This was a fun night at the Roxy in Atlanta GA. I was only 22 then and I was taken to the front of the stage when they shot this music video. Neal Schon was so sweet he gave me a kiss and his guitar pick after this song. We all had a blast! Now I am almost 48yrs old but I still remember how much fun we had that night!! Love you Neal!!! I still got that guitar pick too!!!! lol
I was in the front also and I was around 27. John Waite grabbed my hand near the end of the song and I fell forward onto the girl in front of me. There was a plank on the floor and I had a hard time getting footing. Always felt bad for falling on the girl. It was either me falling on her or me pulling John into the audience. I had red on so back then they couldn't get of a red in the video so I always knew where I was watching the video. That was a great show at the Roxy in Atlanta!
Are we talking 1989/90? If so, we met them in the original Rio Bravo the night of that show, and John signed a Rio menu that my friend still has to this day! Cool stuff!
John is another totally underrated artist - his songs are oh so well crafted and an absolute pleasure to listen to whether when he was in the Baby's, Bad English or with his own band. I'd love to see him back over here in England - go on John - come back to Blighty.
john waite is simply great ! unfortunatly this band had only two years. ok.... solo projects where also really good - but bad english was simply the top of his career
Reminds me of my beach trip 1991. I was driving my 1987 monte carlo SS, T tops out, playing this stiff cranking over a set of kicker speakers and Rockford Fosgate amps. Women with big hair 😍
John Waite is unique. He sang with "The Babys", then made "Missing You" his greatest song ever! Then he was "Bad English",another good group. Then he went back on his own.I followed him through all his music. Its tough that nobody seems to recognize him now.I always did.Hes a great artist.
I love this band they are one of the best for me, They make me feel happy and high nothing else other than 80s Hard Rock can do that. It don't get more 80s innuendo filled that "heaven is a four letter word" WILD!!
but name the #1 songs that came out when it was Journey + Perry. I bet you can't and I bet most people when they find out what those songs were they would rather listen to Journey. Would you rather have the #1 song from 40 years ago or have the #1 song most people are still listening to 40 years later?
They are laborers doing whatever they have to , to save as many lost souls as they can . They're like modern day rock and roll disciples .I believe that , all I have to do , is look in the mirror , and thank God ; I'm still alive .
Actually it's not love. He sings, "It's like love and kiss, and it feels like this. Baby don't wait to long. It's just me and you. We know what to do, and it's a long way till dawn."
the last great poser band... i love and never forget them ! the only CD i never sold. ok... may be because the CD is signed, but even without signing, i will keeep this one ;) \m/
I wish when Journey was looking for a lead singer that they would of considered John Waite as lead singer because they could of incorporated these Bad English songs in their mix. I mean you have Neal Schon, John Cain , Dean already in Journey and John Waite would of been the completion of both bands besides the base player
At least some of us were able to experience the 80s "and survive" to tell about it. I remember taking a hot chick to a show, getting separated and taking home another one. Chicks pulled the same crap. After a few days somebody breaks down and calls the other and all is forgotten. Having fun and getting laid wasn't so dam complicated or expensive.
The 21st century is sadly lacking this awesomeness! Who else agrees?
Coincido...

Wow! you would be really lucky on those days! They really are one of the good band!

Wonderful video & filled with the promise of romance & fantasy. I love it.
Unbeatable combination! Neal & John Waite... :-)
Not bad, but Schon & Perry was deadly combination.
Oh, you are so right there... I love Steve Perry & Neal!!! Great stuff!
spookjay
But John let Neal rock out more.
Great karaoke song
Every song on the first album could have been a 7" single.

I was at the recording of this video in Atlanta Georgia at the Center Stage Theater. They brought in a bunch of models for the front row.
This is just Journey with Jon Waite singing......Awesome
And Ricky Phillips playing bass.
Actually it's not love. He sings, "It's like love and kiss, and it feels like this. Baby don't wait to long. It's just me and you. We know what to do, and it's a long way till dawn."

Era una excelente banda , lamentablemente duraron tan poco.

Cain's perm haunts my sleep.
@spookjay Autograph did Turn Up The Radio in 1984
Bad English wasn't formed until 1988,and this was released in 1989.
Sehr. Gut. 👍👍👍‼️‼️‼️
Still Rockin!! May 2024
John Waite 🌹La voix D"or du Rock♥
And Steve Perry/Lou Gramm
this song has always reminded me to "Turn up radio" by Autograph...
Yeah, a little bit! And actually, I just noticed John Waite looks a bit like Steve Plunkett of Autograph, with the red hair and all...
ABSOLUTELY, mood and spirit. A little too much sound gimmicks with the Autograph track
Heaven is a 4 letter word... Adam. My Adam.
Turn up the radio was sung by Autograph!
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️💜💜💜💜💜
Superrrrrrrrrr

I have this on the BE VHS from '89/'90, the problem is it's still sealed, so I don't dare watch it :/
I wonder if John ever sang Journey songs.
NO!!!
Cadas Wow
Jonathan Cain looks like Dave Bryan from Bon Jovi!
❤️💋
You know, it bugs me a lot that this song wasn't included on Waite's 1996 greatest hits collection, Falling backwards, because it's one awesome tune.
Yaa.eh
N that's.
***Like..****. ..
When you say..#That Refers to smthg Else##....Suno Na..

Anybody knows a brand and a name of guitar in this video?
Neal is playing a signature model Schon guitar. Jackson was making them for him at first, and later they were made by Larivee.
✌🏿✌🏿✌🏿
...and hell begin from only 1 word in the front of logos. it's a, and heaven in alogos to be aheaven/hell.
He reminds me of David Coverdale....
John Waite has always made scarves sexy..he can't help it, he's hot!

davincent98
I know, but both songs sound similar.
@Alejandro1313sixx You mon, you remind me Robert Plant.
Tell me Neil Schon can't play....
SO this song says that heaven means hell?
F. U. C. K.
Fact - "Heaven" is a 6-letter word.
Not a bad tune.
:-)
