Making a Realistic Inchworm!!

This is a simple yet cool-looking fly pattern that makes for a fun project. Not only are very few materials needed, but the more artistic you are in coloring up the body, the better it will look. However, even just a few black dots, as I've done here, only take a minute and come out looking pretty good, although the fish won't necessarily care. All in all, this has a great profile for inchworms and in larger sizes for caterpillars that fall into the water. It will work for many species; however, in my area where there are predominantly brook trout, I like to fish these near cut banks with overhanging alders where brook trout like to hide. It might not be an everyday go-to, but since it only takes minutes to make, it's worth adding a few to the fly box.
