This is an excellent video. I hesitated to leave a comment. I just got my V10 yesterday. And it is already a love/hate relationship...but I need to remember what I got it for. I don't think the battery lasts 20 minutes on the super boost...but it really does a good job. I had got it mainly for the hardwood floor part of the floorspace...but then I love the convenience of no cord, and tried to vacuum the living room. Granted it is a big living room. The battery did not last to finish it. If you had a smaller home, it would be perfect. I will try to be content with it for the hardwood floors...cause it is so nice to get around the dining table, etc.
*This is my 3rd Crosswave in several years **MyBest.Tools** I use it several times a day. It sees hard use. Best floor cleaning machine ever. I’d never be without one.*
I have the V10 animal and absolutely love it. I have a St. Bernard/Great Pyrenees cross and a German Shepard/Great Pyrenees cross so I have a lot of pet hair to vacuum up each day. It’s so easy to use. It is important to remember when washing the filter to use COLD water. I didn’t and had to replace the filter. Ordering was quick and easy. Great customer service.
*I tried several products for my HW and this is the best **MyBest.Tools** Mops and vacuum cleans at the same time. Keeps dirty water separate and overall very pleased with this product.*
Wonderful video so glad I found your site. Charged my dyson v10 last night ready to go but thought I would look for one of your videos and found this one before I started thank you so much for wonderful instructions because Dyson are expensive and I was nervous whether I had bought the right one . But you have made this 82 year old feel very comfortable about my new purchase. Cheers from Australia
Fantastic video! V10 arrived today and as there was no accompanying information from Dyson regarding the purpose of the attachments etc, thought I’d better seek assistance online. Congratulations on your presentation which was clear, concise and informative. Much appreciated.
We live in the Sonora desert the one with the huge cactus 🌵 dust is a problem here. The ground is tightly packed, the moment anyone disrupts the top layer which holds everything together dust is everywhere. We get small but powerful tornados known as dust devils, I was caught in one once, it almost lifted my car off the ground, and indeed it sounds like a freight train. I am hoping the portability is a great help, thank you for a very informative presentation 👍
thank you for your easy to understand video, there were no instructions with my new dyson and having had the v8 absolute before ,the bin emptying was completely different and not so easy to do until you get used to it, thanks for explaining this bit in particular.
Really good video, appreciate you running down the features (and especially thanks for the cleaning tips). Finally bought one of these a couple of days ago, and I'm very impressed. Only thing I would ask for is for it to be lighter, but the weight isn't bad, and it's a powerful vacuum.
I have the V10 Animal Turquoise. This vacuum is good even if you don’t have animals, I do have 2 cute cats 🐈🐈. I love this vacuum cleaner and never will I go to a cordless vacuum cleaner again. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Just got this today. Very excited :) replaced a crappy Samsung stick jet vacuume. I previously had a Dyson v6 or v8 had that for years but got the Samsung after Dyson needed replacing. Can’t wait to use my animal v10 tonight, after it’s finished charging. Look forward to it. The Samsung was so heavy and cut out had minimal time usage and very heavy to push and manoeuvre around.
Thank you for the informative video! You gave me ideas on how to use the tools for different jobs. I just brought a V10 and I am very impressed. I vacuumed my mattress and was really impressed with the job. Cleaning the air conditioning units in my rooms! WOW! After watching this video I used the dusting brush on blast and it did a fantastic job! I have pets I thought my floors were clean.. it pulled cat hair from the hard wood floors that you don't even see! Great job! I enjoy emptying the dust bin! My suggestions on this tool is that I wish it had a sturdier connection with the wand and floor sweeper tool. It doesn't stand up on it's on. (or should it?) It fell over 👀and I was worried! And I wish the floor sweeper had a light.
Your video has been so great!!! It has been really usefull for me to understand my new V10 animal. The Dyson manual provides the very basic information. Thank you so much for your excelent video.
Thank you for sharing such a wonder review and tutorial. By the way, Your voice is so very pleasant and is greatly appreciated. Your presentation is professional and courteous and thank goodness free of background noise or distracting music. I just bought this today and it’s still charging. Mainly we have hardwood floors. This is a really big purchase for me, as well as a luxury. I was very hesitant to buy a cordless anything, because it seems that cordless simply doesn’t last as long or work as strong as a corded anything. Thank you again for a wonderful review.
Thanks for this video. I viewed it while I was waiting for mine to be delivered. I learned a few cool things such as the ability to clean the filter and brush heads. That will be helpful for my hairy, stinky dogs! You were a pleasure to watch as well. Very professional and welcoming@
I also want to thank you for this and the other video. I am trying to get a filter as you suggested because the last time I cleaned it, it took several days to dry. Dry humid here.
Thank you. I purchased one last year but found I didn't know how to use some of the accessories properly which you cleared up nicely. I watched your maintenance video and found that very helpful as well.
Just received my animal and it came with a spare filter with a note that it will be easier to let the first dry completely. I've noticed when the animals reviewed in the USA the main head has a slot switch on the front of the head. Not on the UK one, not sure why the difference.
Some of the models of V10 / V11 and V15 have the slot in the head, mainly on the Absolute models which are good for picking up larger particles like breakfast cereal.
Great, detailed video on the Animal and I am thinking of purchasing one. I've bought 2 v6 animal dysons and have loved them. They are both still working well.
Your video is super helpful! Btw I used an elastic hair band - I cut it and tied it around the on switch . I simply wrap it around the switch and then I don’t need to use my finger to hold it down!
Thank you so much for this video! I just unpacked my Dyson v10 animal and missed being able to read words in the instruction manual! I’m so glad I got the V10 for the extra capacity (even though I don’t realize that difference at the time I purchased)
Without this video I would not be using my new Dyson correctly I need instructions to refer only the box showed some directions Couldn’t put box in drawer for future reference!! So thank you
I've goat the original, old. I have the charger installed in a long cupboard. I'm unclear if this is the same charger concept (or same charger) and how do I plug in and install?
I like the vacuum but blows out fast air out of filter vent when I accidentally pushed the power button on when holding the body. Blew fast air it went under my eyeglasses into my eyes. Dry my eyeballs. Hate that. Just got it today. When I start using vacuum and that happens again hope dust won't blow out into my eyes, you think? When holding the body, I have to make sure my finger not on the power button.
This sounds correct that the vacuum will blow the air out the vacuum, but it shouldn't be dusty as the filters should get rid of the dust before it exits the machine
I just bought the V10 Absolute and I was confused as to the function of the different tools and this video has made it very clear for me. I got two floor heads and you mentioned the fluffy head. Can you tell me what is the purpose of this head? Thanks for the video.
The main purpose of the fluffy head is for hard floors and to pick up larger particles like breakfast cereal. Hope you enjoy your vacuum cleaner, thanks for the feedback

At the moment we dont but hopefully going to stock them soon. I have tried several and they dont have the panache of the Dyson but the performance is pretty good. They are a bit of a hype at the moment like Gtech were several years ago
The certainly do have good marketing. My perception of Gtech overall is "underpowered" but good if the weight of a machine is an issue. I was surprised recently though. As much as I like Dyson. My V6 motorised head failed after less than 3 years with only occasional use. Disappointed. Also Why don't dyson do interchangeable batteries?
Best things is to remove and clean the filters properly. If this still doesn't work then it may need to be taken apart a bit more to see if there is a blockage. Good luck
