more rare birds like Canadian Fargos, Mercury pick ups and Pontiac Beaumonts
Awesomeness that car needs to be in a museum after the sons enjoy the car built by a legend & brought back to life by MR. CHIP FOOSE a legend himself 🤙🏾 Mahalo’s & aloha’s chip from Oahu,Hawaii 🤙🏾
Great job bringing it back back to Life.
I've said it before, and I'll say it again....this car needs to be in a museum so that everyone can come see it! It is a survivor, not another one like it!
No museums drive it enjoy it
Stuff built 1 year before I was born that puts it in perspective for me, you need some of those Ai gals around it, so cool, cheers Chip

Fantastic 😊👍
Thanks for Sharing
Mr Foose 🍻😎✌️
Beautiful car... please clock the steering wheel...Chip Foose is the man !!
Outstanding beautiful results! 👍👍
It's a very beautiful car.
The car's great, the sons... there's something "off" about them.
Maybe the car will straighten them out.
Thanks for sharing the journey with us.
❤ just BEAUTIFUL ❤
Beautiful job chip Doug Australia
A great piece of history shown how it was intended, just so beautiful.
Great video Chip . Thanks for sharing . 😁
Beautiful job Chip, its a stunning car. 2x👍
Interested to see how much it will sell for now 😅
As always, beautiful job
Chip..so awesome! Please take this piece of history to GNRS 2025 or/and WCK Santa Maria 2025! Our at least ask the 2 owners to take it to the shows!
Cool. Thanks for sharing.
Pure joy!
I love your work Chip
I have a 1969 Dodge X-plorer 21 I would love for you to customize.
Maybe one day.
Cheers.

Chip does such a nice job wow!
Dreams do come true!!
Perfect Perfection Chip !!!
Happy times, nice work guys..
I hope that this car will go to Louisville Kentucky for the big car show there in August.
Nice timeless classic nice restyling by Barris😎
Thank you for featuring build series. That's fantastic and hopefully will boost this great channel! I can't wait for more Continental videos.
Damnn what a Beautiful Classic Car 😎
It’s so sad that it sat without being enjoyed for so long but it’s cool that it’s still original and Chip got to save it
They need to put it on tour at the grand national roaster show
OUTSTANDING 👌👌👌
Cool car...
Outstanding
Chip's magic fingers brought this beauty back to life!
It's a cool old car and Chip did a good job reviving it but still I am not feeling that paint job; I just think it is ugly. I would repaint that car.
I hope they keep it in the family
To a car guy this is kinda like finding the Mona Lisa sitting under some stuff in a corner all dusty, and then carefully and respectfully clean it and bring it back. 🙌
I'm sure they'll make a lot of good memories in it now while thinking of their dad.
You must have a heck of a collection of cars for you not to want this one as well.
I hope that if they ever decide to sell it they will give chip the first shot at it. Chip looks like he is cleaning it but what he is actually doing is wiping the drool off ❤
Those guys should keep that car and enjoy it.
Thanks!
Chip you are the MASTER.

Mr. Foose, his royal Foose, that great warm hearted guy Foose. Shows the care and skill to touch families. You are a treasure to our country.!
Very cool 😎
L👀KS amazing Chip very
C👀L!😎🇺🇸👍🏻🦅😇🎃
Loving this journey and watching a legend at work , good job chip 👍😎
Fantastic
Chip, there’s a Barris custom 1959 Olds Dynamic “Miss Behavin” for sale in Dumas, Arkansas. It’s autographed by George Barris and Gene Winfield.
Been watching the car since the first episode - but cummon Chip - let’s have music from the ‘50’s not the 1940’s. This car deserves Rock ‘n Roll.
Beautiful restoration, credit where credit is due.
All.we did.was.clean is an understatement
Pretty cool. It rocks.......
Freaking awesomeness
Sweet ride !!!
Is that Celine Dion in the passenger seat?!
haaa! c’mone man! wicked funny! when I first saw it as well, I was like “whoa why hello!” (Kramer)
FANTASTIC
Wonderful
Well done
The Barris movie cars are another story in itself.
Great that the boys were able to see and drive the car after the make-over; (plus you

Super cool
Defines cool👍🏼
Thanks Chip.
Well not every American boy…I was into Hotrods not “lead sleds “, as we called them. Still drive hotrods.
You can tell by how tastefully this car was done , that Sam Barris , not George did the work on this car .
