The medium mode is fine for daily use… the boost mode is only for a short burst usage.
Also don’t use the low reach adapter when you are hoovering the open floor, go wand straight into the body, there is less flex then. I can see you are struggling in the open.
You need to consider getting a fluffy roller cleaner head, you have a lot of hard floor space.
The above will make your experience much better.

I would never use a roller to vacuum rice or beans, that's why they have a crevice tool on the wand and back to the roller.

You are using the wrong head for hard floors. You should use the soft roller.

You said wrapped nicely. Does each piece come in plastic baggies? And was there stickers on the motor part? Does the stick say Dyson cyclone on the side?
