There's a little notch on the side of the barton shifter, where you can see that o-ring which is what keeps the shifter in place. So what I did was cut that o-ring into 2 pieces so that I can remove the o-ring halves from that notch when I need to remove the shifter. When I put it back together, I just place the two halves back in the slot before pushing the handle back in and it holds all the same. I don't know how to state that tip very clearly.
Please do a clutch replacement video for the Focus st, Bill. Thank you. Love your videos btw. Saved me lots of money watching your install videos for my 2013 ST.
Does anyone know if all the 2015 mustang gt's are 8 bolt flywheels?...mine is the pp1 and I'm about to buy this kit and want to make sure i get the right one with the correct flywheel
You never showed the pressure plate. Bought the same clutch but what I did notice is the clutch plate is larger than the pressure plate and my flywheel. It hangs over the inside by 1/4". Something does not seem right. This is on a 2015 pp Mustang gt.
This clutch is kinda a bitch to slip. it either wants to be engaged or disengaged. I put this on my 06 a long time ago and after some 30k miles it's either finally broken in or it's starting to go out. Engagement point seems to have moved even higher. If you need 850lb ft holding power then this is probably the clutch for you, but if you are in the 500rwhp club then a stage 2 is probably a more streetable and cheaper option. the pedal is also much heavier than stock with this clutch. It probably sounds like i'm bashing it, but it's really a good clutch. It just likes to launch hard every time
And 7 months later i ordered a 2+ to replace it from cj pony parts. I'm not sure what's up with mine, but it's coming out. My engagement point seems to move around. one morning it will be towards the top and next day in the middle. It's definitely trying to tell me something.
Ahhh man, Im soo sad to hear that. I really loved that project and im glad you guys did it. Helped me a lot with choosing parts and installing them too. So did it stop at the inter cooler dyno run? How much did you sell it for?
After watching I went with a Spec Stage 2 and matching flywheel. McLoud throwout bearing and Steeda braded line. Clutch is much heavier now vs stock. Takes much more effort. Should it have a stock feel?
I want to do my clutch and flywheel have a 14 GT. NA with a tune what do I really need? I don't want a stock replacement and don't mind a heavy clutch.
@@deonte2x809 Holding off, I have bigger issues than a clutch in a car that I don't use. I may be laid off very soon, one must prioritize in these uncertain times.
Odd request, but do you by any chance at all have clips that you could put together showing the difference in how it free revs between the stock flywheel and the Al flywheel?

He didn’t tho

i got a spec stage 1 on my 14 v6 and it sound like it grinds from 2k rpm to 2500 and the hitting point is soo high on mines i don’t even know
Bill I have an important question that I can’t find an answer on. Do you have to torque in the bell housing bolts To spec
Great video
Why didn’t you replace the throwout bearing while you were in there?
too expensive.

scbird1 not sure what you mean by I never showed the pressure plate? I showed it several times including when I installed it,
@@cjponyparts Oh just the inside. Its smaller than the clutch plate.
With the extra pressure provided by the pressure plate are you not worried about premature crankshaft thrust bearing failure?

Any update on the Focus St project? I feel like we haven't seen that car in awhile!
We sold both of our Focus's (foci?) and just have the RS now. We have some local STs when new parts come out.

Would you recommend this clutch for 2.9 Whipple supercharged gen 1 mustang ?
Do you need a new throwout bearing? Would any aftermarket flywheel work?
How did it hold up
Odd request, but do you by any chance at all have clips that you could put together showing the difference in how it free revs between the stock flywheel and the Al flywheel?
BlackC5Z06 I'm interested in this as well.
I'll see what I can do but honestly it would be very difficult to tell. remember my engine is spinning a blower as well.
Bill Tumas do you notice if the engine revs more freely now?
I have a 03 cobra how would a spec 3 work . Or what do you recommend I'm at 478 hp
i know im late but my 5.0 is stock, would slapping a stage 3 be too much for daily driving
It's a lot of clutch for stock, heavier pedal and aggressive engagement. I would suggest one of the Ram or McLeod stock style clutches we offer.
What are the benefits of the aluminum flywheel. And how does the lighter weight flywheel affect the overall driveability and the way the engine revs
Jason Schaeffer the aluminum will allow the engine to rev up faster and the engagement is not quite as harsh
What slave cylinder/throwout bearing did you guys use? I am installing this same clutch.
@@cjponyparts how much does it cost to get an aluminum flywheel for my 2016 mustang GT ?
Can the clutch install be done with long tube headers in place or do they have to be removed?
Depends on the headers but typically you have to remove at least the passenger side
It says to return to stock idle, rev limiter etc... do you have to do that for crank relearn?
How come it looks like the other guy did all the hard work
He wanted to get his hands dirty!
Hey was the part behind the flywheel the pulse ring?
Yes
Will that clutch fit a stock 2012 mustang 5.0?
Yes.

Yes
