@diarydaki I had to Google chocolate salami first and then I realised we had something similar in Estonia too, but it was called Spotted Dog and it has marmalade in it also. 💛

My favourite cake is Kyiv cake, it's very delicious (a protein cake with butter cream and nuts). I can eat it every day 🍰🫖☕I cooked your cake when I was a student. It calls an anthill in Ukraine (Murashnyk in Ukrainian).

I am not usually fond of sweets or desserts, but that strudel braid looks delicious. I think I could enjoy a slice of it. 😋 👍🏻

I usually try to avoid sweets and don't make these kinds of desserts, but that raisin-cinnamon bread was very delicious 😁

Kissel was popular in Poland as well, and probably all over Slavic countries :) good use for summer compote if you want to fill up kiddos a bit ;-) in pl most popular were rhubarb, strawberry and cherry.
One of my fav was "winter kissel" my gran made when we'd got sick - lots of orange or lemon juice, grated ginger and honey, then sprinkled with cinnamon and topped up with some more raw honey to taste.
We also had something similar to Arthur's Cat Cake, but here it was shaped into small drops and called "Szyszki" - pinecones!
As for mannah - it roots in biblical stories! - in Poland it was always made on sweetened milk. And I hated it's gritty texture :P
Other popular desserts when I was growing up consist of:
    - kogel mogel aka egg yolks creamed with sugar
    - racuchy - yeasted pancakes with apple pieces in the batter, or just with jam
    - budyń - milk pudding, usually vannila or cocoa. Often served with some kind of berry jam.
    - and any kind of easy cakes, similar to Victoria Sponge Cake, with added stuff you had on hand - fruits, or nuts, or raisins.

Yes, we made rhubarb kissel a lot too! It was actually very good. And your grandmother's winter kissel sounds very good and healthy during cold winters.
But kogel mogel... 😆 My brother liked it. I mean, it was a no from me, haha. And budyń, we had something similar. It was often served at kindergarten and school, and I remember I didn't like it at all! 😀 Probably because it was served all the time.

We had something similar to your first dessert with the corn but it was made with rice crispies or cornflakes. The easiest way to make it is to melt chocolate and stir in the cereal and whatever else you fancy- raisins, nuts etc. Then leave in the fridge to set and cut into squares or oblong fingers. We loved it 😍
Your last dessert is so beautiful! ❤

We had something similar too, where we put cookies and marmalade into melted chocolate mix, and it was called 'Spotted Dog' 😆 Somehow, my family didn't make it, or at least I don't remember. But thank you! ❤

I love the corn puff dessert you made! I buy the puffs at our european store! I'm going to have to make it!

Thank you! ☺ Yes you will probably find them there! Mine had sugar in it, which made them extra sweet, so I would recommend just plain corn puffs if you find.
