I visited Oz 15yrs ago and was blown away by so many beautiful places and just how friendly the locals were. I was fortunate to travel from east to west and will definitely return again.
Loving the Perth videos Lee,i would never of thought it to be such a beautiful city. Not to much hustle bustle, friendly and clean. All those youtubers that have been having a go lately should be watching and learn how it should be done. Excellent work Lee,just make sure you take the time to enjoy your experience 😊
Thank you.
Australia 🇦🇺 looks so clean and tidy, compare that to 🇬🇧 which looks like a refuse tip.
I had gentleman from the USA say the same. Gas and iron ore exports give the state surplus budget funds. Great place to live.
Aw. Don't say that.
This is the one that did it for me Lee, i am an old timer but if I could I would get a one way ticket to Australia and never return.
Thanks Lee for your Perth videos. Very complimentary to our town and i enjoy your humour. Am also enjoying your other videos from your other travels as a new viewer of your channel. Good job 👍
Wow, that blue sky. I'm not jealous at all.
Perth has a Mediterranean climate.
Lee, you’ll need a really long extension cord to drive the Tesla across the Nullarbor Plain 😅
Lee, you don’t have a problem eating cod and halibut and they don’t eat us!! I think the “off piste” comeback from your friend went right over your head.
Just started catching up on your Aussie videos mate. Perth looks lovely and beautiful houses and scenery. The food you had with your friend looked decent as well. Looking forward to watching the rest of your journey buddy👍
Amazing video lee loved every minute those houses are fab if only haha your friend was a lovelly man 😂❤
Great video looking forward to seeing the next one 👍
loving the Australia vids they have got 2,700 fish and chip shops over there!
my Mrs wants to move over there, not sure I could leave good old Notts!
By the way, there are no Starbucks in Western Australia, we have real coffee 😊.
LEE!! You can't visit Perth and not go over to Rottnest Island by Ferry and take a selfie with a Quokka...Even THOR took a selfie 😁😁
Thor blimey!
@@matthewetheridge4535 😂😂
100% go to rotto. Rottnes island.
Or Rat's nest for us locals ❤.
Never seen Barramundi battered it's usually pan fried with crispy skin - yum.
Another good vlog Lee.
Parmo was created by Nicos Harris, a Greek American navy chef. He was wounded off the coast of France, and brought to the United Kingdom to be treated at what is now James Cook University Hospital, Middlesbrough.
Lee, you really need to come back to WA, but you need to visit the South, especially Busselton and the Margaret River region, Denmark and Albany. Also the North - Broome, the Pilbara, the Kimberley and the goldfields to the East (Kalgoorlie). Perth is just scratching the surface. EV is not the way forward in a state/country this large - hybrid is. I have to say of all the fish used in Oz, Barramundi and probably Red Spot Emperor are probably my favourites - certainly preferable to cod for me. As to the weather, it isn't "grim down South" in winter. Yes, you may occasionally see snow on the Stirling Ranges, but that's a rarity. If you want snow you need to go over east to the Australian Alps.
You walked through Cottesloe and missed out on Amberjack - one of the best fish and chip locations in the Perth metro area. As I pointed out in one of your other videos, curry sauce and mushy peas are not a generally recognised accompaniment to fish and chips here. The only place I have come across that offers both is Ocean and Paddock in Albany. Albany is well worth a visit as it is where the Anzac troops departed from en-route to the Crimea in WWI. There is a fantastic interactive museum dedicated to the historical event, high in the hills overlooking the vast natural harbour.
I think you will enjoy Snapper or gummy shark when you eventually try them. Hillary’s is lovely. At dusk the sky turns a lovely mauve colour which I named, “the darkness lit” and the stars really stand out and twinkle in the clean atmosphere. I stayed on the beach at Scarborough with a friend. Cottesloe is nice too and it’s the place where a man, swimming with friends was killed by a shark…..🦈 ah, ha, I’d just written this and next thing, your mate told you about it!
Yep Parmo is a local delicacy here in Middlesbrough and taken very seriously.
You looked like you were really enjoying this man's company. Nice to find someone from home when you are away. Loved the conversation about cars and his experiences with working in motorsports. Lovely driving the West Coast highway.
If i had a pound for every time you said the words fish & chips in this vlog i could almost buy one of those houses.
As bad as asking everyone if bloody EVs are the future!
Nice to see, loads of parking available in the City. Amazing. I think blighty has had it.😢
Blighty offers nothing these days, don’t really know why we haven’t all emigrated.
@@WESTMALLEMAN How true, yet look at the hordes of people trying to get in to dear old blighty !!! And not just the boat folk
After seeing your trips in and around Perth, you realise how s**t our cities are here in the UK, especially London.
Aw don't say that, they are loads of Aussies who would love to travel to London, I'm one of them 😊
thats funny cause in Melbourne and Sydney we forget Perth exists 😂
@@jdb9388 yeah except when blow your budgets and then you go, let's attack WA mines with all the money in them...
Noticed big time in your down under trip how clean tidy and well kept things are.
In comparison it really stands out how run down the government and councils have let the UK become.
Where's all our our taxes going? Certainly not on the upkeep of our nation which is deteriorating by the day
We're conscientious about using the bin for our rubbish here. If anyone drops their rubbish on the ground in a public place, they can expect to get told about it.
Thanks Lee, looks like a nice part of the world.
Top video. Been to Perth in 2012 and it was amazing. So good to watch your videos - takes me back to happy times Lee.
What a nice guy you met. Amazing anywhere in the world you’ll find a fellow friendly Brit to grab a pint with
Didn’t see one pothole, roads looked good
Hi Lee. You need to let us know where abouts your going the nights before so that people can meet you or advise on what to do there and Where's best to eat and best coffee places etc. Hope your enjoying perth.
Colin was was fav rally driver him and calos sainz blasting love it
Great video Lee keep em coming very interesting 👍
I love perth, looks really great place, another great video, your friend is a nice bloke.😊
Wow! Amazing coastal location ❤
Beautiful country, very clean, great weather by the looks of it. Ironic when you think that years ago all the undesirables and criminals were sent to Australia and now look how great their country is, All the crap now coming to the UK🤣
Yes, we made it beautiful. I don't go anywhere without picking up a bit of blow away litter. Making up for all the rubbish I created in England. England needs rubbish education. If you drop litter here, even our kids will pull you up.
Lee looking at the camera trying to convince his Mrs he hasn't been looking... Honest luv they were just in my eyeline everywhere I looked.. digging a deeper hole lol... That scenery at the end where abouts is that it looks unreal... Still catching up 😊
I bet Roger as some great stories to tell from back in the day 👍. And before you travel from Perth to Sydney in an EV you might want to watch the movie Wolf Creek 😂 that will put anyone off 🤣. Beautiful place pal 👌
This is very interesting indeed, Lee.
Have you thought of taking an early morning flight to Melbourne or Sydney for a day or two? (But these larger cities would probably take up several days each, I recon?) Or maybe on a future visit to Australia.!?. Nice vlog.😅😊
Perth metro area spans 120 kms ..not exactly small
I would retire there in a heartbeat what a beautiful place
Flake in Melbourne, the best fish. Its gummy shark yum !
I’m from Middlesbrough that Parmo isn’t a patch lol loving these Australian vlogs
Mate really felt the shake with you running belly wobbling a bit hahahahahha.
Amazing loving watching this Aussie trip few jealous comments but you will always get them
So glad you’re getting out of Perth city and seeing the beautiful countryside and finding us Aussies hospitable!
Nora Battys are calling Bogans and believe me there’s plenty of them!
Great vlog Lee enjoyed it👍
You need to come south to Margaret River wine region and have a Harvey Beef scotch fillet with some of the local wines.
Australia is the greatest hey Lee.
Unfortunately, most barramundi that is easily available is farmed. It is completely different from wild barramundi. Farmed has terrible texture, and taste. "Very soft" is farmed, hopefully you get to try a real barra on your travels.
Real wild caught barramundi is ambrosia
Sounds a bit like the mass produced Talapia in the USA.
Go to North West WA or Darwin in the NT and the Barra freshly fished out of the Indian Ocean is fantastic.
Parmo originally from Middlesbrough yes. Bloody hell 10 000 miles away 2 days in and fish n chips x2 ÷ a fried breakfast you can take the boy outa Mansfield ect ect 😂😂
Those houses are nice but way too close together. With the walls, railings and gates reminds me of properties in the UK aspired to by the travelling fraternity and those from the sub continent.
One of my old neighbors used to navigate for Colin,s Dad Jimmy and others in the WRC back in the day Ian Grindrod
Background music is a bit like breathe by pink Floyd
That fish and chips looked a bit rank tbh
Perth and the surrounding areas look really nice. ☀️
I don’t think an EV would EVen make it from Perth to Sydney without it catching fire from the heat
No charging points along the Null a bore. Could strap a load of solar panels to trickle charge it but he will be using more than what is going in.
@@norbertmachado6822 I heard there is charging all the way now. We have the longest highway for charging now.
Hank Marvis lives in Perth, keep your eyes peeled.
Leo Sayer does as well plus The Fonz is in town!
@@RichardWilkinson-cw1lxLeo wanker lives in Sydney 😅
G'day Lee!
Hillary's Bay looks an absolute beauty
Bring back the Sunshine. x
Yep a parmo is a Middlesbrough thing, I went to uni there 😖 (no offence meant but I didn’t love it)
All the takeaways advertised “parmo” and I didn’t have a clue why the hell or what they were! When I finally tired one they were nice. 😊
Petrol price! 🤨😱
Wow to the millionaires house 😮
Enjoyed the video! 😊
Houses are absolutely immaculate reminds me of Bradford 🤔🤔🤔🤣👍
Everything is better here.
No it's not ...and deep down you know it isn't ....don't you.
@@benj597um, yes it is! Lol
Great video thank you
Can’t believe that Lee still hasn’t been up to Teesside to try a proper Parmo. (Not Parmy !)
Parmy is an Australian invention..your version with white sauce is something different..anyway it's an Italian dish ultimately
What's it like to drink cold beer and not room temperature like your used in England
Are I only one who got "I've been off piste" "thought you went earlier"
Be sure to bring that guy back for your next Australian trip..
Two shark and chips with curry sauce and mushy peas please😮
I hope you do another video with the F1 mad Welshman. He seems really pleasant.
Having lived here for 30+ years ex London you take it for granted . Great to see it from a fresh pàir of eyes. Indeed XXXX is c..p!
Hi Lee. I will take back I said on your earlier video re coming over East whilst here. West is best. You are bringing back some fond memories of when I worked on a new hospital down near Freo in 2014. Some of the same spots you visited, and Roads, you drove in this video. Thanks for bringing some nostalgia into my day. I am absolutely loving your Vlogs of WA mate. Very well done. Enjoy the rest of your stay. I'm from South of Melbourne, about 3475km(2159 miles) East of where you are atm by the way, to give some context to this comment.
Edit: When I worked over there, it was on the construction of a very large Hospital, and you will laugh, when I got in the lifts, you would swear the job was in the UK with all the accents in that lift. Perth is full of expat UK citizens. Think because it is much closer to the UK to go home than over here on the East Coast.
Thanks. 👍🏼 keep an eye out regarding the east. 😉
One thing mate, West isn't best when it comes to AFL Football Sides!🤣
First bus in york has an all electric fleet of buses, the day before yesterday they had to draught diesel buses in from leeds and bradford depot's because they had a power cut and none of the buses were charged up😂😂😂😂😂😂
Wow you really had to think about the coldest parts of Oz. Give you a clue- the equator is north, Antarctic is south. Some snow on mountains- altitude
Made you comment though didn't it. 😉❤️
Nice guy Roger. Great cafe and food, fish looked fine, nice salad and chips. The Barrumndi might come from Vietnam, OZ barra is very expensive. Parmi in Oz not Parmo, very good, price ok, 8/10
Hi Lee out of interest I've heard that flights to Aus are now several thousands of pounds.
When I went I paid under a grand. I thought about emigrating and even filled in the paperwork as both my occupations are deemed as top tier.
I used to swim there when I was a kid (a ten pound pom ) in 1959, and the sharks were there then to. We lived in Freemantle for three plus years.
Fremantle.
@@serenepeacefulrelaxingmusi3874O I am sorry, smart arse.
You probably rubbed shoulders with Bon Scott and didn't even know it back then
Just starting these 3 videos Lee, this looks fantastic.
Where are all the Cars?, seems like it is mostly wagons or SUV's
I’m absolutely loving watching your messages from OZ my. Daughter Caitlin and her partner grace arrived down under 3weeks ago staying in Brisbane they love it I can’t thank you enough watching you makes me feel I’m there close to my baby xx cheers Lee 👍👍keep it up mate
Hillarys is one of my favourite places, I go there every time I visit.
Loving the Australia trip, looking forward to watching your videos from Sydney ! 😀👍🏻
Reminds me of when the transition from horse and carriage went to automobiles..They said they'll never catch on..There's always dissenters with anything new..
You do realise that EV'S came before the internal combustion engine. It failed.
You need to do a vlog on retirement in Oz .. it looks amazing. Enjoying your videos and how relaxed you are
Howdy can I ask if you have heard of the name Hillman in Perth? well, my great grandfather Alfred James Hillman was the architect of Perth
There is a suburb in Perth named Hillman. Mayb connected to your great grandfather
Hi yes it will be he documented his work i in a book called The Hillman Diaries @@ACDZ123
Hillman is a suburb close to Rockingham, south of Fremantle.
Did he make the Hillman car as well.
LOL no that came much later he was my great grandfather Alfred James Hillman he wrote the Hillman Diaries it is a huge book about his design of Perth@@blueycarlton
Thanks Lee went to Hilary’s harbour many years ago my partner had a bit of a scare while swimming there brings back memories

Hi MacMaster I enjoyed this video so much and it was my favourite video since you have been in Australia and i'm going to give a 10/10 for this video i love it when your going abroad to these places and please keep these videos coming. I love the background music that you have used in this video too. Since I have been watching this you tube channel it has made me a relaxed person and made me enjoy my life a lot more.I would like to say you McMaster if it wasn't for you bringing all this content god knows where i would be.You have made me happy and i'm going to enjoy more content that you will bring to me and all your subscribers in the UK and abroad.
Great video thanks Lee I'm in Sydney along way east of Perth never been there great to see the sights . Been to WA on a round australia road trip or a lap as we call it but headed north not south once we hit the Indian Ocean . Looking forward to all your Aussie travelogues do some outback trips if you have the time and money.
Lovely looking food, amazing place, why does anyone stay in the UK !
I used to work for Nick Whale who is into motor sport his Dad started up BMW Ryedale from a back street in Birmingham were the man Gordon Cox who later became a director of Ryedale BMW but he used to be the petrol pump attendant for Bill Whale at a little petrol shell station it's gone now it's car wash..but Nick changed the name from Ryedale to Sytner but I can't say why he changed the name..and Bill Whale bless him only ever drove a few BMW'S because he used to get chauffeured around in a Rolls-Royce..and the badge of BMW resembles airplane blades because they first started making airplane engines way before car's..and BMW stands for Bavarian Motor Works I know because I've been there and worked there and but I'm still In touch with Nick Whale and I've been to house a few times well it's not really a house like we think of but Nick is the salt of the earth no heirs or graces such a great person to be around with.. okay he is worth millions but I was a apprentice at BMW when me and Nick Whale first met because I was sorting his break pads out to fit in a different size caliper when he first started doing hill climbs before racing BMW'S and we have been friends ever since..but i miss is Dad Bill because he was a small version of Victor Meldrew always moaning about something.. you wouldn't think it would you with the amount he had and BMW boats and yachts and so many different properties abroad aswell and he still moaned lol.. that's where Me and my friend Nick clicked because we found that we had the same sense of humour moaning bastard 😂
Sytners are one of these huge mega dealers and have pretty much brought out every independent car dealership in the UK. Sadly most car dealerships that were independent are being taken over by these big companies.
@@bentullett6068 Yes I know all that 👍
Great video, Hillarys harbour and Cottesloe great areas, we have family in that area bringing back lots of memories, pop back to Lucky shag, you are just a stonethrow away from it by Elizabeth Quay.....
The worst time to be swimming at the beach is in dull weather conditions and dusk.
However, hungry Sharks 🦈 do not restrict their feeding to those hours.
I have an agreement with Sharks 🦈, they keep off the land, and I keep out of their waters.
🍴🍺Down with All Kings and Queen'$ 🥂
Yes, someone has done a trip from Perth to Melbourne in a battery car.
I spoke to a couple that went to Queensland in their MG. they said it was ok.
So a Welshman and Englishman enter a fish bar
Grand Lane chippy not far from where your staying does great fish and chips + curry sauce and mushy peas.
Great video as always Lee.
Are you going the visits (MyGuy, Simon) whilst you’re in Australia?
I am :0)
Parmo it's called to us teessiders which bech I think the Parma he had had tomato puree on chicken breadcrumbs not bechamel sauce
I hope you meet Greg from Greg’s kitchen
Another great video Lee.
Another enjoyable video Lee. My favourite fish here in Auz is Hoki. Be sure to try that one. (It’s NZ fish I believe). I think you should drive the EV from Perth to Brisbane and then I can take you for the best fish n chips here on the Gold Coast 😊
Nothing wrong with XXXX.
It's a Mid Strength beer 🍺 that is consumed by many in Queensland, including my In-Laws.
I live in South Australia 🇦🇺 and have a carton here.
Fremantle looks brilliant reminds us of Southport in parts just with nicer weather ☀️
Lee, if you get the chance find a good mum & Pop Pizza place and try Aussie pizza.
You probably eating farmed barramundi there , the wild caught barramundi tastes much better because it dosnt live on man made pellets , ever tried a King George Whiting famous for them in South Australia probably the best tasting fish on earth 😊
