Ah I was there - i know exactly where he is and Perth is just gorgeous. If I could roll the clock back 20 years I'd emigrate there in a heartbeat. What a stunning City and the rest of WA is amazing too - and so EMPTY. When you live near London everywhere is absolutely crowded, busy and hectic. Western Australia is 11 times the size of the UK with a population of c. 2.5M. It's hard to comprehend the emptiness and I LOVED IT!

Gday Lee, welcome to Perth where I live. Been watching your blogs now for ages, I think I have seen them all and really enjoy your sense of humour, personality and content. As I am female and over 70, that's an achievement on your part to get through to me. You got me with your chatter on your Electric Porsche.........you just have me in fits of laughter. So thanks for that.
Just one comment, well educational lesson without prejudice. You mentioned in your Kings Park tour and at the top of the DNA tower that in the Autumn when the leaves have fallen from the trees you would have a better view of Perth. Gum trees are not usually deciduous, pretty much green all year round unlike your beautiful trees in the UK. Enjoy Perth, sorry about the current heatwave..

That's a beautiful park you're walking through before and after breakfast. But practically no one around. Well, the entire island contains only 26 million people. I expect city centres to be busy, but outside built up areas not busy at all. Shame about the toast being hard, because I thought it looked really tasty. I buy so-called artisan sourdough bread frequently, but you need to butter it while still warm. The butter, or Clover, softens it somewhat. Were those sausages pork or beef? I wonder when the full English breakfast first came to Australia? Perhaps you could ask a cafe owner.

Giving an insight into Perth, instead of just a name on a map, and I must say, I'm impressed so far. That park is truly amazing. You'd think you were out in the wilds, not so close to the city. Particualry liked the DNA Tower. It's a 'folly in essence. Wonderful. I'm thinking the food prices are very comparable to the UK btw. Basically, just halve the price of everything we see. Enjoying this trip so far, especially the classic car show.

I find that DNA tower fascinating. What a view! It would take me a lot longer to climb up, because I'm 78 and use a walking stick. That's why the steps are low, so that kids and oldies can manage them. So far, what I've seen from Australia is very impressive. Would we build a DNA tower in Britain? We have several passive sights, like the Angel of the North, or those weird wire horse sculptures.

I cut off the rind & any bone then fry it on a low heat for around 20 minutes until it looks golden. Australia, best country in the world! Food is epic, I’ve been 3 times and visited most of the major cities, Perth, Sydney, Adelaide, Cairns, Brisbane, Melbourne, Darwin and the amazing Alice Springs. Coffee is amazing everywhere and the food if you are adventurous is outstanding and does not need to be expensive! ❤ Australia! Don’t worry about the snakes, the spiders ate them all 🤣🤣🤣
