You get a high five and a well done from me for your work and especially that you captured it all in 22 minutes. I will also admit that I held my breath when you were standing on the top level of the ladder but you pulled it off. And finally, it was too cool when you ended driving your lawn mower into your freshly minted shed!!
Seen a bunch, this by far is the best shed build I’ve seen yet. Love the attention to detail with the soffits. Did you follow a plan or is this design from your own idea? Thank you for posting!!❤
I appreciate it! I didn't use any plans. I did go a little extra on the soffits and I wanted bigger door that would let me get my riding mower in there. Thanks for watching!
Wow it looks great! how long did it take you? I'm looking to do this in the summer - knock the metal shed the previous owners had and build a 12x14 shed.
great video. going to be using a lot of this over the next couple weeks while building my shed. Question. You have 9 - 2x6x8' - floor joists listed in the materials. Where did these come into play. I can see about 14' of 2x6 for blocking, but can't find where to account for all of those 2x6x8'. thanks
I think that was extra material. I was going to do more blocking and use some for another project. There was also some extra 2x4 in there but not sure exactly how much. I copied that list straight from the invoice. You can use it as a guide if you're doing the same size, but my numbers will probably be different than yours.
This was a 4/12 pitch with 2x4 rafters, no ridge board, and gussets on both sides center to outside wall 72" siding 5/8" overhang 10" total run 82 5/8" approximate rafter length long to short 87 1/8" (this will change depending on the overhang you want) There are online rafter calculators available to make it easy. Good luck with the build.
Using ladders in such a way will quickly end your hopes of a long and healthy life. Trips and falls come high up in the uk accident figures. I’m sure that’s not just idiots in the uk who contribute to those.
@@buchananbuilds485 hope you have a taller A-frame now. Made be scared watching ppl standing on the very top step, and the ladder shakes. Be safe out there. Good job on the shed.
Totally disappointed with the title shot of this video. I only went into this video to comment. If you really think it’s ok to show young or inexperienced people that it’s ok to stand on a ladder like that then you should do the right thing and remove this from RUclips. I’m shore your American Health and Safety group would agree.
Thanks for watching. If you enjoyed the video, please subscribe to the channel. I have more cool projects coming up.

Thanks for the high five. I'll admit it was a little iffy up there.
Great video man! Also quick question what pitch is that roof? And what size 2x4 did you use?
Thank you. 4/12 pitch and 8' 2x4 for the rafters.
What a cute little cat. Great job on the build!
She's a good kitty. Thanks for watching.

Well done, thumbs up.
Thanks!
you are an awsome carptener, sir.very nice
Thanks for the nice compliment!
Fantastic video, great shed was hoping to see the inside and trusses and if you built a loft? Also.
Thank you. I did build some shelves later. I may do a video on them.
Nice! I'm building the sane thing. Thanks for posting
Thanks for watching

Thank you! It was probably 30-35 hours after work and weekends.
Nice job!
I appreciate it!
Hey awesome video! I have a question for the walls what was the height 2x4x8 or 2x4x10s? I saw that at 3:57 you cut them down to a specific size.
Thank you! The studs are 8'.

Perfect. Thanks for the quick reply.
Hopefully that was somewhat helpful.
Congratulations very good job
Thank you very much!
Great build.. Did you use 4x4 or 6x6 brown treared runners for floor foundation?
Thanks! I used 4x4s.
Can you add a list of materials used to build your shed?
I put a list in the description that includes most of the materials used.
I was gonna ask the same thing! And maybe a round about $$ figure.
great job!
Thanks!
Hi, great video.. at 9:16 what is the black metal piece that appears at the wall edge? is this only on that door end? I don't see it on the walls?
It's called Z flashing. It's on both ends of the shed where the sheets of siding meet horizontally to prevent water infiltration. Thanks for watching!
well done Sir....
Thank you!
Nice work.
Thanks for watching!
Great job bro thanks for the vid
Thanks for watching!
Hi, great work. Was it $3800, including paint?
Thanks. That is not including paint. We had some left from painting the house.
Nice work. You had no hair when you started and you were hairy when you finished.
Thanks. It took me a while to get to the painting.
I noticed you had a big gap between the floor joist at the end what was the spacing because I am building the same building and it needed 1 more 2x6
I did add another joist in there.
What length did you cut the wall studs so that your siding covered from 2x6 subfloor to top of double plate ceiling?
The stud length is 85". I was trying to keep it under the height limit for not permitted structures in my area. Yours may vary.
By chance do you have a list of the parts you need
I have a rough lumber estimate in the video description.
Definitely wouldn’t put the eves overtop of the siding like that. Will be kicking yourself if you ever have to replace it
Let's hope I never have to.
Great build. Looks real buff.
Hi can you give me the dimensions of your rafters? I’m building a 12x16 next week.
This was a 4/12 pitch with 2x4 rafters, no ridge board, and gussets on both sides
center to outside wall 72"
siding 5/8"
overhang 10"
total run 82 5/8"
approximate rafter length long to short 87 1/8" (this will change depending on the overhang you want)
There are online rafter calculators available to make it easy. Good luck with the build.
@@buchananbuilds485 thank you for the info
Do u have a materials list?
There is a list in the description, but I ordered extra 2x4 8' and 12' so the actual number would be lower for those. I don't know the exact amount.
What’s the siding you used called ?
T1-11
How far apart are the 2x4s?
And at what degree did you vut the 2x4s to make the framing for the roof?
Everything is 16" on center and the roof is 4/12 pitch.
@@buchananbuilds485 wish I could build one. Appreciate it brother.
How much was it for material?
I think it was around $3800.
What was the grand total of material?
It was around $3800. That is with some extra 2x4, maybe 10-15%.
What's her name? (your cat)

Did you just start your channel Where are all your subscribers 😲
Right? The subs are a little slow coming in, but I've got more videos coming.

your fingers are way too close to that blade.
It's a shame you went through all that, but didn't build a proper foundation.
Not very safe use of a ladder. Get a taller ladder.
Sometimes you work with what you have.
